Surely you don't put up a post every time someone sends you a Saints related text? Either this text was from somebody you know to be well informed or connected, or it was idle speculation from some mate of yours who is no more likely to know the truth than you or I. If it was the former, say so - if it was the latter, then you need shooting.

Did he get it wrong with Pardew? Maybe not from a footballing perspective. He seems to have made it very clear in his revealing question time the other night that the dismissal of Pardew (and co) was a sudden and unavoidable decision based on non-football related matters. You cannot legislate for that type of thing when selecting a suitable candidate without a crystal ball. If it turns out that Adkins (if he does come) turns out to be a complete waste of space I will be very disappointed of course - but at the moment I am satisfied to think that the Chairman will/has make the best decision based the interviews he has conducted. Adkins may not be the big name many people wanted, but I don't think there is any reason to fear the worst just because of that. You said: Don't you think it is therefore slightly ironic that you are getting the hump with me because I am disagreeing with you? If not Adkins, then who would you have as the ideal candidate for the job? Who do you think has all the attributes that you think Adkins is missing - including the essential attribute of being here for the long haul and not just chucking it when something better comes along (or when the Chairman pis5es him off)?

I would like to see him play in order to form an opinion, but for the reasons you state I haven't been able to. Mills doesn't fill me with confidence though TBH because he has been largely ineffective when he has come on. If Adkins gets in it will be interesting to see if Mills starts getting the nod to start the game.....he seemed to like him on loan at Scunny.
