Think again again. The DT's views are deeply embedded in the various 'awkward squad' factions in the parliamentary Tory party, including the tax cutters (led by Rees Mogg), the anti-lockdown Covid Research Group, and of course the usual suspects among Brexiters demanding still ever harder Brexit. With the Tories' parliamentary majority, the real threat to the government comes from the circular firing squad of the governing party's own leading lights (or dimbulbs). But that doesn't make these members any less a part of the government. The DT is the Tory party talking to itself. On the other hand, the DT until late last year published a weekly supplement in its main newspaper which was directly paid for by the Chinese government and which contained unalloyed Chinese Communist Party propaganda. Shocking but true - and an indication of how utterly cynical, and weird, are some of the billionaire owners of these media companies

Would that be the same BBC that's under constant attack from the Tories, including its most senior ministers? And the Daily Mail sets its own agenda which the government is too often keen not to cross. We do not have 'state controlled media' in this country and it's a bit childish to think we do. That doesn't mean anyone should get a free pass, because, for example, too many of the 'legacy' media companies are deeply divisive, cynical and manipulative. There's a correlation between countries we're Murdoch owns dominant media and the presence of right-wing populist politics. But 'state controlled'? Really no.

Which media organisation in the UK is 'state controlled'?

You're pure evil, MLG. You know perfectly well that if Turkish watches this he'll self-immolate.

Everyone knows what you're thinking sunshine. You've splurged it out all on here, in nearly 40,000 posts

Does your husband know what you're up to?

Whoa there Trigger. This always ends one way. He's right and you're wrong.

He was dropped (he's also club captain) for their most recent game, and Pearson was coy about why. Of course, could be heading somewhere else.

Try this. Watch the goal, then reread Otttawa's post, then plead with the mods to delete this and pray no-one quotes you

Which according to the local MSM is 'bizarre' - by which they mean, it seems, it's close to illegal that a League 2 side defeats an inadequate League 1 side https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/how-portsmouth-became-the-latest-victim-of-a-bizarre-fa-cup-trend-after-defeat-to-harrogate-town-joining-sunderland-wycombe-lincoln-and-doncaster-3482890

Is there anything about that word - that word in particular - that you might want to reconsider?

He was never going to get to Adams, and had already appealed for the offside so was presumably banking on it being called

Disappointing news. I wanted Lampard at Norwich as much as I wanted Howe at Newcastle and Gerrard at Villa.
-
Wait until January, by which time Gerrard will have torpedoed the club into the relegation zone

How many premier league teams apart from us are actually up for sale? There must be a few.
-
Quelle surprise. They just played us and lost.

Did we get a result in that one too?
