Don't be so fecking stupid boy, there is no way he could adapt to the championship. Connolly would easily outscore him.

Meh Barnard and Guly will have good seasons, Maynard deal is not dead but would be pricey. I expect we will get someone from abroad and I fully expect us to over rely on the tortoise that is Lambert before its too late. Other than that I don't know. Give it time, we have a decent squad apart from a striker and a new brick ****house of a CB. Cork went a long way to appease me of our Midfield issues. (bye bye Hammond)

The club is gaining IMHO by making all the bedwetters wait, as when the kit is launched they will probably lay on some extra crap on to entice the minions to part with even more money when they cue up to grab the latest installment of the money making machine that is football kits. FFS I buy probably about 1 or 2 kits every few years to train in, and never saints kits, I did buy the sash as I found it a new and inspiring kit. But usually I would never ever spend £40 odd quid on a generic shirt, that gets me half way to a decent pair of jeans, converse or a new polo. I appreciate those that do like to buy the kit and show colours, fair play to you. But if anything surely this adds to the excitement over a usually dull no football period. If they just said, here you go here is the latest offering I expect they wouldn't make as much money through the hype and the club would lose the mercurial theme it seems to have at the moment.

Not even in the same league as that moaning little bast*rd. Puncheon has not 'felt right' at any club he has ever been at. Sense says that Billy's agent tried it on a little too hard, I have no bad blood for Mr Sharpe for that, he is at the relegation favourites and we are on the up, its his loss not ours, and tbf, if and when donny get relegated I expect he will get a move anyways.

This I was going to post that in my 1st post. He only has to turn around and say I must be paid at least as much as the highest earner OR on the flipside, I will only come for £x and then we may have to uprate Lallana, Fonte etc who all could equally be on a similar highest earner deal ?

I'd spunk £4 mill on him, I think Maynard is a decent player and could add a bit of pace to the side. £5 mill is a bit steep but it is due to the transfer climate as it is and the new uk player rulings thats what you pay. I do however think that both Barnard and Guly have a lot of potential to do damage in this division this year, but for me the jury is out for Lambert.

Obviously

A lot of teh Delgado 'fee' dissapeared into the pockets of others, and at a time when Forlan was available and willing for a modest 400k, but hey ho I had this conversation last night when discussing the possible clubs interested in Maynard, his fee I would suspect may be north of 4 mill, and as said last night, english players are pricey these days.

Its not always all about cold hard cash (though I would imagine it played a big part). Perhaps he wasn't thrilled about moving south ? Perhaps he wasn't promised to be first choice (I think a large part of the reasoning) ? Perhaps it was indeed money related. Either way I admire the fact that we are not throwing cash around at anything that moves and are trying to piece together a squad that hopefully has more ambition than greed. It would be nice to think we have other irons in the fire aswell. We have Lambert, Barnard and Guly on our books, all of which I think are very able strikers potentially in this division.

Still hoping its a sash

For me ST sales are the biggest indicator of a clubs support (although it has factors none more so than price) Walkups is a smaller indicator and is heavily influenced by social events and success on the pitch vs opposition.

Considering the amount of bans flying around I would imagine the forum will run pretty smoothly now..

FFS Hypo was a grade A bellend but all this banning is why I hardly post anymore Well done mods..... Its all to create a better forum experience.................

Good coach, nice bloke and well respected in the wider footballing community. Shame he has to go to that place down the road though.

Spot on. Also people who couldn't give a f*ck for their fellow man, I do hope they themselves are not found to be in a position of pay cut or no job as that really would be a horrible place to be in. If the rubbish is piling up bad enough to really put your life in a mix get up of your ars* and do something about it. If not and you have yet to take trips to the tip then surely its not worth moaning about it, especially when we are talking about people potentially losing their jobs. That said, if the binmen really have a choice out of pay cuts or redundencies I don't think they have made the right stand.

You are no Deppo GS

Having watched him play, I fully comend him for his attitude and his work ethic, however this is a step up and simply work alone does not make up for his technical inadequacies. All IMO of course.
-
I concur. Cork would be a decent signing if we were to use Schniederlin in a more advanced role such as he is accustomed with at the French under 21's etc. Otherwise we need a new CM that is capable of breaking forward aswell as defending. That of course is unless Chaplow gets back to the form we found him in during his loan spell. IMO Hammond will be out of his depth in the championship. Same could be said for many positions of course. You basically have Davis, Fonte, Lallana, Chambo, Lambert and perhaps Morgan as first choices. Hard to convince many players he will be first choice unless he is a lot better than we have, and they cost much more. That IMO is why we have seen no signings so far.

Quorn ?? Yeah the missus took to eating it during her health kick. Tried it, can't say I am much of a fan.

Quorn ??? No thanks

Danns would have changed the whole system that we play in order to accomodate him, and so, not so bothered.
