  1. The same Leeds game where they had one shot on goal and then a seriously dodgy penalty? Yeah we pretty much shut Leeds out. You don't know what you're talking ababout.
  2. I'm glad we got him on loan. We DON'T need to get a long term centre back for the moment, not whilst we couldn't get our targets. He'll do a good job and provide cover which is what we need incase of injuries. From what I've heard what he does lack is a bit of mobility but at 6 foot 4 he can mop up in the air well. By January Seabourne will be a much better player anyway he's progressing very well. As for the striker situation, there's still time for a loan, if not we have Guly/Lambert/Barnard/Connolly/Forte/Lallana/ and Hoskins who is meant to be doing very well. What we don't have in depth we make up for in team spirit and togetherness. Connolly has been a revelation this season so far, and if we can keep him fit and provide the service we all know he'll put 'em away.
  3. You can't compare a winger/left back to an attacking midfielder, the Bale and Lallana comparison is unfair. Lallana's strength is from cutting in and providing creativity by doing that, whilst also having the ability to turn his man on the outside too. His strength will never be out and out pace, but creativity and quick feet.
  4. That was aimed at Alpine's response about the defense and the result coming since the Leeds game.
  5. You are joking aren't you?
  6. He's just a good finisher, no pace, just imagine a League two Lee Trundle that is why no-one has picked him up.
  7. Nopes.
  8. Okay just relaying a bit of information. Firstly he had offers from other clubs, I believe Anderlecht were after him and AZ in Holland. But he chose Southampton because of how he impressed he was with the city and the nice atmosphere inside it. He also loved the stadium. He's waiting for his girlfriend to come and live here in six months because she's finishing her degree/college. So lets get behind him, and from all accounts from what I've heard he is a proper sound guy. Although he's prone to swearing alot in frustration. Just a bit of useless information for everyone.
  9. No thanks, disruptive influence, high wages, old, injury prone.
  10. Bellend sounds like a great acquisition.
  11. Connolly is undroppable in this current form, however he is very injury prone and I doubt he will last a season in this league without breaking something or other, or getting knocks every two months.
  12. Portswood is really nice I think, especially around the University area. And it's got lots of good shops nearby, I've lived here 24 years and there's been no trouble. There's hardly any chavs, what you will get is alot of students though during term times. But it's got great shops for food/restaurants, good pubs, and it's within easy access to everywhere in the city and elsewhere (st denys station)
  13. We don't need Beattie. He's old, slow and past it. Come on. Get me a young pacy striker any day of the week.
  14. Dalek saying about readyness for the start of the season. Haven't we just won two games with 7 different goalscorers? Yep not ready at all Dalek. Moron.
  15. EDL would attack anything thats colored, including riot police wearing black.
  16. Can anyone else hear sirens all the time? Don't have a clue what is going on, but it's bloody annoying.
  17. The reports of a helicopter are unconfirmed on Twitter. I haven't actually seen one, but i'm in Portswood.
  18. Back to the actual discussion of riots near us. I've seen a heavier Police presence today, it seems like people are expecting something soon. Some people have said there's a helicopter flying around on Twitter, and last night there were fires started. From what I can see it's local gangs starting trouble and getting in on it.
  19. The Welfare system was far more in place under a labour Government and when labour were in power did you see riots? No because despite labours flaws they wanted to try and bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. All this latest bunch of morons we call a government has done is cut young peoples support. EMA, Raising tuition fee's, cutting jobs, youth clubs etc, and even police numbers. When many people are unemployed and dissaccosiated from the society they live in and unhappy about not having much hope of a job, they feel let down by the country, helpless, and many will go off those rails that they need. This violence is sickening, and it makes me so sad to see our country fall to pieces. Let this be a wake up call to Cameron that if you cut the police and vital services the end result is this.. I hope the army can be called in and tough sentences are handed for anyone involved in the riots. I'm preying this doesn't come to Southampton, but we have our gangs, maybe not in such a large number but they will jump on this at some point.
  20. I've got it and while I do like it, i find the moving with the players a bit cumbersome. How can you "outpace" a defender?
  21. I did make a bit of a mistake with the Sharp signing, i don't think we need him, although Maynard would be a great option. I think we're gonna be loaning a couple of decent players this season too.
  22. No offense but Riise despite his past exploits would command huge wages and is getting much older, whilst Cork is improving and can play in the Premiership as he showed for Burnley and would be a leading midfielder in the championship. And would stay around much longer than a Riise who would just be a bit of an old mercanary, living on past Liverpool exploits. What would Riise actually bring to the team that we don't have already? Surely what we need is another CM, a new CB to replace the aging Jaidi to partner Fonte and a pacy striker to compliment the likes of Lambert and Barnard. We're so far going for two of those options with Maynard/Sharp bids plus the Cork bid being accepted. I'm very happy with what we're doing in this window.
  23. The only players we have a chance of signing on that list are... Bikey Clyne Danns Cork Jennings Elliot Graham
  24. You'd never see this in the Church... Oh wait. Go away with your islamophobic threads.
