The all-new relegation prices thread (2020/21 edition)
Singapore Saint replied to tisspahars's topic in The Saints
Call me controversial but I'd have Puel back in a heartbeat. He knew how to pace a game, keep a tight defence and grind out wins, which is more than can be said for your beloved Ralph. Ralph is a one-trick pony who has been fortunate to have Armstrong, Ings and JWP who happens to be on form with his freekicks. -

Will Ralph really be gone if we lose the next 10 games? He seems to be concubine no. 1 for half the fan base and the club have not issued the poisonous statement, "We have every faith in him." -
Are you serious or is your Portugalness showing?

I remember last season Sheffield Utd briefly topping the table and dropping like a stone thereafter, see where they are now and where Saints could be next season!

It wasn't just the fact we lost, it was the way we did lose. Not to mention the number of unwanted records. Surely the board have to consider a change at the top. Who to replace with? A) Tony Pulis (available and might have a soft spot for Saints on account of his son having played for us) B) Nigel Pearson (available and DAJFU before) C) Mark Hughes (available and DAJFU before but what irony!) D) Kazakhstani relegation expert Itsan Emer Gency E) ?

Armstrong is a better Redmond, that's all.
-
9-0 again! Newcastle down to 9 men and we score 0 goals 😡
-
Redmond is the most ponderous player in the world, I hope he never puts on a Saints shirt again 😡

Don't put too much stock into what happened last night. It was a freak result. One of the commentators said Man Utd's big win against Saints wouldn't make up for their shock loss to Sheffield Utd as far as the title race was concerned. In other words, look at the big picture. And the big picture where Saints are concerned is we're doing pretty well this season. If you thought Jankewitz's youthful over-exuberance was disastrous, recall that Germany's Michael Ballack got an unnecessary second yellow card in the semi-final of the 2002 World Cup which cost him his place in the final and Germany the title as they couldn't overcome the loss of their midfield general, eventually losing 2-0 to Brazil. Hopefully Jankewitz will benefit from his steep learning curve and repay Saints with many years of excellent service. These things happen and unfortunately lighting does strike twice.

On the contrary, you'll hear about the Leicester game twice as often - every time we play Leicester and Man Utd 😭

This team has:
-
I'm not Japanese (although I'm often mistaken for one) but I'll tell you that the Japanese are utterly professional, they never moan (did we ever hear Yoshida moan, no), have a fantastic work ethic, will do whatever the manager says, and are always willing to learn and to improve. I hope Minamino will be the inspired loan that KWP was.

So on that basis Gareth Bale should stay with Spurs, no matter how little Mourinho plays him. Better still, Bale should return to the mighty Saints, his spiritual home.
-
He's convinced me he ain't the one.
-
Does it mean we're not getting any money for him?

You're weird, go on, beat it!

I don't like the Dia bit, the last time we had a Dia, it went tits up.
-
Ibrahim Sangaré was just a decoy, we were after Diallo all along, football geniuses that we are (or the Black Box).
-
Perhaps because it was against Arsenal?
-
How far along is McQueen in his recovery, does anyone know? His contract expires this year, are we going to release him for nought?
-
Aguero did it (at least) once for Man City.
-
What are you talking about? Brendan Rodgers himself said he wants to sign Shane Long:
-
Thought McCarthy overcomitted for the first goal, Armstrong was positive on the ball, and Leicester was wasteful in front of goal (apart from their 2 goals). Might have been 1-1 on another day.
