  1. I would stick with the same formation as against Manure, maybe swap Fonte with Yoshida depending on fitness and use different subs. Glad there is a 2 week break as it gives time for the team to reflex on the last few games and focus on our weak points.
  2. Yoshida should start for Fonte, unless he is not 'Saints fit'. Would also like to see Ramirez start but with the game Puncheon had yesterday he deserves to start against Arse.
  3. I feel sick.
  4. Fox, Fonte and Clyne's studs are the weak links in our team. Puncheon, Lallana, Morgan and Rickie having a good game. I'll take this score as a result but have this feeling we might just get a little more out of this game. Clyne should go to LB with Richardson RB, also hope to see Lee and Mayuka some time in the second half
  5. SAF has said he will start with Buttner as Evra injured himself in training. We should take full advantage of this and put loads of pressure on him as he most likely will be their weaker link in defence. Also have this small feeling might just get something out of this game. ---------------- Davis--------------- Clyne ----- Fonte-----Hooiveld----- Shaw ------- Morgan ------ Davis------ Puncheon ----- Lallana ------- Lee --------- Rodriguez------- Subs: Gazza, Yoshida (can he play?, either Seaborne), JWP, Lambert, Richardson, Mayuka, Shaw Lambert to come on for Rodriquez around the 60th min (same tactic as against City)
  6. 3 of my mates are season tickets holders at Ajax, and according to them Boilesen has pace, has a good cross, can tackle, is strong and can play CB as LB. The major downside to him is that he is very injury prone, has had many muscle and ankle injuries. They also cant see Ajax selling him for as little as 5 million, if he can shake of his injuries he has the possibility to become a very good player. (the last LB we bought from Ajax was old Jelle van Damme)
  7. Bringing Redkrapp back to St Mary's would be the most stupid thing Cortese could possibly do! (I doubt he would actually do that in a million years) Unless he replaces Adkins with Pep Guardiola, it would be big mistake and a ridiculous thing to do dismissing Nigel.
  8. CB: Yoshida (VVV Venlo) CB: Loan from top Primera Division/Serie A club AM: Ramirez AM: Phillips Sell/loan out Sell: Hammond, Championship club. Loan: Dickson, League one club, season long loan. Loan: De Ridder, Championship club, 3 month loan. Loan: Chambers, Championship club, 6 month loan.
  9. Anyone else having problems with the new OS? After a few seconds on the page it goes blank and says its connecting (and remains like that). I am using Mozilla with ad block.
  10. COYR we can beat them!
  11. Decent first half, Lallana, Guly, Clyne and Schneiderlin looking good. Defence are standing well and the midfield look strong playing the ball around, link up to the attack needs to improve.
  12. The Buttner deal was all down to Buttner, his dad, agent and Vitesse making a mess of it. In a Dutch football magazine (VI) there is report about the whole saga and who did what. If I have the time I will ask a friend to help me translate it, makes a interesting read.
  13. We were ace! I am so proud of all the players, shame we lost due to little defensive error. But most of all WE ARE BACK!
  14. 35 minutes to go and I am a nervous wreck, this game is going to be terrible for my health. COYR, great line up and sad to see Rickie on the bench but he will get his chances this season.
  15. Can't wait for tomorrow! Sadly can't watch the game but will be checking my phone every few seconds. Don't expect us to get anything out of this game but as long as we go down fighting and show some nice passing I will be happy. Can't imagine how the players and Adkins must be feeling right now.
  16. Just when you thought the deal was dead, Dutch media are reporting that we have contacted Vitesse again and have renewed are interest in signing Buttner. http://www.vi.nl/nieuws/225921/Nieuw-bod-Southampton-op-verbannen-back-Buttner.htm (VI are usually a well informed source)
  17. Not linked but left back Simon Poulsen CDAJFU. Played 4,5 years for AZ Alkmaar and left at the end of last season, was linked to Valencia, AC Milan and Ajax. Apparently turned Ajax down as he is looking for a club in Spain, Italy or here. (don't look him up on Youtube, they don't have his best moments)
  18. After the Ajax game I was optimistic for the coming season, after this result I am a little worried for City game. Against Ajax the link between defence and midfield was good but we were poor in the final third, from what I have read it seems like we had the same problem today. City will be very tough but since Adkins has been here he always has had us well prepared so I am confident we will have a decent start.
  19. No Hammond, De Ridder, Stephens, Seaborne and Do Prado? Could this be the team we are playing against City next week? If so well done to James Ward-Prowse for stepping up and being in contention for a start against them.
  20. Has Royston Drenthe been mentioned? Can play LB and LM, available on a free transfer and has played in the PL. Only problem is his attitude and he is likely to want high wages.
  21. Darren Kenton! Played a blinder once against Chelsea.
  22. Rickie looked out of form in the match against Ajax, hope he picks up his form soon, I have a bet on Lambert being top scorer of the English players this season.
  23. 1-0 Bristol City (Stead)
  24. #SaintsFC side to face Bristol City: Davis, Clyne, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox, Ward-Prowse, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Puncheon, Rodriguez, Lambert. #SaintsFC subs vs Bristol City: Gazzaniga (GK), Richardson, Seaborne, Hammond, Sharp, Guly, Chambers, S. Davis, Cork, Chaplow, De Ridder.
  25. Another short Buttner update. Buttner,s agent Aleksander Bursac has said in a interview with local paper De Gelderlander that they are trying to have Buttner,s contract with Vitesse terminated. Rumours are that the third party is Buttner,s dad who wants a percentage of the transfer fee for guiding him in times (this was not in Buttner,s contract). I think even if he does get his contract terminated (highly unlikely) we wont sign him. The damage has been done and I cannot imagine the club wanting to deal with someone who is causing such a scene at his current club.
