  1. I had a little chuckle in reading your reply as that, coupled with the OP's precis of AP's interview, tells me that us fans are not as far wide of the mark as some would have us believe!
  2. I lived off of Sandpiper Rd for 9 years so I know your comment is very much tongue in cheek!
  3. Nice one!
  4. They would, probably, all think the same as the Beast. Which, coincidentally, might be why he could trust them?
  5. Men from boys, wheat from chaff. I'm sure AP is aware of the task ahead.
  6. Didn't miss a home or away game that season, including ALL the FA Cup games (Villa away on a Wednesday night). We were one of the few groups of lads who seemed to get away lightly from Bradford. As you say, it was the Leeds fans who were up for it.
  7. If so then, according to the 2001 census, Eastleigh Borough's Population would swell that 'Greater Southampton Area' by 116,169.
  8. Most definitely not!
  9. When we got off at Eastleigh we were pelted with full beer cans. Luckily none made their intended target. I've never seen a footy fan waste beer, so we knew what was in them. We always had at least two O.B. on our train home, Eastleigh Boys, Winchester Boys, London Reds. Plus the odd few stray opposition if they weren't on a special.
  10. What about the Russians that got there first, but didn't slow down quick enough? ;-)
  11. There were loads of them on the train back through Eastleigh that night. The O.B. had a struggle keeping them away from us. Yet in '77 when a few of us went up there for the pre season tournament we were treated well and hardly bought a round all weekend!
  12. Our ponies being more attractive than their sisters?
  13. 8th biggest in England, 10th in UK http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/questions/population/cities.htm Although Wiki says different http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_towns_and_cities_in_England_by_population
  14. A point made much better than I did. Well said.
  15. Agreed, at least LC put his money where his, sometime excitable, mouth is! Thanks Leon because you gave us that little bit longer for ML to come in.
  16. That second article held this paragraph Quote "The League's *ruling was that the holding company, *stadium *company and club were "inextricably linked", just as Rupert Lowe, twice chairman, is inextricably linked with the club's collapse from top-tier consistency over the past five seasons. "The situation remains treacherous," said Mark Fry, the joint administrator." End quote. I note, so far, that the person mentioned in the paragraph has not been given an apology for it. Will that person have sought one? Or felt better not to pursue it? Given that there is a large element of truth in it? Sanctified in one, then hung, drawn and quartered in the other!
  17. No issues with any of that! Surely it's a code of conduct for any Pro player?
  18. Love it! Got to agree, surely we should have, by now, curbed our cynicism? I'm one of the worst but even I feel a sense of optimism!
  19. Also my opinion. Although I can understand my now dead grandmother (born at the turn of the 20th Century) disbelieving.
  20. RIP and thanks to you and your colleagues over the years who ensured our freedom. A rest, well earned.
  21. Apart from Duncan Holley and all the Hagiology folk it would pay someone to talk to Herbie Taylor, the stadium tour guide, he has a wealth of knowledge which could be drawn upon.
  22. What? No Jeff Stelling and MLT!
  23. Delldays out!
  24. Alan Pardew's Red & White Army! Welcome aboard Alan.
  25. A truly strange comment considering some of the trolls we have that frequent this particular forum!
