Just sack them. They're only glorified waitresses at the end of the day.

THE NEW CLIMATE CHANGE SCANDAL FRESH doubts were cast over controversial global warming theories yesterday after a major climate change argument was discredited. The International Panel on Climate Change was forced to admit its key claim that Himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035 was lifted from a 1999 magazine article. The report was based on an interview with a little-known Indian scientist who has since said his views were “speculation” and not backed up by research. It was also revealed that the IPCC’s controversial chairman, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, described as “the world’s top climate scientist”, is a former railway engineer with a PhD in economics and no formal climate science qualifications. Dr Pachauri was yesterday accused of a conflict of interest after it emerged he has a network of business interests that attract millions of pounds in funding thanks to IPCC policies. One of them, The Energy Research Institute, has a London office and is set to receive up to £10million from British taxpayers over the next five years in the form of grants from the Department for International Development. Dr Pachauri denies any conflict of interest arising from his various roles. Yesterday, critics accused the IPCC of boosting the man-made global warming theory to protect a multi-million pound industry. Climate scientist Peter Taylor said: “I am not surprised by this news. A vast bureaucracy and industry has been built up around this theory. There is too much money in it for the IPCC to let it wither.” Professor Julian Dowdeswell, a glacier specialist at Cambridge University, said: “The average glacier is 1,000ft thick so to melt one even at 15ft a year would take 60 years. That is a lot faster than anything we are seeing now so the idea of losing it all by 2035 is unrealistically high.” The IPCC was set up by the UN to ensure world leaders had the best possible scientific advice on climate change. It issued the glacier warning in a benchmark report in 2007 that was allegedly based on the latest research into global warming. The scientists behind the report now admit they relied on a news story published in the New Scientist journal in 1999. The article was based on a short telephone interview with scientist Syed Hasnain, then based in Delhi, who has since said his views were “speculation”. The New Scientist report was picked up by the WWF and included in a 2005 paper. It then became a key source for the IPCC which went further in suggesting the melting of the glaciers was “very likely”. Yesterday, Professor Murari Lal who oversaw the chapter on glaciers in the IPCC report, said: “If Hasnain says officially that he never asserted this, or that it is a wrong presumption, then I will recommend that the assertion about Himalayan glaciers be removed from future IPCC assessments.” Last year the Indian government issued its own scientific research rejecting the notion that glaciers were melting so rapidly. Before the weakness in the IPCC’s research was exposed, Dr Pachauri dismissed the Indian government report as “voodoo science”. The revelations are the latest crack to appear in the scientific consensus on climate change. It follows the so-called climate-gate scandal in November last year when leaked emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit appeared to show scientists fiddling the figures to strengthen the case for man-made climate change. The scandal prompted critics to suggest that many scientists had a vested interest in promoting climate change because it helped secure more funding for research. Last month, the Daily Express published a dossier listing 100 reasons why global warming was part of a natural cycle and not man made. http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/152422 Cue scoffing from the leftie climate comrades. It's not an article in the Tree Huggers Daily AKA The Guardian so it cannot be taken seriously.

This rubbish belongs in the Muppet Show.

Look at me. I'm not disagreeing that we've got to aim high and I hope we pull it off this season, but i don't think we will because we've got a mountain to climb. All i'm saying is that we've got a lot to feel positive about and next season we'll be in a great position to get up.
-
We are clearly going in the right direction. The 10 point penalty will probably be too much to overcome this season, but next season we'll be ready to win the league. Keep the faith and stop moaning - some of you forget where we were 12 months ago!
-
We've had a break at a point in the season when were starting to flag. The snowed off game couldn't have come at a better time for us. With the signings we've made our players know they are playing for their place in the team so some big performances should be on the cards. No is the time when we'll see just who has the bottle to fight for Saints.

Gun crime is rife in America because of your out dated gun laws. For a country so rich America is remarkably backward when it comes to things like the democratic set up, religion and gun laws. That said i do believe that if someone enters your home unvited to burgle etc it should be your right to use any force and if the intruder is killed then the law should take no action against the homeowner. I would apply the same scenario to the pensioner. Similarly my cousin and his brother were out in Winchester and got set upon by a gang. They were (one died in an unrelated incident) Rugby players and hard as nails and battered the gang. They ended up being tagged by the courts. That's not justice.

We shall see. I've heard conflicting reports about the locals from them being dead friendly to them being a pain in the arse hassling you to buy stuff. From an historical point of view Turkey looks quite cultured with Asia Minor being the crossroads of civilisations for centuries. There are various crusader castles which look impressive. Mamure Castle is on the list: And i've always wanted to visit Antioch - although it's proably a bit far at 200 miles away.
-
Just booked two weeks in a 5 star hotel in Side - Turkey. This place was recomended to me by friends so i've gone against my better judgement and decided to visit a country i've always said i'd never visit. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g297968-d304613-Reviews-Barut_Hemera_Resort_Spa-Side_Turkish_Mediterranean_Coast.html Where's everyone else going and has anyone been to where i'm going and if so what's it like?

Never a truer word spoken. Also add something like "I enjoy working as team but am equally motivated working on my own" or some other bull**** waffle.

Jackssons Farm was only an issue when we thought the scumbag Lowe and Judas Wilde might profit from it. Now these obnoxious individuals are gone I have no interest in the land.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but with the new chipped passports there is the potential to store far more information on a given passenger. Terrorists will always try to make themselves less obvious, but the fact remains that most muslims are not white and as such profiling is a tool that we can ill afford not to use.
-
Another victory for the socialist left and another defeat for homeland security. Our airports security police want the power to profile passengers and to be able to single out those that are more likely to be suicide bombers yet the Politically Correct lefties are dead against it. It's utter madness. Police Offiers develop hunches from years of experience, yet the left are willing to let people die in a terrorist attack in case it hurts the feelings of those whose profile makes them more likely to be a terrorist. Two people board a plane: The first is a blue rinsed granny, the second is a twentysomething muslim. It's bleeding obvious which one is more likely to blow up the plane. And if one of these people is to be searched it should always be the young muslim. I hope that when we get a Tory government common sense prevails and if necessary we withdraw from the European Human Rights legislation.

Oh dear. You're "not obsessed with it all" yet you are a member of UAF. The fact you hate the EDL/BNP "a lot more than Islam4uk" also speaks volumes about you and your pathetic UAF mates.

We are a different kettle of fish ( no pun intended) to the blue few. Mr Liebherr is Premier League in the amount of money he's got, wheras Portsmouth have attracted myriad small time dreamers. Mr Liebherr has comitted to Saints and his family will be involved for years to come. It is early days but you have got to trust a man like Mr Liebherr and based on his actions so far he has done us proud. We have no worries about money and no worries about the people running the club now. Times are good so just enjoy the ride.

There's talk on the EDL forum of SFC and PFC uniting for a march in Southampton... http://s1.zetaboards.com/EDL_The_Forum/topic/2553496/ http://s1.zetaboards.com/EDL_The_Forum/topic/2745821/ http://s1.zetaboards.com/EDL_The_Forum/topic/2662074/ (Not sure if you can open the links without being a member of the site)

What's the problem? Prudence Brown the one eyed clown has done such a fantastic job with public finances we have money to throw away.
-
I bet a £1 that when we get a DoF it's an Italian....
-
Of course not. Last year the Canaries were cool and cloudy over the Christmas period. Normal people call it the weather.
-
For Mr Cortese to get to where he has at his age he's got to be ruthless. We all have a lot to thank Mr Cortese and Mr Liebherr for. They have done us proud in their actions, where previously we've had owners who've been all about words. Anyone remember Mike Wilde and his waffle? I like NC and the way he comes across. If employess don't like him I would suggest that they are probably shirkers who don't like the prospect of being made to work. You go into any company or organisation and the lazy workers hate the managers that take no ****. Managers are not payed to be liked - they are payed to deliver results. And in NC i see a strong leader that is determined to win. That is just the mentality we need.
-
Thankyou Mr Liebherr.

And who are we to place gods creatures in rank of stature? It's common to poison rats which gives them a slow and painful death. Chickens are intensively reared and have no quality of life. Pigs are supposed to be intelligent yet they are slaughtered so that I can enjoy a bacon sarnie. Thorpe-le-Saints whole argument is based on Dolphins being cute therefore they shouldn't be hunted. I'm not saying that i disagree as Dolphins do have a nice smile.
-
Personally i'm not in favour as i quite like the smiley faces that Dolphins have.
-
I've been Dophin and Whale watching. The Whales didn't turn up, but the dolphins made a brief appearance. It's better if you watch them at a theme park/aquarium. Loro Paque has dolphin and killer whale shows and you get a much better view than on a boat.
