Anyone know what the training sessions under Martin look like? Wouldn't be surprised if the Keepers and Defence spend the first hour on their own, the midfield and attackers do the same and then they finish with half an hour of attack v defence. No cohesion between the two groups at all.

Don’t mind his general commentary through the game but could do without the hyperbole (‘Declan Rice, Arsenal for life.’) when there’s a goal.

So all the Sunderland fans go to bed with hope but wake up in a terrible mood when they see their best player has left. Much more ready to turn on their team when they haven’t seen any of the ball in the first 15 minutes of their early kick off.

Think we’re going down the route of a club captain (Stephens) supported by a leadership group of Bednarek, Walker-Peters, Downes and Adams this year. Opportunity for one or two others being involved but seems to be sensible instead of having a captain that needs to start week in week out.

There’s been a lot of public talk about how Che’s attitude has been great. Might be wrong but feels like some positive reinforcement for when we keep hold of him and roll out the line of no club meeting our valuation. We’ll then be expecting him to continue with that brilliant attitude for the rest of the season.

Next you’ll be advocating us signing a keeper that only saves shots but doesn’t do much else.

Remember that game well. Bloke who must have been in his 50s in front of us stuck a balaclava on after we scored and rushed to threaten the Bristol City fans. After a minute or so, went back to his seat (about 5 metres from the segregation) and took the balaclava off again as if they wouldn’t see who had just been offering to fight them after the game.

Also wishing we’d paid higher upfront fees for Edozie, Bazunu and Larios or is it only if they turn out to be top class?
