I used to think the same way as you, but at the end of the day all a membership is is a con to get £20 out of fans for nothing. Also with memberships you have potentially 3 separate allocation periods which means that by the time tickets get to general sale you are approaching the day of the given game. I reckon that'd be a put off and would in turn lose the club revenue. What i would like to see, however, is better recognition of away supporters and the FACT that many spend **** loads of money following the club. We have lots of fans that live up north and travel to away games, yet they are not valued as illustrated by this scheme just for uber season ticket holders. I bet if and when we get in the play-offs the the tickets will be allocated for home attendees first and those who cheered us on on the road can go **** themselves. You will get the selfish ones on here say this is how it should be, but it's not the fair way.
-
Personally i'm chuffed to bits with our new owner and the way Nicola is running the club. They've got us good players in, have not overcharged on tickets and haven't been like Lowe wanting to be in the press at every opportunity. I've got absolutely nothing to complain about. What really does worry me though is that these initiatives are always jumped on by the 5 or 6 gob****es/supporters clubs with next to members who like to speak on behalf of everyone else. And this exactly what will happen again. I reckon it's David Luker trying to big himself up, when all he should be doing is selling tickets.

It sounds great just so long as it's not hijacked by Chorley and the Saints Trust lot....

If anyone does decide, or is forced, to sit with the Leeds fans join me in block F23.
-
Because i'm going to single handedly take their end. Or maybe i'm sitting with some mates who are Leeds fans. Does anyone know the capacity of elland road because i thought it was over 40K. I reckon the upper tier of the new side stand is closed and probably was for Huddersfield.

I think this season is particularly enjoyable because it follows such a long period of pain and disillusionment. Last season was really dreadful and i stopped going because of Rupert Lowe. Putting aside the good results and performances this season, it feels so good to have an owner that works under the principle of "think not what Saints can do for you, but what you can do for Saints". No longer does SFC revolve around Rupert and making Rupert and the rotten PLC money, we are a proper club now. Mr Liebherr has done us proud and when i pay my money to watch Saints i now feel that the effort i make and the money i spend is appreciated and that i'm valued - not because of the money, but because my support is helping Saints the football club. We really have got our club back this time.
-
Spare a thought for Leeds fans (and me ). I've bought 5 tickets in the Revie End which are priced at £26, but the robbing ****s also charge £1.50 per ticket booking fee regardless of whether you use a debit card (which i did) or a credit card. That's Ken Bates for you.
-
And now we are in midfield the next target is that pack of teams from 10th to 5th who have between 29 and 32 points. And WHEN we get there the play-offs will be in touching distance.
-
But at the time we had been playng well and getting better but we weren't getting the points. This went on for a worryingly long time and we came to a crossroads where we either started delivering OR questions had to be asked. Thankfully we started delivering and that's down to the mental strength of our team just as much as it is to pardew - so welldone everyone. This thread is a crock of ****e to be honest because all it really is is a ner ner ner ner i was right and you were wrong **** stirring wind up.
-
No-one was calling for Pardew to be sacked, but many were rightly stating we needed to get our act together - WHICH WE HAVE. And please don't bore us with another bout of your oh so dull exchanges with Alpine.

I'm talking about the timing. Lowe could have put us into admin a week or so earlier but IMO he took satisfaction in giving us the 10 point penalty for this season. To him he'd look at it as the fans not attending that cost him his investment so this was his way of getting a bit of vengeance.
-
I still maintain that the scumbag Lowe deliberately put us into admin after the deadline so that the club suffered - call it Lowe getting his revenge. We can do this and make the play-offs and if we do it we'll have the momentum to follow it through. Up the Saints.

Breathing in fumes is clearly not a good thing and we only have to look back a few decades to London when houses and industry burnt coal. Clearly the concentration of fumes wasn't good for health. But to then use this argument to suggest the said fumes are bad for the climate is a big jump and it doesn't stack up against the facts. To understand the future you need to understand the past. - `Medieval Warm Period' (AD 700 - 1300) - `Sporer Minimum' cool period (AD 1300 - 1500) - Brief climatic warming (AD 1500 - 1560) - `Little Ice Age' (`Maunder Minimum') (AD 1560 - 1830) - Brief warmer period (AD 1830 - 1870) - Brief cool period (AD 1870 - 1910) - 20th century warm period (AD 1910 - 2000) Now compare these FACTS of history with sunspot activity and notice the correlation between the low sunspot activity and cool periods, and high sunspot activity and warm periods: This account of climatic history contains two serious difficulties for climate comrades. 1) If the Medieval Warm Period was warmer than today, with no greenhouse gas contribution, what would be so unusual about modern times being warm also? 2) If the variable sun caused both the Medieval Warm Period and the Little Ice Age, would not the stronger solar activity of the 20th century account for most, if not all, of the claimed 20th century warmth?
-
The climate comrades on this thread will never admit they are wrong. Believing in man made climate change is like believing that Socialism works when we all know it doesn't.
-
I for one don't want Portsmuff to go into administration YET. I'd much sooner see it happen after the cut off point this season OR next season so they lose 10 points in CCC. This would relegate them to L1 for sure, although i think they'll tumble through the CCC trapdoor next season regardless. Happy days.

Real life Lowe supporters always were like rocking horse sh*t. A few weirdos/plants on a internet messageboard always was the extent of support for that vile creature of a man.
-
I'm sitting with some Leeds supporting mates.

Today i've ordered 5 tickets for the Revie end. It'll be a struggle if we score not to cheer.

Pumping millions of tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere has little or no impact on the earths climate. As Professor Plimer said climate change was caused by natural events such as volcanic eruptions, the shifting of the Earth’s orbit and cosmic radiation. He said: “Carbon dioxide levels have been up to 1,000 times higher in the past. CO2 cannot be driving global warming now." “In the past we have had rapid and significant climate change with temperature changes greater than anything we are measuring today. They are driven by processes that have been going on since the beginning of time.” He cited periods of warming during the Roman Empire and in the Middle Ages – when Vikings grew crops on Greenland – and cooler phases such as the Dark Ages and the Little Ice Age from 1300 to 1850. I'm not disputing that we need to develop new and cost effective alternatives to fossil fuels (which are running out) and we need to do this now so as not to allow the middle east to hold the whip hand over the west, but the man made global warming lie being used to hoodwink the naive is just that - A LIE. As i've said earlier in the thread I do agree that perhaps this lie is essential because gullible footsoldiers (like yourself) are needed to make us move away from middle eastern oil, but that still doesn't make the MMGW lie anything other than a lie.

Get some of Rons pics. Set up an ebay account "Give it to Ron" Auction them. The money raised could either be given straight to him, or put towards a trip for him to Southampton. He deserves to be a guest of honour for a game and the latter scenario would be more ethical for the club and Daily echo to get behind and promote. Just make sure it's a private listing as due to the exposure it'd put people off if their identities were revealed during bidding.

The Guardan reading "Adrian Moles" that monopolise this thread are the vocal minority. Look what's on the front page of todays Express.... http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/143573 Professor Ian Plimer condemned the climate change lobby as “climate comrades” keeping the “gravy train” going Climate Comrades - i like that and it certainly sums up the Arian Moles on here. He suggested many scientists had a vested interest in promoting climate change because it helped secure more funding for research. He said: “The climate comrades are trying to keep the gravy train going. Governments are also keen on putting their hands as deep as possible into our pockets. I can understand Top Guns attitude as he's a socialist and as such will want to leech off people to protect his own job, but it's shocking how there are some without vested interests that are so naive as to be taken in by the lies.

I'm so confident of us winning this game we'll probably lose...

I remember the good old days when we used to spend hours stuck in traffic around Newbury. That hill up to the Swan roundabout ws a graveyard for overheated Morris Itals. Making it up the hill knowing their was a pint waiting for you at the Swan was like dieing and going to heaven.

I wanted to vote for all 3. Every game in every competition is important.

Forget these pointless offshoot forums (General chat, the muppet show, the cars forum etc etc) because they are not the core point of it all. And compare the football forum now with the football forum in S4E days and the site is run a lot better now. I'm not saying S4E wasn't good in it's early days, but with the decline of SFC so S4E declined too. It became politicised and the forums owner was manipulated to turn it into a focus group. It stopped being a place where we speculated and became a place where the likes of Mike Wilde loaded the gun and let Keith fire the bullets. You were told the ins and outs of all things SFC with a nudge and a wink by a select handpicked band who sat at the high table and it was all b0ll0cks, yet because it came from those who were previously respected it was the gospel. This caused huge divisions in an already fractured fanbase (at least among the miniscule %age that posted). There's none of that now and it's just Tom **** and Harry posting general footie comments and i do believe a lot that is down to a conscious decision by this forums owners not to make the mistakes that S4E did. In short this forum is now just a normal football forum with normal fans and normal rumours picked up from a local taxi driver. This is how it should be and this is how it'll stay now we have a wise head in the shape of Nicola Cortese running the club who isn't trying to divide to rule. I really think you need to take off the rose tinted spectacles and show a bit of gratitude for how good the main board is now, although obviously you could do a better job because you're perfect.
