One thing I can not quite get my head around: if spying is such an offence that it's considered reasonable to penalise a club for potentially £100m+, and damage the career of a manager, why isn't the practice simply outlawed? What makes it a gargantuan crime to spy within the last three days before a game, but completely fine and dandy on the fourth day before a game?
