  1. I wondered about that but the programme notes make no mention.
  2. In the match programme it shows the Southern Section split into two Regions - East and West. If we can only play teams in the West Region, then it's either Hereford, Swindon or Northampton for us. MK Dons, Charlton and Norwich are in the East Region so at least two of those three will be gone by the area final.
  3. I know - the bit where he broke down in tears was heart rending.
  4. Sky Sports list used the word 'shareholder' in the title - does this mean they are not including outright owners?
  5. It's like herding cats
  6. Needs to pull his socks up (see what I did there)? Actually thought he did well and would try him again son.
  7. I noticed that every time the ball went above the floodlights it was much harder to see - (and that happened a lot!!!). I missed the penalties as I had to get the last train home (watching the reports on here as I walked back from the ground), but we should have been 4-0 up after 12 minutes. After that I was just hoping that nobody got injured, what with a league game just 3 days away. I understand the interest in this competition but with the small, work in progress competitive 1st team that we have at the moment and bookings mounting up and not much cover (as discussed above by many), games like that could conspire against us (eg Kelvin/Post incident). I would have done an Arsene Wenger and put out a team of reserves/fringe/promising academy players for this stage of the competition - a chance for them to prove themselves and avoid the cull. Once we get past January and have a deeper 1st team squad, then fine. And before anyone hits me with the 'does that mean you won't go to Wembley etc etc' line - of course, that's why I left work early, travelled 300 miles to and from a game I knew I wouldn't see all of and walked 5 miles home in the ****ing rain from the station at my end at 1 in the morning. My concerns are the 'here and now' - we are starting to produce in League 1 and I for one do not want anything to jeopardise that.

  11. Welding rods Coal & Oil combined from a hot steam engine Petrol Breweries from a distance (roasted hops) Barbecues
  12. There is no direct train service from Manchester to Oldham as the Oldham Rail Loop is shut from October 4th -2011 as it's being converted into the Metrolink System. An intensive bus timetable operates from Central Manchester, journey time 30-45 minutes to central Oldham. Services 181 and 182 pass by the ground. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/additional_info/OldhamLoop.html From this page you can download the bus info as PDFs. Ron's on board
  13. 1 month - not sure I see the benefit in that unless there's an option to sign?
  14. Oh well, try and be philosophical about it - nothing lasts forever.

  16. My grandparents used to live at 83 Stornaway Road, Southend. They're not there now so don't bother calling round.
  17. The bloke who sits next to me in the Itchen knows someone who was close to the lino and apparently he signalled a goal from Lambert's header.
  18. We need a conductor, stood on a small plinth suspended from the front edge of the stand roof. As i am going to take up the offer of moving from the Itchen, I can do this job - I have my own bib and tucker doncha know and I'm sure I can find a conductor's stick from somewhere!!

  22. I'm a first time ST holder in Block 5 and since i've been able to go to away matches for the last year I've really got back into the singing thing - so I'm off to block 37 to add my dulcid tones to the throng. Filling the corner in with 'singers' will form a physical link to the Kingsland Stand and encourage even more of the Kinsland North to sing and increase the volume considerably. However, I don't see why they should make Blocks 4 & 5 all STs though, surely this is all about singing, not how you pay to watch a game.
  23. Are we still in debt?
  24. So I can get the last train home, as long as it doesn't go to extra time!
  25. Metric or Whitworth? Open or ring? Flogging or adjustable?
