  1. Thanksgiving trip back to the in-laws/family? We're going up the road to Mesquite on Wednesday for some turkey. Just got finished with our 3-0 win. Real pleasure to watch. Plenty of incidents. Dodgy penalty decisions (Two he gave us were wrong, then turns down 3 which we should have had). Horrible ref. Fair result though. Great win. More games please Fox! Thanks for the team recap DanW. No team is calling my name yet. I might wait until Las Vegas build a superstadium they are promising to, with casino money, and 'lure' an existing team to it. Maybe rebranding them the 'Vegas Blackjacks' or something, although I've always found this relocating phenomena to be sickening!
  2. I'm doing alright Rut, and yourself? Getting cold up there yet? (What have you decided about the Brighton game 8 day delay?) Window - Cardinals might be slightly closer as the crow flies, but I've always liked SD as a city but it's not as if it is home. I think I may ride the season out and decide on a team to follow....let one pick me, if that's possible. This is all very new to me. 49ers? Are you suggesting I pick a team based on their success?! My 9 year old son Packers fan said something very commendable the other day, along the lines of not being too bothered if they do not win the Superbowl this time out, "cos people will think I started supporting them cos they were the best!" My years of Saints related torment and supporting the underdog through thick and thin, rubbing off on him well there then.
  3. Congrats Rut. Lovely winner from Tebow at the end.
  4. Whilst I'd imagine it must be pretty miserable being a Brighton fan having to endure the same old repetitive wind up, it is just banter, albeit a rather unpleasant strain (ohh er). It is what it is. I wouldn't do it, others would. Nothing the police can do (or should do) about it.
  5. B0ll0cks! What's wrong with them??? I like San Diego and it's the closest pro team city to me. Las Vegas has no team (apart from the college Rebels). I can't go back now. The Chargers picked me...sort of. I maybe should be a Broncos fan, my wife feels affiliated with them as it's fairly close to where she grew up. Broncos are a bit gay sounding though.... I dunno....
  6. I hope so too. My son's 4th grade teacher has had the class getting into sports (in a not too oppressive way). Including drawing lots for random NFL teams so that they could compose letters to the teams pleading for free goodies. My son drew the Packers! Before, he knew nothing about the game, now he can not get enough of his new team. At least if Green Bay go on to win again and continue to be successful, he can't be accused of being a glory supporter - the team chose him! I must say, I'm glad. With all the proper footy on telly to satisfy my needs, I've never given NFL a go. I'm happy I have now. Go Chargers....
  7. That is a tough one, but doable! A 24 hr weekend delay is easy but an 8 day hiatus away from this site and most footy in general is not. Good luck! It's always nice driving back knowing that in a few hours there's a comfy sofa, beer, fag and an 'evening' Saints game to watch! Agreed that the Championship game quality most of the time on FSP (via Directv for me) is rubbish! I wish they'd sort it out.
  8. This is amazing Rut. I expected the December games to be on, but Brighton in less than a week!? Long live Rupert Murdock. It hurt to type that...by the way.
  9. Piffle! You should be grateful of a news service that informs you of what goes on around the world...maybe there was not much home grown newsworthiness tonight?? I have to put up with the likes of CNN (or FOX...yeah right) which is more often a tabloid entertainment show passing as 'hard hitting' news. And most of which entirely centered on domestic goings on. Godamnit. Actually, the quality and error frequency of BBC online has gotten fairly ****ty recently.
  10. Paranormal Activity 2. Decided to watch in the wee hours before going to bed. Not a good idea. Scary dreams last night. The first one was much better and more 'authentic'. I laughed through a lot of 2 and wasn't very impressed by it. However, it creeps into your head and leaks out when you fall asleep. Bastards! 666/1000 Source Code. A bit silly but very engrossing and well paced. I prefer Groundhog Day. 7.5/10...7.5/10...7.5/10...7.5/10...7.5/10...7.5/10

    Cov stream?

    Solent online is down
  12. So, a pair of Gulys then? COYS!
  13. What a nice bunch of friendly responses! I hope he's genuine.
  14. It is also an age old sacred symbol for good luck and positiveness. I think this has all been one big misunderstanding. Everybody pipe down!
  15. Nice post. I think that the purse strings will re-open in January when NC realises there could be another promotion in the offing and to prepare for the summer of strengthening, early. The players will come in January as they see the potential for promotion, only question is, as you say, who do we attempt to bring in without disrupting the harmony? If all things are going well in January, maybe only a striker to bolster the attack and then if we get promoted, worry about building with a couple of choice players in the summer. It's looking good and Nige and the crew will know what to do for the best. I'm still in disbelief that we're 5 points clear at this stage.
  16. I was out of town and got back on Sunday evening to watch the Boro match. Absolute pleasure it was too! Yep, haven't checked any latest news, but FSP is still there, glad it was sorted quickly. TIVO is different than the Directv DVR in it's format and software. It does the same things but is much easier/nicer to use IMO. It was the original incorporated DVR before they started manufacturing their own in house service and equipment. Only available in SD though so we were waiting for them to release the long awaited HD box. We might just get the regular HD service soon though since they are taking forever to get the new Tivo out.
  17. I hear you Rut, I know these disputes occur almost every time a contract has to be renegociated. Just worried after what happened back in the UK with Virgin Media and Sky. I don't want to drop DTV, I've been happy with them for 10 years and still waiting for them to release Tivo in HD. Luckily the Boro game occurs a day before the expected (hopefully temporary) cut!
  18. Looks as though Directv are about to axe the Fox channels amongst others due to their disputes with Fox. I hope they come to an agreement at the eleventh hour, but it looks bad. If this is the case, I will be switching to another provider. Any recommendations? Must be able to provide FSP.
  19. They should have run to the woods and then came back when the flock had moved on, yes. Somewhere between season 1 and 2, they've gotten faster. Maybe they broke into a steroid lab and consumed!
  20. ...second series back on AMC (here) or your favourite download/streaming provider. Good series and is living up to it's great debut season. Dexter also back on, but not as strong as seasons' past. So far. We'll see.
  21. thebox.bz should have it available for a free* download as it's the first episode. *As opposed to using up upload credits (which are easy to 'win' on the website competitions anyway)
  22. Sillious Soddus, Biggus Dickus
  23. f!%* me! It doesn't stop does it! Who needs the Prem!?
  24. I enjoyed last Sunday. I had Tivo'd it - and the surrounding broadcasts either side - just in case they decided last minute to **** with the schedule (like they did the week before!) As soon as Pride Park honed into view on the TV, I relaxed.... Out of town this weekend, but it's set to record. FWIW. Chicago sounds a nice venue for a party if things go to plan.
  25. Taylor pulled off by Alardyce. Teehee....
