  1. Looks like FIFA 2010/World Cup, can't see anything really different. PES will catch up this year.
  2. Still stunned at the news, condolences to the family of of Marcus Leibherr, you were a great man. A true Saint who will rest in peace with Ted Bates and other Southampton heroes. Your kindness saved our club we'll never forget you.
  3. "PES Mega fans" Most Fifa plays aren't actually that happy with the game and will return to PES this year without a doubt. The broken manager mode and the lack of variety in goals scored, and the way FIFA makes you play the game FIFA wants rather than a realistic game of football. The beauty of PES is you can really have your own style, and things like stats actually meant something and the player individuality will ALWAYS be better than Fifa's despite it's "personality plus" which is again stolen from PES. I'll be the first to admit I see why people DON'T like PES2010/2009/2008 Those versions in comparison to PES 5 & 6 just weren't as fun.. or balanced. And generally the animations since being on next gen have nose dived, Seabass himself has admitted PES has lost it's way, and it's built on a different engine now which you'll all see for yourself. 360 passing, 360 movement, 1000'S of new animations for starters, the game has improved wholescale. BUT people WILL dislike it, the new tricks system and defending system means many people will lose as X doesn't mean *run into someone and tackle* Now X is jockey and the tackling is done with the stick. So if people put in the hours and time to adapt to the game, it will be hugely satisfying.
  4. Yeah thats what i've heard from a VERY good source too.
  5. Thats the FIRST code of the game. Clearly you're trying to do what you usually do and put down any Konami efforts for PES. The code has been much advanced to that video as that was out in June, it's august now the video in the first post was from the preview code. Everyone who has previewed PES2011 has said it's improved vastly and will compete with FIFA2011. Return to form I think.
  6. No need to call the chairman who saved our club and the man who got him here a **** Pathetic post.
  7. They only had ONE shot on target.. We need to create more chances. It wasn't good enough, and Pardew knows that and the team knows that, the pressure has got to the players and injuries haven't helped. What will help is Pardew forcing his hand and getting us good loans, i.e good wingers. 45 more games to go. On the bright side we did DOMINATE, but this defeat doesn't surprise me because from what i've heard there's not enough time being spent on the training pitch AT ALL.
  8. We lacked pace in wide areas - Lack of creativity. Not brave enough to shoot. Confidence lacking - Set piece delivery needs to improve Not quick enough to pick out the RIGHT passes.
  9. PES will be better than Fifa this year no doubt about it having already played the preview code the game is the dogs ********. It's finally gone next gen and in some style.
  10. Actually my bad. I think he didn't move. Might have been another Bristol City player Bradley Orr.
  11. Pretty sure he's moved to QPR.
  12. Has Alpine Saint EVER been positive, before a season? After a season? IN THE season. Gah. I give up the guy is a pathetic negative whining loser.
  13. I wish Alpine Saint supported another team. Thats how much he irritates me he's a tit of the highest order.
  14. The season hasn't started lets not get all doom and gloom just yet!
  15. We look good upfront.
  16. Meh have a little more faith we have good youngsters who can easily provide some cover, obviously with the signings Pardew WILL make we will be fine. Lallana is a miss but in realistic terms if we're to buy good new players they'll want to be offered first team football. Rather than play a few games then be replaced until another injury happens. The key answer to this problem people are forgetting is loans, we need a couple of hungry GOOD youngsters from the premiership to come on loan to us for cover. People may have not rated Melis that much last season, but he was versatile and played anywhere in midfield making sure the balance of the squad was still there. As for Puncheon clearly it's a knock that will mean he's in contention for the Plymouth game easily, Richardson we've already got cover in Butterfield and if he gets injured we should get a loan or if a youngster is showing promise what is the harm in putting him in the team it offers an incentive for the young players to work harder to catch the managers eye. Lallana is no doubt a big miss, and frankly we can't get a player of his quality in from the CCC or league one, we'll miss him and thats just one of the unfortunate things that happens. As for the "half arsed" transfer activity, signing 3 players is anything but "half arsed", with 2-3 more to come in. Afterall we signed key players in January. I know it's easy to look over our shoulders and look at who Huddersfield are signing but this squad is much more settled and we don't NEED too many new players, right now it's got the right blend of expierence, talent and youngsters, the key is to have a side that knows each other well and their games well. Too many signings can unbalance a squad, lets remember some of the negatives as well as think throwing cash at a problem is always the solution.
  17. Who do you suggest we have instead?
  18. Alpine abuse towards you is mostly justified because you're an irritating coldsore which spreads constant negativity about Southampton on practically every thread. You call yourself a Southampton fan? You don't do much supporting, you just sit on your fat behind at your PC moaning constantly. "FFS NOT GOOD ENOUGH" thats all you ever seem to say. Most of us enjoy supporting Southampton, win lose or draw, for you where is the pleasure in being a Southampton fan if it brings you no enjoyment whatsoever than to annoy others on a forum with your endless whining and drivvle.
  19. Don't care too much about friendlies. Well done Sutton.
  20. Butterfield played as a makeshift striker against Wolves and scored a hat-trick. So basically he can play EVERYWHERE. Ideal!
  21. No I'm a fan of Cortese and believe the direction he is heading into the club is the right one, but certain things have just slightly irked me. I'm not talking about season tickets or anything like that.
  22. I have a HUGE source for this. But their job would be on the line if I told people publicly. It's mainly in regards to the amount of training the team did during the course of last season, and Cortese's attitude towards staff.
  23. Well my mind has completely changed on Cortese from a VERY good source. God he should keep a better eye on what is going on in the 'football' side of things.
  24. He's done well as a chairman, but he just needs to be a bit better with the communication side.
  25. I wouldn't read too much into a rusty chop and change side losing 4-2 to a Swiss side on pre season. It's a good wake up call, no doubt giving Pardew food for thought. It's better to get the mistakes out of the way early in pre-season so you can learn from them, rather than in the first game of the season. Holiday is over, the real work begins now.
