Step down ?? Not really. People are forgetting Pardew was a manager on the way down when he came here, he had walked out on Reading and failed at West Ham at the highest level. I never trusted him as a person and it speaks for me that every club he has been at has ended in stories of unrest. Brizzle city fans must have been creaming when they got Coppell, a man with pedigree, a man who had experience, a man........................................who has been there, done that and has nothing to prove and so has no desire and no passion. The footballing world is marred by this sort of thing, many many managers who have failed at clubs both with experience and without. Howe has done fantastically well at a club with no budget and in the depths of despair, he has united a dressing room and achieved what was almost the unnacheivable, whats more he is young, new to the managerial game, will probably embrace the future of football and not be stuck in the past. Most importantly he has heart and desire. Once upon a time St Mirren took a chance on a manager about 32 or 33. He didn't turn out too bad. Another team, Porto took a chance on a guy that was trying hard to get into the managerial game, and they didn't do too bad either. Thing is, picking a manager will always be hit or miss, and sometimes you need to take a chance, just as a little while ago Pardew was saying he didn't want older players looking for an easy ride i don't want a manager with an ego bought by past successes thinking the same thing, i would rather a guy with heart and desire and for me Howe fills that void. On the other hand Howe is an up and coming manager with plenty to prove.

Managers reported in town by forum members

My manager was in southampton the other day -
MON would actually make me wet myself in a sticky ecstacy. But TBH i think Howe would be a great shout. Young, charismatic and with a drive to improve. I'd be happy with Brown, Adkins. Definately have a better pedigree to Pardew IMO. Curbishley is past it IMO

Wouldn't be a bad thing, as much as i hate the saggy faced wheeler dealer 'awight mayte' c*nt. You can't deny he is a good manager and seems to get the best out of players.

I would be happy with Howe, plays good football, will be hungry to improve and push on. Plays attractive football and has done wonders at AFC B with no budget.

I always get oxford street/London road mixed up but it is there, it was always on the road to the left of Rhino's. Theres a menu on the website you can look at incase they don't do any veggie options (i assume they do, most italians do) plus if you fancied it i would book as it gets busy. No problem btw

Either way all really engaging discussions are more than 1 dimensional and single sided. And clearly the twitter thing didn't work as there were like 2-3 questions read out.

Well yeah thats what i was getting at. It depends on your perspective of the NC thing. Personally he has made some p*ss poor decisions (Photo Ban) and the payment plan not being communicated. I can't help but think there would not be so much animosity if he actually came out and spoke about the reasons behind some of his 'ideas'. For me he doesn't deserve quite as much vitriol as he gets. As for the Pardew situation, the fact it has been badly planned leads me to believe some sort of incident, somewhere happened, hell it could have been that NC and Pards had a spat or it could be the training ground incident we just don't know. I just think that with Cortese's background i would imagine if he 'planned' to get rid of a vital member of staff he would have a replacement all but ready, that fact he hasn't speaks volumes. Add this to the fact that Pardew has a lot of previous to do with falling out at clubs for one reason or another.

Yeah i saw that, although i did think it was between Hammond and Jaidi to pick up Austin... at the time i thought it was Jaidi's mistake and wondered why Fonte was shouting at Hammond and not Jaidi who really made Fonte's job hard Tuesday. Harding is always a stroppy c*nt anyways, lost count the amount of times he loses his temper at 5 year old ball boys or other players. As for Barnard, he was sent for studs up, not the little scuffle.
-
Or alternatively we might as well presume the rumours aren't true, so NC can continue to look like the devil incarnate.

**** you and **** this ****ing place Not all of us have twitter, i just thought seeing as it is a podcast for the forum it would probably be better suited asking questions on teh forum ?
-
I do thoroughly agree, but sometimes you need to just get to the byeline and swing some crosses in. Getting the wide men to swap around would be a good tactic to have, and if we played 4-5-1 the three behind the front man could be more fluid which would draw the defence out and cause lots of holes to appear.

How objective and well debated.........................................................lol You really don't like Cortese do you ?? Generally its pretty well done but in reality it is two blokes who think exactly the same having a chat. Would be improved if you got us to ask questions on the forum perhaps or even debated with a few people of differing opinions (i realise we are all saints fans but many of us have different opinions)
-
Perhaps, i just don't think it is as devastating as everyone is making out. IMO the fact that he was sacked so quickly with lack of planning is indicative of an off field event and not a planned sacking. As for Porto they are pretty much habitual winners of cups and leagues in portugal and Fergie was at stirling for something like 100 days so not really long enough to gain an opinion in my eyes. And like i said, any manager unable to bring this team and this set up success will be deemed a failure. Pardew did just what is expected and IMO if he hadn't have won the JPT probably less that expected.
-
Adkins would be a good shout. I even think Howe would be a decent shout but think we MAY need to install a bigger name to ensure we keep the big names. It'll be a tough one, and IMO as much as it may hurt not to hear for a week or two then it may benefit in the long run if we install the right man.
-
That looks better, Barry is over-rated and would probably look better on the left before Johnson turned up. I also think Milner had his best ever season last year but Walcott is on fire right now and we need pace in the england team. IMO we need to look at the Italian and German models which use the Euro's as a training ground for the new youth in order to become ready for the world cup. Will Terry/Lampard/Beckham/Scholes ever make the next world cup ? If even the Euro's FFS. Until the FA move into the future and embrace change we will never amount to anything.

He is not meant to be a box to box player, he is a sort of deep playmaker who can do a bit of defending. Lazy ? No just positionally sound. He lets the flair players play. Would your mate think Mascherano and Makelele were lazy ?
-
Many have achieved it though. And many who have, many on here do not regard as good enough to replace the mighty Pardew.
