  1. Yeah, I expected more out of Rodriguez and thought Davis would be be a match for having either Gordon or McGregor, I'm not sure what your point is?
  2. No-one is saying they should be "intrinsically linked" but by your logic we can't consider Lambert a bargain as he hasn't left the club yet? And again, no-one is saying the club has "no more money to spend", but spending £10m on "potential" that we have got very little out of half a season in is relevant for a club our size that is a massive amount of money.
  3. Not when you think what half that money could have bought us in terms of a decent keeper.
  4. Because it fits well with his song?
  5. Maybe. But the point is we've spent £10m+ on forwards with "potential" that haven't really delivered anything for us yet and we're nearly half way through the season.
  6. No, they look bargains. But on the basis we only have a finite amount of money to spend on players, the amount they cost versus how much we get out of them is relevant. Even more worrying that we've also spent £3m+ on Mayuka.
  7. Well using Benteke as an example, he's shown what you can get for £7m, looks head and shoulders above Rodrigues.
  8. Anyone see Martin O'Neill in the post-match interview on Match of the Day on Saturday night, not a happy man at all!
  9. He's not banging them in for Forest. We won't get £5m for him.
  10. No-one is going to pay £5m for Sharp.
  11. Think we'll only bring in one or two new players absolute max in January.
  12. Agreed, but you could well argue that Reading should have had a pen for Cork's trip on Tabb in the first half, so the two probably balance themselves out.
  13. In relation to the number of fans that Reading had there, I can't think of a quieter away following at St Marys.
  14. What's the point? What would booing actually achieve? I'm interested to know. You actually think it's fair enough to boo a Saints player coming on as sub in a massive game for our season that was still very much in the balance? Really?

    Shaw

Not really, as he's not got a 2 week gap without playing, shouldn't be too much of a problem. Agree though, the lad has been excellent, really gone beyond my expectations for him for this season.
  16. I didn't think Fonte would be able to cut it in the Prem - happy to be proved wrong, he's been excellent. Should be our captain in my opinion.
  17. Said after the game, at least half of a keeper's job is to do all the unseen things, talking to the back 4, sweeping up behind them etc and that's what he did very well. Plus was reasonably comfortable against Reading's corners and set pieces. Hopefully see Davis have a settled run in the team for a little while now.
  18. Pretty much agree with all that, but it was Yoshida and not Mayuka playing centre back for us. Still felt we were a bit shaky at the back at times, against what is a very average Reading side.
  19. Brilliant effort and performance from England, such a tough place to tour and get wins.
  20. And here is your answer
  21. Ha, that is ridiculous, think he gets all that because people know he'll reply.
  22. That one I can understand not being everyone's cup of tea - but the original poster said "when grown men sing **** songs about some of are more mediocre players, ie most of them!".
  23. I think you should avoid football and forums until you understand how to read and follow a thread.........
  24. Fitness won't be a problem, he managed a full 90 minutes up at Liverpool on Saturday. As you say, it'll be sharpness. I reckon he'll be given the benefit of any doubt and almost certainly will play.
  25. As opposed to missing a couple of months of the season due to suspension like he usually does. Their midweek game against Reading will be an interesting one.
