Is anyone on here ITK about players returning from comparable injuries? What are the most similar comparisons for other players returning and how they've come back? Out current team, with the option of a fully fit Rodriguez would be outstanding.

We Spent Nearly £40mill on Mane, Long, Forster and Gardos

I'd agree with all that, apart from the last line. Not sure if our recruitment is "great", but if you compared it to Spurs, Liverpool, Man Utd, QPR, I think it stands up pretty well. -
This. We're still a good team and although Burnley will make it tough for us, we're better than them and they don't have an Alrxis Sanchez or Robin van Persie to win it for them.
-
Hopefully Alderweireld or Schneiderlin are back, we then play 3 in midfield and a forward three of Long, Tadic and Pelle.
-
Did that many really expect to finis in the top 4? I think most Saints fans I know expected us to drop away a bit.
-
Agreed, we won't get much better as a back up CB.
-
Pretty fair summation of the night. Very, very frustrating game, Man Utd are one of the few clubs to really have the knack of winding me up (I can't stand Felaini and Rooney), but ultimately plenty of positives to take from the game. With either Alderweireld or Schneiderlin back we'll improve further. I think we'll win at Burnley.

what is your definition of a 'modern railway system'? How long do you think it should take to implement something like the digital railway on one of the busiest rail networks in the world around Victorian infrastructure ?
-
Yes, I'm well aware of that thanks, but its largely to cover the provision of bus services and to cover lost revenue, not really much extra profit in it - given the choice the TOCs would opt for no disruptive work at all. And how exactly would a refund be administered back to the paying passenger? It should happen, but its not very practical. Most of the major disruption to services isn't as a result of "some routine maintenance", it is large scale infrastructure investment on a heavily used bit of railway, if there was another way of doing it, believe me, they would.

It's hardly ever cheaper to fly than take the train, just a made up, lazy cliche.
-
No they're not, they're an absolute piece of p**s to use, easy to use every single weekend.
-
Not really, bit of a cliched answer that. That whole scene had completely died down many years before the government thought it necessary to bring in football banning orders.
-
Man City game mid first half, great cross from Schneiderlin that he could have buried or at least tested the keeper. Then the chance that fell to him mid first half against Arsenal, if he was in top form he would have buried. Just happens from time to time for pretty much all strikers.
-
Exactly that really. He's a very good striker, not a great one and the Premier League is probably the toughest in the world.
-
Good to see you can speak for a whole generation

The question is right, CCTV, increased and improved policing, banning orders and all seater stadiums have had an impact, only significant thing they've missed out is ticket prices.
-
I go from Waterloo to Southampton every home game, plus other occasions, found the service pretty good over the last few years. Why is it South West Trains fault if there are lengthy engineering works? And how else can effective engineering works take place on such a busy line of railway without disruptive works some weekends?
-
You could have saved yourself a lot of time.
-
Ok, can we just get this straight. Are you saying that you don't believe the club are concious of the importance of either retaining the likes of Clyne or Rodriguez or securing good prices for them if they leave? Do you think they're just strolling through the season without giving it any real thought? Is that how you think the club is run?
-
What makes you think they haven't tried? Do you honestly, genuinely think that hasn't crossed their minds?

CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons
Sour Mash replied to toe_punt's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't say he's been "superb" for us yet. And yes, Isgrove is definitely not the answer. -
You can book in advance, just need to know how to do it. There is Megatrain for example.
-
What is your source for ticket prices trebling? And punctuality declining? How else would you suggest delivering huge, significant infrastructure projects without public subsidy?
-
But what figures are you basing that on? I use rail all the time, don't find it a problem getting anywhere around the country at all, all for a very good price. The commuter routes into London are expensive, but as is everything in that regard, property prices, football tickets, the price of a pint.

No private firm in charge of franchise is going to sign off the level of investment required for major infrastructure projects. Trains don't run any later than they did while nationalised. Over-crowded trains are as a result of the success of the industry - there is tons of work going into increasing capacity, but it's not something that is going to change over-night. I find the prices of train tickets fine, plenty still choose it as an option instead of using a car.
