  1. Well done for finally jumping on the bandwagon Will be a good weekend this, late kick off on a Saturday, up in the north-east, loads on the p**s, decent way to sign off the season regardless of promotion etc.
  2. Am I right in thinking that they stop doing them sometimes when Saints have a big away game?
  3. Absolutely spot on to be fair. What can any of us do to keep them going? Not that much apart from the obvious - use them as much as you can, even if it's just grabbing a midweek pint every other week, it all helps. Like you say, once they're gone, they're gone and will be lost for good.
  4. The Old Kings Head or the Barrowboy and Banker always have plenty of Saints fans in them.
  5. Lots of reasons why pubs are suffering; High amount of tax we pay on a pint doesn't help. Number of other forms of entertainment people have nowadays at home - sky tv, internet, xbox etc, plenty of other things than going to the pub; Chain pubs dominance; Lots of lazy landlords and pub managemnt - I don't have that much sympathy for a lot that show no enterprise or creativity and do nothing put pull copious amounts of Fosters - if they can't compete on price, then try and compete on other things, entertainment, rare beers, sports teams, etc. I don't know what it is about Southampton, but it's one of the worst cities of its size for good, proper pubs, particularly in town and I don't know anywhere else that has such a problem with pubs closing.
  6. How many chickens you managed to count so far?
  7. The pretty obvious point that was being made, is if you are a "football tourist" its generally better to take a step back and take in the game/club/ground you've been to see, rather than bouncing around the place doing as you want and making a fool of yourself. Its common courtesy in any situation.
  8. Good. Cuts out all the JCLs.
  9. I wonder how Doncaster beat us without it back in December?
  10. Yeah, should be no problem up there at all.
  11. Yep, decent walk that, wouldn't take more than about 20mins going along the river, few pubs on the way, not the best, but they'd do and there's plenty at London Bridge once you get there. How old's your lad?
  12. Bit harsh on 'The9' there, thought his photos were quite good.
  13. What do you think?
  14. So if Le Tissier had moved to Spurs, you'd have followed him there with your home-made x-factor style placards would you?
  15. Well I agree that we've already got plenty of idiotic fans, no real need to add more to them. I couldn't care less what labels people wear or car they drive, not sure what that's got to do with anything.
  16. Bristol City won't get 9 points from those games unfortunately. Good research though!
  17. Yes, he's probably not quite as fit as he could be, but putting that to one side, I think it was a bit of a strange signing, especially as a partner for Lambert up front. A player like Lee is a better partner for Lambert due to his pace and movement. Sharp doesn't really offer that. Still a quality player to have in the squad and good to bring in if Lambert gets injured. Don't know what the player himself will make of being down the pecking order, surprsied he didn't get on earlier on Saturday.
  18. Unfortunately no photos of me from Saturday. Probably because I didn't go to the game with 3 mates, all buying matching shirts and scarves, stand behind the goal and outside the players entrance with cr@p looking home made banners waving them madly like the people that go along to X-factor or the last night of big brother.
  19. What comments are uncalled for? They looked ridiculous.
  20. I'm not Sibley's biggest fan, but fair play to him, no problem with what he "tweeted". Typical Skates winge about how hard done by they always are, Sibley could have written a lot worse than that.
  21. Why sing anything to that tune?
  22. And he's a good, proper, down to earth lad to boot, makes it even better.
  23. Not. Just stick with being f*****g loud.
  24. Yep, same concourse. Easy enough jib I'd have thought. Going to be a nightmare getting a beer at half time mind.
  25. Not really. They've not even reached our -10 in League One yet, despite going into admin twice and writing off a stupid amount of debt in the process.
