  1. I read / saw that its £44m up front with the rest as add-ons, so does that mean QPR get 20% of £44m (8. leaving Liverpool with just £2.7m?!!! Straight swap really......
  2. 20000 and counting...
  3. Good post. He is clearly a good player and has been very important for us but I think those results prove that our team is evolving and becoming less reliant on one or two exceptional players and a stronger all round team who also have the belief that they can win when the perceived best player is not in the team unlike we have been used to. Clasie will bring us a different dimension in terms of passing and I think in terms of speed of ball movement and hopefully help our speedier front men. #wemarchon
  4. Spurs fan and Class....not possible.
  5. I think the problem for Morgan and for us is that he is a very good player who probably hasnt reached his peak yet but may not have much improvement left and is not a regular starting international. This means that there are others who are as good or better and I think its unlikely that a foreign club will be willing to pay any more than 15-20m for him. Therefore unless Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea or City are willing to pay 25m+ we seem unlikely to sell. I hope he goes and we get thst sort of miney and buy a couple to replace him - Clasie and Wijnuldrum (or whatever his name is) seem like the ideal scenario!

The fact is that they are a bigger club than us but they are not as big as they think they are!! Apart from perhaps the odd season or two here and there we will one of the big 4 or 6. Based on our fanbase /capacity we have less chance of breaking into that group than clubs like Everton, Leeds, Newcastle and Sunderland but based on our Academy and business strategy we seem to have a much better opportunity than them at this time. As such unless we had a fanbase of 40-50k who we knew for sure would turn up every week we do not need that size ground and therefore we are limited in some regard. Our way of progressing and attempting to have that one or two good season is by training our own, selling the odd one or three for very decent money and by buying players who are devloping s othat for 2-3 years we get them and then sell to fuel the whole process and on it goes. This my friends is our reality....
  7. bertrand out for a few weeks so this guy is cover for three defensive positions according to RK
  8. Depends how much they want to spend. All this concern we have ni money is ridiculous. Simple maths tells you that.
  9. Exactly. Not confirmed BY the club. As I said. Clueless.
  10. I've missed that quote..please share
  11. Because he's good. Why are you so clueless?

Atletico Madrid buying Jackson Martinez.....hopefully means they've finally agreed to sell Toby to us....from a financial perspective!
  13. that was Jimmy Case. Its a shame but we've had him here far longer than most players stay at one club and to be fair he deserves the chance to be playing CL. His ability is a little above the level of the club. We still have Victor and Reed and others and I have no doubt that we will bring someone decent in if not two.
  14. there is absolutely no point in getting hung up over the "reported price" because it will be officially " undisclosed. The press almost always make it sound like the "bigger" club has got the better deal to maintain the perception and because media outlets like sky would rather p*** off 50,000 Saints fans than 200,000 Liverpool fans in their reporting. Whatever it is, the club are happy to take it so lets move on with players who want to be here. What matters is the overall balance of the books and the overall strength in quality and numbers of the squad. What you may perceive we "lost" on one deal we may well "make" on another.
  15. I think if we get him for 2-3m its a good option and probably the best we could get for that amount. He has played to a high level and even though he did not play particularly well for a lot of the time he was here he clearly has some talent. Players rarely show their best when on loan...the stability of a contract and being able to get a home is not to be underestimated in the performance of a player.
  16. TAKE 12.5M AND RICKIE, WILL SIT ON OUR BENCH BUT A GREAT OPTION
  17. for who/what?
  18. sometimes the value of having a particular player is not just on match day but what they can add during the week to younger players. Koeman has been quoted previously as saying he is not adverse to having a more experienced player to help with the development and education of younger ones...perhaps Cabaye is this player.

Exactly this. A great CB but also very useful in DCM and RB. I wouldn't complain if he cost 15-20m.
  20. Get him in for 5-7m and then sell Clyne for double to Liverhampton
