Funny how this threads gone quiet after he was proven to not be too bad isnt it ?
-
As good as Morgan is Pogba is an entirely different level, and only young still
-
I did the maths quick Still bad reading for the forster bashers
-
So like I said, blind to the ratio of saves to shots then....
-
Well feel free to go out and look for those more detailed analysis. Ive managed to find the stats to answer the question of the OP (and I fully expect him to ignore it). Which show me what I knew, that Forster isnt anywhere near as bad a keeper as people are making out. This all depends on how much you want to look into things anyway, each and every goal will habe someone making a mistake of some description at some point, for instance Liverpools first being Davis not closing down or the second being attributed to Morgans poor pass or Targetts slip. Funnily enough as a online fanbase we seem to be very picky as to where our overall blame lies, as evidenced in every goal we concede somehow being blamed on forster or Guly being lambasted last season over a goal that in reality was the golden boy lallanas fault.

So are you blind to the fact he has a better saves to shots ratio then those considered the best in the prem aswell as his clean sheets then ?! Itll be nice to see you be positive about any of our players tbh
-
http://www.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/premierleague/stats?table=defensive&stat=goalsAgainstAvg#top He has a better save to shots ratio than Hart and Courtois who are the only ones in a reasonable comparison due to the low shots faced. Therefore he is doing pretty well all things considered. Time to start laying off the bloke and looking for things that arent there.

Quite obviously yes

Despite this, personally I saw enough decent balls in and around him to be able to do a better job of bringing others in. I never see him actually hold the ball up, just flicks. As per goalscoring, again there was enough delivery into the box to make more of yesterday. He shouldnt ever be the only one in goalscoring positions, but all too often he isnt either

A penalty is a set piece tbf
-
Which is what was widely reported at the time. Id say id was a shame that it caused many good players and a good manager to leave but in the end it all worked out for the best. I understood he reasons for leaving, just not his application of him leaving. Perhaps the new board were slow and naive in there early approach to things, and yes at the time I was vocally annoyed but they've sorted themself out and come out IMO smelling of roses. We dont know the state of play early after NCs leaving, so maybe there were reasons for their hesitance
-
He hasnt the composure to take the majority of his chances. So Im not sure Id want him near a set piece. I imagine he would just try to hit it as hard as he can as per usual
-
I just find it laughable that many find any reason to knock him, to talk about incorrect technique etc or apportion any blame for the first is plain daft. It was an incredible strike that he did well to get anywhere near ! The second, yes he may have done better, he got a hand to it, but Im not expecting much from a shot that took a deflection and was obscured by nearly 3 players. If you really wanted to point fingers then Davis failed to close Coutinho for the first (like he failed to close Shelvey) and Morgans poor pass and Targetts panic caused the second.

But we do create 'enough' certainly enough for us to get a bit more out of games then we currently are. I agree he isnt the whole problem. Delivery has to be better, as does any sort of play aroumd the box and 50% of the supply to him is very poor. But he is still part of the issue, he doesnt get into enough dangerous positions, lacks composure, tries too many flicks when he should hold it up and can be easily marked (as can most target men tbh). He needs to do better, but its worty noting he was only 8m which for a decent prem striker is cheap

Been taking your cue
-
Go to bed poppet, but drink plenty, you've had a great week but back to school in the morning
-
That'll be because Reed isnt as good as Morgan or wanyama
-
Really ? Under or through two players ? Id say its a bit harsh to say so tbh
-
Too many flicks and not enough time with the ball at his feet for me. Yes he is capable, you can see its more of a case of a man out of form that has the quality in terms of chance creation. But I think he needs to get it down and allow the attacking players to get closer to him and help him out. Personally I dont see his movement or composure to be particularly form related as its always seemed to be lacking, composure especially
-
You need to get into positions to enable them too
-
First was a worldie, second he didnt see till late. Cant blame him much today tbh
-
He lacks real composure to be a top 6 player but Id say he has enough in his game to be good. He tries too many flicks etc when he should be holding it up more. He never manages to get in any real threatening position either, at times not even in the box for crosses
-
We have missed Ryan yes, but Targett hasnt been that bad, apart from the slip
-
We desperately needed back up in jan, looking like a bad idea missing out. And yes I am aware there may not have been decent options.

My favourite ever commentator phrase has to be 'anywhere else on the pitch its a foul but its not enough for a penalty' Hmmm sorry ?
