Exactly. We obviously waited a while and looked around for the BEST possible signing for the budget we have. Rather than just sign ANYONE who can play right back. Things take time and getting the RIGHT players takes time, there's alot of factors involved. We can moan and bleat all we want but what we have to remember is that Pardew KNOWS what we're lacking and what we're needing to go up. There's no doubt in my mind now the right back situation is sorted (Providing harding/mills/dickson could EASILY play there too despite being left footed) he's going to move onto our next area needing some fresh blood and thats upfrong and in the centre of the park. Watch this space in the next two weeks.

Alpine Saint telling someone to get a life when he has 12,828 posts to his name on Saintsweb.co.uk. The sooner that loser gets deleted on here the better.

Waiting on a tribunal fee, it's a pain in the ass. It should come through tommorow morning with press quotes etc.

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

Then you have a hungry youngster like White or Oxide chamberlaine, you can't have 4 strikers all vying for 2 spots, one will get unsettled by being left out constantly. -

Vassell? Meh. His wages would be a joke and we already have enough strikers. -
Or lack of..

A Big Thanks to Papa and Antonio as well.
saintsmike25 replied to ericofarabia's topic in The Saints
The problem with losing both Papa and Antonio is that we now need some pacy replacements on the wings, I think we'll be seeing a right back, a centre mid and a winger/striker come in this transfer window. With possibly a couple of good loans. -
To be fair both of them haven't shone brightly least of all Ian Murray.

Mido has disproven the biggest Myth about him being some kind of money grabbing mercenary, the wages of Hines and Spence are pretty poor compared to Dyer and Boa Morte! if only they could get rid, then the wages wouldn't look too bad and pretty equal.

To Specsavers.

Lets just quote this. "Torres wouldn't get 10 goals in league one" My god some of our fans are complete morons.

Global recession. Key word being GLOBAL and it would have happened under a conservative/labour or whatever government was in charge. Of course there's the argument of "put money away for a rainy day" but would really the party who introduced the schemes that got England into that trouble have done that of course not. I'm just glad John Denham won his seat here.

Davies - First choice keeper and rightfully so - Great season, average game Martin - Played well for his debut, looked better than Fonte today James - Bad game hopefully will be rid although has had good patches this season, just can't find a position for him. Fonte - AWFUL GAME - Great season Lambert - Poor game - Great Season Mills - Has had a decent season and filled in well for Harding, i'd certainly keep him as he will only improve and grow in confidence. Lallana - average game - Great Season Barnard - Good game - Good season Hammond - First choice CM - Good season, average game Semi - Average *sigh* Connoly - Good game, hard to break the partnership of Lambert/Barnard but scores when called upon. Alpine, who there is really a fringe player? Martin was one of our best players yesterday. Mills has had a good season and will improve and is a good player. As for James unfortunately it's sad to see a local lad not being able to cut it. You have to remember Gillingham are VERY good at home and many other teams have lost to them away. Lets remember they are fighting for there lives in league one, and we really had nothing to play for. So take a look at the teamsheet, take a look what people have said and take the circumstances into account. Before rendering some usually worthless negative drivel that happens to be your opinion.

Can you blame them? Long hard season nothing left to play for apart from places for next season.

There's a surprise..

Morgan probably alongside Lambert and Lallana is our best player. But what makes him that extra bit special is he CAN be better than both Lallana and Lambert. Lambert at 28 hasn't got that many years left and is playing on top of his game. Lallana will always be a good goal scoring midfielder whose main fault is his lack of pace and strength but he could make it at a premiership side and is a poor mans Joe Cole. But Morgan? he's the perfect defensive midfielder, superb passing ability, positional sense. Puts his foot in, reads the game perfectly, technically one of the best players in league one. I'll be shocked if we keep him. He's captained France u19 which says something about his talents. But most of us know HE can and will improve, imagine if he takes more shots? just adds a little attacking to his game he would be the perfect midfielder. I can see him playing for a top top side in a few years. It's no wonder Arsene Wenger was looking at him. Top player.

It's often common when managers are frustrated and a result doesn't go there way that Journalists are just a major annoyance who get the wrath of a seething manager. Don't look too much into it, we battered Oldham and didn't win. Sometimes teams can get those back to the walls defensive displays away from home. Afterall when we were in the premiership how often did we do it away?
-
Not too bothered. Play-offs was always a bit unrealistic given the slow start. Happy we gave it out best shot and hopefully next season we can keep most of this team together. Just enjoying supporting Saints in general. Fair play to Oldham who sounded like they defended for there lives and executed a good game plan to stop us. Unfortunately we really missed Morgan I bet. He's our engine.

Just messing.. ^ COYR! Great result lets just fight tooth and nail for each win and hope for others to slip up.
-
Not good enough. Pardew should have bought on a defender. 1-0 against Yeovil just isn't enough. Why wasn't Wotton playing? anyone with two brain cells should see Wotton is one of the most talented midfeilders to ever grace league one for years. Pardew out

John Denham without a doubt. Stood down over the Iraq war and has always turned down the major roles and not been an egotist.

To all those who think we can wait for next season for promotion

Alpine in negative slant shocker. -
You have to be joking. Lambert is a top quality division two striker (I mean League one). Thats all just imagine him against tough world class defences.. No way.
