  1. He didn't get boo'd stop trolling.
  2. Fonte was the best player on the pitch easily, Lambert did play a hand in the goals but so did Antonio (apart from the penalty) but Fonte was just a class above, especially in the first half he made some awesome challenges and took a bit of a battering but like all good centre halves got straight back up and on with the job. Kelvin - 8 Mills - 8 Fonte - 10 Jaidi - 8 Harding - 9 Wotton - 4 Antonio - 9 Waigo - 7.5 Hammond - 7 Lallana - 8 Lambert 9
  3. Maybe Waigo/Goerge Weah? Schneirderlin/Platini Barnard/Linekar Hammond/Gerrard Puncheon/Messi
  4. No the only thing thats seriously wrong is most of your negative drivvle. It's no wonder most people put you on ignore. Sometimes teams go behind, Hartlepool are near the bottom fighting for their lives ever thought that gives them a hell of an incentive to battle like warriers every game? and perhaps go into games hell for metal in search of points. You should know about that being a Saints fan in the premiership we would upset bigger teams sometimes in our battles against relegation.
  5. Jacinto who was absolutely raved about by Glenn Hoddle, then spent his time here in the reserves.
  6. NO! We have good players Semi/James and one of the youngsters, the way I say it emergency loans are for "emergency's" this clearly isn't one.
  7. It's a shame that Jaidi only has at best half a season left in him. He's an absolute beast but his legs can only really take one game every 2 weeks. We're gonna have to get rid sometime next season along with Chris Perry, thats why Pardew is bedding in Seabourne, who should be the understudy to Jaidi.
  8. With our home form we can DO it, but whether our away form will improve I'll say it'll be tight but just off.. we realistically have to win EVERY game and hope a couple of others slip up. Saying that Swindon will go through a bad patch and Huddersfield are even Colchester are starting to look shaky. Millwall and Charlton are dead certs I think. I think these 3 games are vital Bristol Rovers away, Charlton home, Swindon at home.
  9. I hate how people just blame the ref for any bit of misfortune. At the end of the day the referee's are human and will make mistakes, that is life and football unfortunately.
  10. Decisions are always debatable if they go for you or against you. What we have to do is move on. Referee's are apparently a joke at all levels of football.. Never blame the ref the fact is we didn't score or put away our chances or adapt enough on these type of pitches and perhaps that is down to the team not just Pardew. Responsibility should be held down at all levels.
  11. **** happens. We seem to play to our opponents level away on these pitches. But the playoffs were always a long shot given out start. Really not that bothered all I know is that it will fire the team up for the games against Swindon Charlton and Leeds at home.
  12. You have to be joking. This is what I hate a good league one striker and an unknown quality in the premiership or CCC being told by saints fans he's England quality?! No way, I love Rickie he's a great player but his lack of pace or offering anything different than we already have from Defoe/Crouch even Beattie! or Ashley Young or Walcott or Heskey and Gabriel Aghbonohor (sp) Meh be realistic please! Some of our fans make me wonder about the footballing IQ level on here.
  13. We can't afford ANY slip ups and I'm glad that Pardew has given the players that belief that they can beat the big teams. Predicting it and I've predicted it with alot of wins for the likes of Swindon/Charlton/Millwall/Colchester and the Terriers. I'm not being negative far from it, I won't be disappointed if we don't do it we have the team that can build on and take this league by storm next season. But the reality is with performances like dominating the likes of Norwich and Huddersfield and I mean battering them from piller to post we really have the ability win every game. I can see Swindon and Charlton both going on bad runs because they've got some really tough games ahead and we do have the same amount of quality as Leeds if not more as they've had a settled side thats gelled far more than us. But in terms of goals all over the pitch and a solid back 4 we are the best team in this division. Davies - Superb keeper, organises the back 4 and makes unbelievable saves and a great dressing room presence Semi - Still could be a weak link but has filled in that gap at right back which Lloyd James was doing his best to fill and is a NATURAL right back, still rate Murty more shame he's out for the rest of the season. Fonte - CCC Class, without a doubt the best or second best centre back in the division along with Kisnorbo for Leeds. Jaidi - He's a beast, wins everything and a danger from corners his expierence is invaluable we win far more with him in the side and he's too good for this league. Harding - Absolutely solid does EVERYTHING very well, CCC standard easily. Puncheon - The 'spark' thats filled in the final jigsaw piece, a natural winger who can play all over the park and gets to the byline and crosses it and scores goal, he's one of the main reasons we're beating the top 10 sides now, flair wins games sometimes. Hammond - Breaks from the middle, dymanic in every respect easily, but his freedom is created from the main man I think.. Morgan - Doesn't score, his role is the 'deep lying playmaker' breaks things up, breaks up play, has the best passing ability in the division and the vision and the engine, covers SO much ground without a doubt can probably if he's not already premiership standard and i'm praying we keep hold of him, he's the difference in the way we dominate games when he plays. He does so much work which goes by seemingly unnoticed. Lallana - Our own very mini Joe Cole, again not as quick or pacy as Puncheon but positionally he's impossible to mark as he swaps wings and has stupidly quick feet and is suprisingly strong on the ball and is a match winner easily lower prem CCC standard. Barnard - The in the Brett Omerod mould, defends from the front and works his arse off until he's bleeding out of it. But with at this level obvious quality infront of goal, it's hard to say what standard he is but certainly a quality league one player so far. Lambert - Has got better with us due to our style of play and being leaner, wins everything and links the play with deft headers and has great vision and a rocket shot, he is CCC standard, i'd say premiership standard but he does lack the pace to be as effective in that league. But he's the complete CCC package and my player of the season so far. With that first 11, I can't really see player for player apart from Leeds who is better than us now after the transfer window that Pardew has spent VERY wisely even our bench with the likes of James, Seaborne, Waigo and Antonio not to mention Connoly and Murty being easily lower CCC and superb league one quality. We CAN do this but it is SUCH a big ask. Us fans have seen how good we can be and whatever will happen will happen, the biggest thing we know right now that at the end of the season we gave the playoffs and attempting to get to it a damn good shot. The players have responded to whatever Pardew said to them at Wycombe and thats what you want from a team, a team playing for the manager and in unity. Everyone at the club playing wise is happy and gelling and thats what happens eventually, it's taken some time but some of us always knew it would take time for it to click into place.
  14. Barnard is the runner and Lambert in the Beattie mould, but harder working! it's a winning combination and all that with a supersub in the shape of Papa waigo whose pace is a killer for already battered and bruised defences.
  15. I'm really praying we can win this.. But i had a dream we won this 3-2 and guess who popped up in the 86th minute to lash home the winner from 18 yards? Morgan Schneiderlin, with his first and most important goal of the season. COYR!
  16. Lallana and Spiderman will be off.. They've got the biggest potential.
  17. Southend/Oldham/Hartlepool bad conditions & 3-1 wins. Winning away from home is alot harder than at home. What do you expect?
  18. +1 Superb post
  19. I'm just below the blue square south with my hamble side.. after a while realising that I can't do much with 200 season ticket holders gets a bit souless and selling any decent player to the likes of ashworth town or solihull motors started to annoy me. Oh well onwards and upwards for the my youthful side!
  20. I'm pretty terrible, i once had 25-4 in TD. Pure luck because for once the people I played with were pure ****, running and gunning in Favela isn't too hard.
  21. We haven't lost in the league for ages, almost two months. It is frustrating when you don't beat teams you think you should easily beat but Wycombe are picking up a bit of form and beat Millwall and Bristol Rovers recently. The playoffs were a pipe dream given it's only since January Pardew has had a properly settled squad, the pressure is on for next season to take us up and we have to hit the ground running. But go into the rest of this season with the mentality "play to keep your places for next season" even if we did get to the playoffs what people are FORGETTING is that you're not even certain of winning them! whilst our team is good enough without a doubt one bad game and that dream is over. We have to really go into next season with a do or die attitude of only automatic promotion is good enough. One thing that worries me slightly if in our last two games we're in mid-table and no hopes of the playoffs which we won't probably have, I think we should try bedding in some younger players. It's all well and good buying the best players but the likes of Lallana and James were developed by being put into the first team, we also need to have a clear out of alot of players like Lee Molyneux/Lancashire/Thompson/Forecast/Gillet/ who are eating up the wage bill and never playing.
  22. I dunno, I think we need to rest Lambert occasionally.. I'm sure Waigo can partner Barnard upfront and add some extra place, competition for places is healthy no player should rest on there laurels. I wasn't there but i'm not reading too much into it, 4 points from Wycombe and Norwich were to be expected, if we drew against Norwich and beat Wycombe this place would be more positive. It's a reminder to the players they have to be up for every game even on poor pitches and hopefully Pardew has a plan B for bad pitches other than hoof ball which is so frustrating when all our players ARE far better than that!
  23. Thats crap, he's actually a very good goal poacher if you noticed alot of goals have come from feeding off scraps in the area. We need pace upfront and he offers that.
  24. This game vindicates Pardew's 3 defensive signings of Seaborne/Fonte and even Ostemabor to some degree. Whilst Jaidi is a rock at the back him and Perry don't have the pace against decent opponents and they tried there best but couldn't keep up with Pompey's breaks when we were pushing for another equaliser and it WAS the reason they backed off Quincy twice for two of the goals. The game was a great spectacle and every player did the club proud despite the result and the difference was 3 players O'Hara,James, Quincy and possibly a fourth in Bel Haj. What we must remember is despite all our hate of Portsmouth I think it would be sad to see them go out of business as we were in this position too, let them have there day. We'll be like a wounded beast and this result will hopefully fire up the team for a win against Norwich, the scoreline flattered Portsmouth who were second best until we ran out of gas and there pace and fitness started to show. The best thing was the atmosphere I hope we can get crowds like that again for other games it made everyone proud to be a Southampton fan, and the look on Marcus's face told the story he's a true red and white he's got the Saints addiction. COYR!
