  1. Where was everyone? I looked like a bit of a prat. I think I'm at the M on Sunday evening for some food, but I'm sure I'll be able to come by (wife's family are staying at the Aria, which is right by there isn't it) Be good to meet up. Robert from the Cup final may be up for it as well...and maybe some others on here. Anyway... The international terminal in Vegas is tiny. Were only a few people and chauffeurs waiting to meet passengers in the small arrivals area. Aaron Martin and a couple of others I did not recognize came through before the others. A bit later the bulk of the team came through (do not remember seeing OXO, Connolly, Jaidi, Gobern or Guly. They might have sneaked past.) A few gave me an odd look (I’m probably the last thing they want to see after a 10 hour flight) but several seemed quite chuffed that they had instant recognition landing in Vegas (Seabourne and Harding seemed happy). One of them, I think Kelvin, muttered something along the lines of “we come here to get away from this” – fair enough! Then, just outside the building, Chaplow and Lallana were cracking up seeing my Rickie Lambert SGM t-shirt, dragged Rickie back in to say hello. Richard and Adam got their iPhones out and snapped Rickie and I. They were very amused! I think they initially thought I was a yank and was wearing some random t-shirt, not knowing who Lambert was. Explained to them I was well aware of who they all were and that I was back only a few months ago to see them play. They shuffled off to get taxis. I hung around a little longer to see if NC and Nigel were to emerge. (Nigel was probably already on the bus) Got bored and left. Oh...Said hello to Drew Surman earlier in the day (with the Delia party), wished him luck in the Prem to which he thanked me for. Jolly nice lad! Bit surreal and a little bit awkward, but great to see them all. Nice to get to chat (albeit briefly) to a few of them and to say thanks for putting on a great season. Rickie, Adam and Richard were brill! Not sure I’m too bothered getting out to find them in the casino. They must get it enough in Soton, and as Sourmush mentioned in the thread, I suppose he is right…they deserve to get to have a private holiday in (anonymous) peace. Well…maybe.
  2. Firstly I'm going to run up and hug them, sing their individual songs to them then invite them back to my house for a BBQ. What did you expect?
  3. GM posted that it's the Bellagio. Vegas, Robert and Col....I might be able to get to the airport for the Virgin flight if I finish up at work in time. I'm only 10 mins away. Otherwise it'd be BA at about 7pm. (I'm presuming NC hasn't got them on a stopover flight) I'll be on the Strip Saturday and Sunday anyway milling about as my wife's family are coming in to town. Be good to meet up with some of you for a drink and a chance to catch the players gamble away their bonuses.
  4. I hope not, it's a ****ehole. What's in Pahrump anyway.....oh I see!
  5. Haha! Was thinking of doing the same.... I doubt NC would have them changing en route, so it could be one of two direct flights. Virgin gets in at about 14:00 and BA at about 19:00 Let me know if you're up for it. (Oh....and Thanks for the tip off there guided missile. You pretty sure about this?)
  6. Got your email. This could be a fun weekend.
  7. Offix - check your email. Fancy a stalk?
  8. Tayyab's and Lahores are the same owner and spitting distance from each other (as you probably know). Tayyab's supposed to be even better but the queue to get in was crazy when we tried, so went to the latter instead. I've got a friend (Saints fan) who works in the city and lives in Wapping, so it's virtually on his doorstep too.
  9. Coma?! Crickey! Blandford Fly? Any sign of cellulitis? My bro in law in Oxfordshire was recently bitten by one of these causing swelling and other unpleasantness.
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Lahores Kebab House, Whitechapel, is the best one I've had.
  11. I like the lino legging it all the way across the pitch. I wonder what went though his head when he heard "dirty skate bastards we're coming for YOU!" just seconds before.
  12. I bet he wasn't! The wonder of the radio, just have to let your imagination do the work.
  13. What a month April was - 8 games with 7 wins. It's the snow what won it! COYS! (Come on you snow!)
  14. US Saints - Vegas party anyone?! Who's up for it!
  15. Yep! Just woke up and this is music to my ears.
  16. Is it any coincidence that crazy season seems to have coincided with 1976 Child's return from his hiatus?
  17. 4 - Huddersfield home, Daggers Away, Exeter Home, Notts Co home. 10 points out of 12.
  18. Yes! Never thought I'd ever get so excited by lamb chops, but they were incredible. There are several bring your own alcohol eateries in the vicinity - even the corner shops had queues in to them to pre-buy the booze. Best informal eating experience around.
  19. I don't fine dine, but the best (Indian) meal I've had recently was in Whitechapel's Lahore Kebab House. We couldn't get into nearby Tayyab's (same owner) which is rated even better but was already packed. Strongly recommended to anyone in London post-match, looking for the best curry experience in town.
  20. Should be a good one this Friday.
  21. I think if Bin Laden was still at large, the Reps could have fielded whomever they wanted (be it a nutty Teabagger or a smarmy Mormon car salesman) and gotten away with it. I think they will have to be careful with who they pick now as Obama now has a very powerful card to play after the recent events. That said, there is still plenty of time for the opposition to drum up enough spin to negate it.
  22. I agree, far too risky for the government, not just making a fool out of Obama, he'd be facing impeachment, let alone no second term. Also, if they were waiting to release news of his death at a time to really impact ratings, surely next year would be the optimum time to do it. Releasing a photo of his death would be an easy short term fix to satisfy the doubters. There is clearly a good reason they don't want images of a dead Bin Laden out there for the long term. He needed to be wiped out as quickly, efficiently and as humbly as possible.
