Fonte apologises, but how about refunding travelling fans their fares?
Sour Mash replied to eelpie's topic in The Saints
Long chat? How did he come across in general? -
If true that is utterly ridiculous, throwing a coin is a c**tish thing to do, to it at your own player and one that has been excellent for us is beyond belief.
-
Right, so your point about taking big numbers away leading to quiet support was a load of rubbish? Fair enough.
-
For just Saints games off the top of my head, Fulham away last season, either of the two Orient aways, Reading away in the Championship, all games where we took many thousands and made good noise. It wasn't the Old Firm, but it was a 1/4 final of a cup competition. You seem to be the only one that thinks our support was reasonable.
-
But there are plenty of games with thousands of away fans that create a top atmosphere, having 4k+ away fans isn't a reason for there being poor/quiet support.
-
Would be a fantastic signing, especially if it means his wife starts attending games. He'd be a great addition and the Koeman factor would definitely help us, just not sure how much it's a lazy journalist using the agent/dutch link.

It does sound like a whistle was blown. Amusing hearing the AFCB fans getting worked up over Lallana. He's playing quite well I thought.
-
I don't think we were louder than Sheff Utd. No-one is suggesting that 5,00 will all be mad keen singers. But our support was crap last night, from before a ball was even kicked, so the performance can't simply to blame (it obviously didn't help). I can't see how anyone can suggest otherwise.
-
Apart from last night's game, what heavy pitches have we been playing on? I've not seen any real lack of fitness. Apart from the obvious, injuries impact, the only slight worry I would have is our confidence and belief seem to have gone a bit, that's more of a worry for me than fitness.
-
I wouldn't bother biting to that rubbish, the vast majority of Saints fans would agree with you. For a club our size, the number of Semi Finals/Finals and Cups we've got to show for our efforts just isn't good enough.

Exactly. Talk of a refund is ridiculous. For what it's worth I do think the players realise how much they let the club/supporters down last night. -
Not really, plenty of big away followings make a load of noise. For an away support at a Cup 1/4 our support was silent, large sections didn't make a noise all game, regardless of singing all the way through the game.

Why does anyone really care what Brand thinks or has to say?
-
I don't think Ramirez is good enough for our first choice XI, but he would be fantastic to still have as an option as part of the squad - better than Isgrove or Mayuka. Its one bit of summer business that I found off, both for him and us, it was a strange one. Was talking on the train back today about this and it was suggested that we needed to get his wages off the books with Alderweireld coming in to comply with FFP - I'm not sure if this is true or not, but could make a bit more sense.
-
Because it wasn't working? That doesn't stop the original logic being reasonably sound.
-
I'm not saying it was necessarily the right call from Koeman, but look at how many chances Bertrand has created this season. Look at how he skinned the Burnley player for our penalty on Saturday. You can see the logic behind it.
-
Anyone else think we could be on the verge of something special?
Sour Mash replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
Whilst I agree its still early days really, I don't think Koeman can be accused of just building on someone else's success; he has built a new squad pretty much from scratch. -
Agreed. I thought our support was ridiculously quiet, just couldn't understand it. All round s**t night. Sheff Utd didn't even look that lively or up for it, that was the frustrating thing, we weren't bowled over in a classic cup tie, but just drifted out in a whimper. I can't agree with those saying about our players being tired, there is no reason for them to be. Plenty of other players around the country playing loads of games, matches twice a week etc. Look at Chelsea's line-up last night. Difference is, its easier to do when you're winning.
-
How anyone can suggest we've been abysmal for weeks and still be taken seriously I'll never know.
-
Why do you have serious doubts over his attitude?
-
Putting aside the utter shambles of a game for a minute, when did our away support stop really singing? Relatively speaking , that's the worst support I've ever seen from us. Sent from my RM-875_eu_euro1_217 using Tapatalk

What's your point? What do you want him to say?
-
You think Bertrand has been "sketchy at best"?
-
F*****g hell Spurs have been on a jammy run, ridiculous.

What exactly has happened with Michu?
