5-5 would have been a fair result. Keep the Faith Norwich are SO in for it on Saturday. COYS

26.12.70 - Boxing Day. Arsenal away. White pitch, blue lines, orange ball. Constant Arsenal pressure with Eric Martin a hero and Hughie Fisher nearly nicking it for us. 0-0.

As long as it remains mathematically possible, then I'm sure the team will be giving it 110% for the gaffer. (Wins 'best in show' rosette for stating the blindingly obvious through use of football cliches).=D>

David Niven has just scored for Elgin - I say, how suave.

It's quite simple - every game apart from ours needs to be a draw.

The decision is made, the deed is done. Can't believe the rail price from Taunton (£130)so will be driving and staying overnight at the York Hotel. -
And anyway, we don't put pressure on them. We are supportive and positive, we don't get on their backs. I would have thought that that would encourage and relax them. If they are made nervous by our presence then your mate needs to tell them to chill out, because there really is no need. We are the 12th man. :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 :smt041 Any road up, they'll have to get used to it because crowds are increasing!!

Do we have to? - I'm quite settled now.

Blimey, that's crap. I thought the BBC had a World Service, and it's not as if your in Outer Mongolia, it's Oz ffs! Perhaps one of the IT whizzos on here can get it on You Tube or download it and send it to you? I've just tried to download it from the BBC site but it won't let me. I presume then that Saints Player is UK only too.

Can you not get on the BBC website? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/default.stm

I was a Knight of Camelot for 25 years, man and boy. Hardest game in the world.

I'm an ST holder and I totally agree. Those that go get 1st dibs. Problem is, if you bought a ticket at the window, how does the club record this in your name. I buy online so there is a record in my account. I guess you don't throw your ticket stub away!

Well, really... Now I'm pretty broad-minded and not normally offended by much at all being a man of the world and all that.. But, well, really!!

Pardew on the OS - Morgan and Wayne fit. Murty has done some training today.

I wish England would stop playing for a year or ten to give us some small respite from their predictable embarrassing results. They have absolutely no mental strength. I used to love watching England play cricket but now I try to ignore them as much as possible. The ex player pundits are just as bad, taking obvious glee from sticking the knife in at every opportunity. And before anyone says 'well we won the Ashes', that was the biggest fluke in English cricketing history, and was a hair's breadth away from being a record breaking embarrassment.

Gaining a new manager can have a positive effect, but it is by no means a curse. I believe we are at a point now where we do not need to worry about the opposition in this league as there are no big surprises out there. As long as we play as we have been doing lately we know we will score goals and win matches.

:smt082 What an image. Were you gently tapping your slippered feet and calmly smoking your pipe?

It doesn't seem take much for the ball to start slowing in the wet at SMS as I noticed on Wednesday, especially towards the Chapel end, and that was only light, if persistent, rain. I really noticed it when watching the game replay on Sky yesterday.

Most of the match was shown this afternoon on Sky Sports 3, so may be on again later, worth checking.
