To add to my post - I have a couple of Coldplay tracks on an ipod so can't be considered a fan in any way but I have been to a great many festivals going back as far as the original IOW late sixties and seventies and to not accept that Coldplay did everything that was necessary to produce a classic festival performance is the sign of never having been further than a tv screen to see a band. Not even necessary to like a band to appreciate a performance unless you're so precious about your own presumption of your own 'cool image' that you won't let yourself be seen to admit to it....anyone's ears burning?

I did say I'd give it ten minutes mate.... -
They owned the festival...feel sorry for those that have to follow that...and I'm not really a Coldplay fan. U2 were very pleased with themselves...quelle surprise but they were outshone by last night.

In our workplace the name P****mouth brings a written warning if uttered...the P*mpey word is acceptable along with the appropriate spitting sounds...perhaps the OS can also not bring themselves to print the actual name in case it infects something.

Or professional and hard nosed in our dealings. Think it's a bullsh*t post but were it to be true I'd be well happy...agents are leeches on the modern game.

Hollands Wood was good when I took the kids a couple of years back...Balmer Lawn Hotel was next door - which was my stipulation in case things turned wet. Was good though...a bit more among the trees than a lot of them.

National Debt: Maybe the Tories are wrong afterall

Hmm - it's often levelled at the last administration that they levied 'stealth' taxes and certainly the tax burden was moved around during this period in a less than transparent manner. Look a little further back though to the Thatcher/Major years and you'll see that despite the sell-off of the State owned nett contributors such as BT, Water, Oil, Electricity and Gas suppliers (NB I have left out the loss makers such as BR etc to retain the balance) this money was not used to reduce the overall government deficit to make the debt more sustainable. It was used to fund tax cuts, largely to business, in the ideological belief that by doing so that the economy would be stimulated and create wealth from the top down...uh huh! This might have been a viable proposition had the companies taken the profits and used them for expansion of real jobs, real money and future-kindly state of the art technology. Instead we saw the unsustainable swell of the FTSE value and the service based financial industry that got in to so much trouble close on three years ago. Brown missed the opportunity to regulate the industry along with most of the world's financial leaders but the root cause..blame if you like, has to be laid at the door of the previous administration for creating a system that was, from the outset, exploited by financiers who know a quick buck when it's presented to them on a plate. Somewhere in this thread there is a wonderful example of the way the financial system is built on very little other than minimal money and maximum credit...think it relates to transactions on a street in Ireland but if anyone can find it please repost it? -

At the risk of being accused of using Dune as a whipping boy - he doesn't do reasoned argument. Bland platitudes that don't shake his ill-considered dogma as demonstrated above are what you must expect....cue some Farage drivel wrapped up in an anti-socialist slogan?
