  1. Precisely. We need to teach/learn the words to the songs. Every match between now and then is a rehersal for the main event.
  2. http://www.petersfieldbookshop.com/index.htm Inside the shop there is a display of antique dolls from Ann W******d's private collection. I bet they could tell a story or two.
  3. I think this move is all about removing the riff raff from the Itchen so this stand can be exclusively marketed for corporates and posh fans. If the club move the away fans into blocks 18 - 24 it'll be a mirror image of how it is now (a fairly pointless exercise barring the fact that the Itchen has been cleansed) and everyone will jump on a musical chairs merry go round. If the club give the away fans blocks 22 - 28 it'd be a good idea because it would shove the away fans out of the way and to an extent nullify their voice. So to sumarise: Away fans to blocks 18 - 24 BAD IDEA. Away fans to blocks 22 - 28 GOOD IDEA. Oh and the ticket selling arrangements for Pompey were surprisingly sensible. WTF is going on!!!!!
  4. It's good to read that Nicola is comitted to Saints. If he was to leave i'd be very worried about whether Mr Liebherr wanted to remain as our owner. If you're reading this Nicola i think it's time to call a truce with the Daily Echo. As much as you may not like the paper and it's Editor (sentiments I agree with) we all need to be pulling in the same direction. Up The Saints.
  5. I agree with this. What particularly worries me is that we've stopped improving and we've gone backwards of late.
  6. In lieu of the k/o time, the fact the game is on terrestrial tv, the fact that older fans/families will be put off, the fact PFC will want prices as high as possible, and the probability that David Luker will c o c k up the selling procedure I do think this game could well fall short of a sell out. I've already got tickets for MK Dons on the Tuesday before (booked time off work and everything ready for this game). If i can get a ticket easily for the Skates game i'll go and knock the MK Dons one on the head , but if our wonderful ticket office take the pi ss i won't bother.
  7. Surely you're not refering to David Lukers wacky brainwave about "Pre Registration"? That was without doubt the most spasticated idea that the ticket office ever came up with.
  8. Were you at the CCC night match and did you witness the pompey fans fighting each other in their stand? I thought not, but had you been there and known the facts behind the said infighting you'd be aware that it occured because revenge was being exacted on the pompey fans that ran away. By all accounts Pompey were well and truely battered outside the joiners and most legged it. As for your comments about the "Yoof" i think you are confusing the influx of teens with bad attitudes with the "Youth". I made comment about gobby teens in block 42 the other week and fully agree that there's some right ****s in that stand, but you're wrong to call them the Youth because clearly they are not. As it goes our fanbase is very different to what i was during your time (and mine) and there is a new generation that has come through since the last time we played Pompey. Go to any game - particularly the aways - and the ratio between groups of young lads - to olders groups of lads - to families has changed with more young (18 - 21) casuals than there has been for a generation. That all said i don't envisage that much trouble (on a par with the night match) because it'll be a 12 o clock K/O in broad daylight, but if the match had been a night match my hunch is that Pompeys lads would take an even bigger beating than last time.
  9. I was having a conversation with a mate who's a Leeds fan. Since they played Man Ure they've found it difficult to motivate themselves for the bread and butter games against noddy League 1 minnows. I think the same could well happen with us in lieu of the Pompey game and the JPT. I do however think we have a very good chance of causing an upset in the Pompey game. They ae obviously favourites, but between now and the fixture they will lose good players so we will be playing an unsettled team.
  10. If David Luker gives two tickets per season ticket i will not be happy. Fair enough that season ticket holders get first pick, but to then let them get another ticket for a fan that chooses to crawl out the woodwork is not fair. As to the database i've only got 3 home games on it, plus lots of away games. If David Luker is going to be fair he will recognise away games and not just count home games. That all said we've been here before and Pompey isn't as desirable a fixture for many as it's hyped up to be. Many families always give it a miss and historically tickets have been available to all that want to go. I remember the last two visits to Fratton Park and tickets went to general sale in the end.
  11. My old man said be a Pompey fan I said **** off ******** your a **** your a **** I'd rather **** a bucket with a big hole in it Than be a Pompey fan for just a minute With hatchets and hammers Stanley knives and spanners We'll show those pikey bastards how to fight I'd rather **** a bucket with a big hole in it Than be a Pompey fan
  12. To the tune of "where have all the flowers gone": (everyone wave a £20 note at the Skates while singing) Where has all the money gone, Pompeys going down Where has all the money gone, Where did it go? Where has all the money gone, Fratton Park is falling down When will the balliffs knock, when will the balliffs knock?
  13. The Skates - Home or Away.

Like we'd be better off if every fan was a self opinionated ***** like you.

Numbers wise our away support now is better than it was in our Premiership days. Ignore the following we took to glory clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Ure etc and compare our support to less glamourous games and we are better now than we ever have been. I remember going to places like Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Bolton, Leeds etc and us taking a few hundred. We are now regularly taking thousands. That said the atmosphere created probably isn't as good as it was, but it varies. I thought the atmosphere at MK Dons was pretty good and the fact everyone stood up was very refreshing. Compare that to Colchester away the other week and our fans were rubbish.

Would it be appropriate to run on the pitch if win over the two legs and thus reach a wembley final? I think it would be appropriate, but what i would say is that it'd be a shame if we goaded the MK Dons fans. Just celebrate reaching Wembley. As much as i despise that club for the way they stole Wimbledons place in the FL, their fans don't have an attitude and are a friendly bunch.

I left the ground on the final whistle so did not witness the pitch invasion, but by your own words it was just kids. I don't think it was particularly clever given the tie is only at half time, but kids will be kids. Get over your self importance on this forum.
  19. They don't have vocal fans because they don't have real fans. They're not a football club but a Franchise made up of numpties.
  20. At one point i think we were singing "all southampton" and everyone to man sung their heart out and it send a shiver down my spine - not heard us that loud for a long time. Everyone stood for whole game too which is how it should be.
  21. Just got back and I was really impressed by the comittent and fight from our players who wanted it more than Franchise FC and their pathetic fake fans.

I wish people on TV would pronouce Haiti correctly. It's High-eee-tea, not Hay-tea.

    Climate change

It get the distinct impression that Gordon Browns foot soldiers need a "cause" to make their lives worthwhile. If it wasn't climate change it'd be nuclear power, or saving dolphins, or rolling up at a G8 summit and smashing up the town, or marching with the UAF (except when the extremists is question are islamic), or camping up a tree on a proposed new bypass route, or disrupting a fox hunt.
  24. Firms don't charge employees with gross misconduct for no reason. This is especially the case with shop stewards who are the sort to go to a tribunal. I expect there is more to this than Duncan simply going about his union duties. That said the over the top call for an extended strike is the act of a grossly incompetent/greedy union.
  25. I make a point of never trying to speak another language. It puts you at an immediate disadvantage to Johnny Foreigner.
