By then it was ok, I'm talking about the late 70s early 80s. Having looked at some old diaries I reckon it was probably winter 1982/3 when I was at College at Weymouth. The film I'm thinking about was in B/W and set in Sheffield. The film (not a video) arrived in someone's van and wasn't very long. I got to know about it through a mate who ran Weymouth's first video shop, as he was involved in getting it through contacts in that world. Having read the Wiki link I wonder if this was an original that was subsequently picked up and remade?

The local Birmingham commentary on SaintsPlayer is so one -eyed, very entertaining. He wanted to kill Ngog for the penalty dive, going spare!!!

by Raymond Briggs, same bloke who did The Snowman and others.

LOL AFC Wimbledon fans at Millwall singing 'you ground's too big for you'

Oh Aye, everything is our fault LOL. I kind of got used to it and mostly it was banter but after 10 years it did grate somewhat!

Yeah but the last line's a bit naff and unrelated to the rest of the song anyway so maybe change that too. I've done my bit!

You can vary the 2nd line if he's a substitute to 'look who's coming on'

Haye's just turned up at the New Den, - bloody hell, Millwall have got some 'ard fans.

I remember seeing that. It was banned from Cinemas and TV and we saw it, I think, in a room in Weymouth Hotel, off-season. All very furtive and secretive as there was a genuine fear of being found out watching it by the OB because of the CND hatred from Maggie.

He should have left at the end of last season as it was clear they had massively overachieved. He'll pick up the Hull job or something similar in the winter Premiership cull, I expect.

Just need to find out what MK Dons are doing.

Yes it was strange and surprising that something that looked like it would be there forever and perhaps take another war to remove, suddenly disappeared almost overnight with the most gentle of metaphorical pushes.

Sorry can't say - oh what a giveaway!! Yes, he was in CSOS (Civil Service Overseas Services) after serving in comms in the RAF during WWII.

We lived on a council estate in Whiteley Crescent. I went to Holne Chase Primary School and my old man worked at Bletchley Park. We left when I was 9 in 1963 as he got posted to Singapore.

Dr Who introduces Mark Fry as his latest companion before leaving in the Tardis, having received word that the Dalek Empire has gone into administration.

Perhaps try and get him to understand that this is the nature of sport. It's about competition and it will always be this way throughout his sporting life. He can either be upset, or he can choose to do something about it and fight back.

Got my bit. I spend my days climbing over it.

99% of the football/sectarian related violence in Glasgow goes on between Monday-Friday in the early hours. Murders average about 10 per year.

That's nothing - I had a bath once at a Premiership game and there were extended highlights on MoTD. Hansen said I was 'tight at the back'.

Exactly. I witnessed that kind of thing at Celtic (and other teams eg Hibs) first hand many times when I lived up there. Republican extremists have no mainstream media platform at the moment, so are reduced to this. To be honest, few up there are bothered by it as it has been part of daily life for ages. The bombs have stopped and this is what remains, very much the lesser of the 2 evils. Rangers fans respect the silence once a year but a faction spend the rest of the season spouting vitriolic Orangeman stuff themselves (you can buy the tapes outsides the ground if you wish). There are 2 sides to this problem, and without sounding pious, unless you've lived in Glasgow for any length of time, and got to know people on both sides of the fence (pun intended), you'll only get a 'tip of the iceberg' understanding of it. It is inbred into families. However, a warning - keep them out of the EPL or it will start to manifest down here over time.
