  1. After the Ajax game I was optimistic for the coming season, after this result I am a little worried for City game. Against Ajax the link between defence and midfield was good but we were poor in the final third, from what I have read it seems like we had the same problem today. City will be very tough but since Adkins has been here he always has had us well prepared so I am confident we will have a decent start.
  2. No Hammond, De Ridder, Stephens, Seaborne and Do Prado? Could this be the team we are playing against City next week? If so well done to James Ward-Prowse for stepping up and being in contention for a start against them.
  3. Has Royston Drenthe been mentioned? Can play LB and LM, available on a free transfer and has played in the PL. Only problem is his attitude and he is likely to want high wages.
  4. Darren Kenton! Played a blinder once against Chelsea.
  5. Rickie looked out of form in the match against Ajax, hope he picks up his form soon, I have a bet on Lambert being top scorer of the English players this season.
  6. 1-0 Bristol City (Stead)
  7. #SaintsFC side to face Bristol City: Davis, Clyne, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox, Ward-Prowse, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Puncheon, Rodriguez, Lambert. #SaintsFC subs vs Bristol City: Gazzaniga (GK), Richardson, Seaborne, Hammond, Sharp, Guly, Chambers, S. Davis, Cork, Chaplow, De Ridder.
  8. Another short Buttner update. Buttner,s agent Aleksander Bursac has said in a interview with local paper De Gelderlander that they are trying to have Buttner,s contract with Vitesse terminated. Rumours are that the third party is Buttner,s dad who wants a percentage of the transfer fee for guiding him in times (this was not in Buttner,s contract). I think even if he does get his contract terminated (highly unlikely) we wont sign him. The damage has been done and I cannot imagine the club wanting to deal with someone who is causing such a scene at his current club.
  9. Great effort by the girls, the noise from the crowd gave me goosebumps. Looking forward to the time trails later this afternoon and the swimming this evening, Come on GB.

  11. Who ever decided we should have these warehouses here should be banned from the city. I reckon if you offer those warehouses a place outside the city where they are easy accessible from the motorway they would take it. Then redevelop the plot by building town houses like on Carlton Crescent, some as houses, some as apartments. Living close to the city centre and the water will appeal to many.
  12. This. Why do the council have plans drawn up for the city if they cant afford it? I have seen two complete different plans drawn for Mayflower park over the last years, it must cost them a fortune to have the plans drawn. Most recent design, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-12575595 Posted in 2008, I like this one, http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=703670
  13. Likes: The Common, the parks in and around the centre (except Mayflower), Below Bar, New Forrest, the area around King Edward school, the old city walls. Dislikes: Central Station and the buildings around it (Norwich house?), Millbrook, The out of town shopping centre in the centre, West Quay (good shopping, horrific building), THE CITY PLANNERS, most roads, the pier, the waterside (ffs it has so much potential, why don't the planner notice that?) the new modern design buildings, stick to Victorian!, the Itchen bridge (its so ugly).
  14. A mate of mine knows a few players from Vitesse and NEC Nijmegen, he also knows Buttners brother. And Badger, if you want some good CB in the Eredivisie look no further than Niklas Moisander and Nick Viergever from AZ Alkmaar. Vlaar is a good CB but slow and has had 2 serious knee injuries, Gouweleeuw is young and talented but has little experience.
  15. This is a must win game for me. I am driving over with a mate (who is a Ajax season ticket holder) and have been telling him for ages that we play like Barcelona.
  16. The reason that the deal didn't go ahead is down to Buttner. After agreeing a deal with us and only a medical away Buttner decided it was a good idea to talk to some other clubs to see if he could get a better deal. After we found this out, and that other clubs would pay him more and also have to pay Vitesse less for Buttner, the board decided they wanted to renegotiate the transfer sum with Vitesse.
  17. What we need is another British team with similar set up to Sky built around Cavendish, then we could have Cavendish and Froome challenging for the green and yellow jersey (reckon Geraint Thomas is another possible contender for the yellow jersey in years to come)
  18. Niklas Moisander is a great player and now Jan Vertonghen has left the best CB in the Eredivisie. Ajax are/were interested in him, AZ want 6 million Euro for him (bargain imo)
  19. That sprint was ridiculous, the look on Sanchez,s face after seeing Cavendish pass. This sprint reminded me of the final stage of the 2009 Tour.
  20. Tomorrows stage is a big one, after the last summit its a 20 kilometre ride downhill to the finish. I am expecting Nibali and Sagan to be very strong so Wiggins, Froome and the rest of the Sky team have to try and loose him on the climb. Very much looking forward to this stage (after this stage its just 2 mountain stages left)
  21. Does anyone know the line up? Do the players in the Academy get taught to play the Southampton Way? And are they taught skills and passing (something England lack) like on the continent? Just wondering.
  22. (in reply to Raging Bull,s question)
  23. Working in the Netherlands (I grew up in the Netherlands). Hope to move back to the Southampton area next year once I have gained more experience, the competition in the UK is far bigger and tougher, though the possibilities are greater I find.
  24. Fitness instructor and Personal Trainer, love the job, though the pay isn't that great (very poor to be precisely)
  25. Dutch media are reporting a that the deal was worth around 4 million Euro. Lets hope he doesn't block Shaw,s progress to the first team.
