True, and we're in the Top 10 so we can't play ourselves !!
-
Brilliant set of results, still top without playing. Interestingly we haven't played any of the Top 10 sides yet. More severe tests to come, play Cardiff 8th tonight and Middlesboro, West Ham and Derby in October should give us better idea of the level we are actually at.

At the beginning of the run in.

Adkins said in an interview that after the open training session yesterday that the players had the weekend off and that they would be back in training on Monday for the build up to the Nottm Forest.

Ordered 2 online last Thursday evening and arrived in the post Saturday morning.

I see on the Saints FC website that the Barnsley tickets are available from Monday but will only be sent out by Recorded Delivery that have to be signed when delivered, I've never had that before. Apparently it's because Barnsley don't accept responsibility for lost or stolen tickets. It would also be good if on the website they stated whether tickets or admission were available at the away ground on the day of the match.

I think that the shirt is OK, however going back to the traditional stripes makes it a bit indistinctive (could be Sunderland, Stoke etc..). I personnally liked the Sash design (had many favourable comments from fans from other teams last season) but it was appropriate to have it as a 'special design' for a 'special year'. I also like the 80's red and white stripe variations that stand us apart from other teams. At St Marys on Saturday it was good to see the in the 'the flesh' on the team, 2 comments that I'd make is 1) that if the white shoulder section was bigger the players name could be on it and be easier to see (although of course we know the players names anyway), and 2) the red socks seem a lot brighter red than the strips on the shirt and looked a bit odd.

I hope that you are right, however if there is the slightest doubt I would rather rest him for one match and let him fully recover than play him and if injury gets worse out for 2 weeks or more, at this busy time of the season means missing 4 or 5 matches minimum. But I guess that's always the dilema when playing players not fully fit.
-
I hope that this doesn't come back to haunt in the Play Off Final at Old Trafford in May ?

People support their team in different ways, any fan who took the trouble to be there yesterday should be congratulated not criticised for how they support their team.

I was there and it looked like a penalty to me, looking at the OS photographs there is contact with an arm across Barney on the first in the photo sequence and slight foot contact in the second?. If it was seen as 50/50 Barnay shouldn't have been booked, however he has been booked before for 'diving' so maybe he should go to acting lessons to be more subtle rather than fling himself to ground so dramatically !

Come on Saints you can win this.
-
If we can win tonight on a cold dark night, mid week away from home up north, on a poor pitch, against a team that's got a good home record, then it will show how we have progressed far more than recent home games. In the past this has often been the recipe for a disappointing performance, lets hope things have finally changed. COYR

It's a relief that Ricki seems to be OK with his team mates, we need him firing on all cylinders for the remainder of the season.
-
Reading his interview on the saintsfc web site he says that he was 'a bit angry with certain players (at 1 - 0 down)'. Who do you think that they were ? I know that it is natural to be annoyed with your team mates at times but being 'a bit angry' maybe shows that Ricki has some issues with some of the team and maybe contributing to his 'off' performance this season. To be fair he does go on to say 'but we picked ourselves up and got back in the game, and I think that we did that brilliantly', so maybe I'm micro analysing his comment too much but it was an interesting thing that he said probably born out of his personal frustration with his form.

There are 6 or 7 mid week opportunities between mid March and the end of the season on 7th May to fit in any more postponements, more than enough unless all our scheduled matches in January are postponed.

Walsall Weather Watch / Build-up Thread - Game called off!
M271 replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Met office site now not showing snow for tomorrow (Saturday) in the West Midlands but -4c at kick off time !! Only possibility of light snow today. If the surrounding areas are not icy (crowd safety !!) and the pitch is frozen but flat the game should be on. -
Are players wearing gloves allowed to take throw ins ? Do referees check them to make sure that they're not rubber palmed etc... Could be an advantage.

Here, here. My sentiments exactly.

2 adults = £36.80, still certainly cheaper to drive as that equals about 7 gallons of fuel.
-
I've just checked on the web site 'the trainline' and its £27.60 from Wigan to Huddersfield return for 1 adult and 1 child, £15.65 if you get a Family and Friends railcard.
-
Can you buy away end tickets for the Saints match on Tuesday night at the Yeovil ground ?
-
I seem to remember Sky sources were often wrong during the take over saga last year, I hope that these sources ref Paul Hart are just as inaccurate.
-
Paul Harts win % over his managerial career is only 30.75% !!, according to Wikipedia.
