What could we catch them on the break with we have two pacy players? they have about 4 or 5. That isn't our game, soaking up pressure at home is NEGATIVE.
-
Lol at the banter with Victor Anichebe.
-
The guy who wrote that plays for my Sunday side Steve Wilson.. I think I'll have a strong word in his ear about those kind of articles mind you that might be one of the last Portsmouth article he'll ever write. He should start getting ready to regular trips to Havant and Waterlooville they'll be our biggest rivals soon.
-
He's not a bad manager and he didn't do badly at his job at Notts either. He's a successful manager infact got England to two quarter finals which is more than MOST England managers. We however DON'T need him in an overly paid role and DOF roles often mean the manager would feel threatened, especially one like Pardew.
-
Not to be negative but WHY didn't Pardew play Waigo? I don't get it Lambert will get complacent if he has a poor game and doesn't feel HE needs to be playing well and scoring to stay in the team. I think we'll give it till the end of the season but Pardews decisions at times in terms of team selection baffle me.
-
Lets face it one minor problem is Pardew just needs to be a BIT more attacking at times. In reality with the -10 playoffs were always a longshot, but who realistically expected that? it took Leeds 3 seasons to go up (thats if they do this season) We're not losing games I think teams are playing for draws against us at there place, and we have to start breaking them down a bit better. Alpine/Delldays/Glasgow Saint/Saint Stevo they can moan all they want on here but LETS face it they don't even go to games yet post on websites like they know ALL about Saints and the way we're playing. There opinions will NEVER be respected because quite frankly they're useless. Take those 4 away and most people have common sense and realistic expectations. It's healthy to have debate but the negative moaning brigade are actually bordering on the insane. Anyway COYR lets beat Pompey & the Dons!

Madsen rejoined Bromby and has scored 5 goals in 40 games for them. Cut above indeed.

Leave the pacy players up - Antonio/Waigo/Lallana sometimes having Lambert back on corners helps as he wins alot in the air (sometimes) -
The funny thing is I don't think any of them go to really ANY games whatsoever, yet post on team matters as if they're the all seeing eye of knowledge about Southampton FC, their opinions really mean nothing they're all miserable sods who drag the forum down. I think everyone is done with Alpine who frankly is nothing but a troll who wants to argue. Glasgow is your typical glass half empty moan about anything, whilst Delldays is a bit less negative yet he's still in the stage where he's a glass half empty chap in reality the rest of the forum are pretty optimistic and happy. I think to balance things out, we SHOULD be doing a bit better in the league against the better sides.

Yeah, i've said before and I'll say it again Waigo upfront is something that Pardew should do again, winning flicks off Lambert and makes GREAT runs despite getting caught off-side and 8 goals when most games he plays out-wide? Has to start the next game, Barnard doesn't sound too promising, I'd say Pardew shouldn't be afraid of resting Lambert. We have 4 quality strikers battling for 2 places.. -

For when Rickie's injured i hope he can take corners & free-kicks from wide James delivery is somewhat erratic. -
-10 January transfer window - 4 new key signings - Team gelling - Lack of pre-season. - Getting rid of losing mentality to a winning won. It's fair to say our "slow" start to the season is the main reason now we'll achieve higher mid-table and miss out on the playoffs but with -10 the playoffs was just a bit of a non-starter in reality, 5 year plan remember hoping to get us up within 2 seasons. Still there's a chance we could go on a run if we get to the JPT final & beat Pompey, we have to play alot of top teams at home lets not forget that, thats gonna be the make or break we HAVE to beat the Swindons/Charltons/Huddersfields/Leeds then if we put away the poorer teams we'll be in with a shout.

Jason Puncheon to Saints according to SSN
saintsmike25 replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
He's young raw and inconsistant but i think we have a gem if he has that flair to produce moments of magic in games, such as at Brentford and against MK Dons, scored the winner to set up a clash against Pompey. His workrate is pretty damn good too, what he lacks is decision making which is what you get from MOST young players, Stevo you're one of those annoying negative posters who just post absolute ****. -
I'm just worried about if he does jump ship and what would happen and that Marcus would jump ship too. I mean what would happen if that happened? I've never seen our fans so determined to keep a chairman it kinda makes a very welcome change! Lets hope the Echo and Cortese sort it out because it's not in anyones real interests to have a childish feud.

James in midfeild - has done well and is growing in stature with every game, was his natural position for the u18 and reserves. Wotton - Battling but doesn't add much and his legs HAVE gone so he just sits deep infront of the defence. Hammond - box to box midfeilder but still lacks a certain cutting thrusting edge he's a lower quality championship player at best. Morgan - Our best midfeilder but unfortunately NEEDS to be told to shoot or at least try it, great passer and will hopefully turn into a great player, has added bottle to his game and tackling ability But what we NEED - Someone to give us a thrust and to take that ball forward and shoot, from the midfeild and dictate play and link up with the strikers like Lallana does on the left side.
-
I agree with you on this one, I always thought Papa was a perfect foil for Lambert upfront and was dangerous on the wing.
-
Far less money to be made in Italy at the moment and Cortese isn't going to leave he's one of Marcus's employee's I'm pretty sure he's on a contract.
-
TV Money & prize money too?
-
Lallana scores 12 goals from the middle and Spiderman is OUR best passer of the ball and has been playing better than Hammond/Wotton/James yet somehow MR "Slag the team off yet never actually watch a game" Somehow calls these two luxury players? Seriously, I'd respect your opinion if it wasn't CONSTANTLY wide of the mark and wrong 99% of the time.
-
Lallana hasn't got the pace to do that but he could always work on his left foot in training to deliver balls in from wide area's so he can at least occasionally TRY to get to the byline to cause trouble it's far too predictable to always cut inside you need different aspects to trouble the full back with.
-
Would be what we need upfront, Lisbie has always reminded me of a more physical version of Stern John. I feel quite sorry for Lambert playing in EVERY game and still think against MK Dons in the second leg at home we should rest Lambert and play Paterson upfront.

Neal Trotman loan move to Huddersfield Town.

Can't judge him on one game any young defender has potential to become cultured.. -
Can we be truly successful with Morgan AND Lallana
saintsmike25 replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Morgan/Lallana/Lambert/Davies/Harding. Without those 5 I don't feel our team would be very good at all this season, of course Jaidi is important but those are the spine of our team.
