  1. Didn't think we played well over all, but we did create a lot of chances. Probably deserved the win in the end but plenty to work on. Wrexham won't pull up any trees this season but they should comfortably have enough to survive.
  2. People on here keep banging on about Johansson, who no one had heard of before he played against us for Rotherham. Just because you've never heard of him doesn't mean he's crap.
  3. Not viewed as a direct replacement, but they did sign this guy. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cjd2dlek1z7o
  4. I've been to America plenty of times and aside from the obesity, that isn't my experience at all. I would say a lot of Brits meet that description though.
  5. We were in terminal decline under Gao, it's only thanks to Ralph that we didn't get relegated sooner than we did. But it was coming even without the takeover as we had no money to spend. SR have made a mess of things but we'd have been relegated under Gao too before long.
  6. As a Reform voter I don't necessarily disagree with a lot of those, but I'd have Starmer over Corbyn any day. The thought of Corbyn anywhere near power is scary. Problem with Starmer is he sways with the wind a lot, so it's hard to say he's honest, principled etc.
  7. Well of course the squad will be weaker, we got relegated. That's football. Fernandes and Dibling will almost certainly go, but we will bring players in who are hopefully good enough to get us promoted. Early signs from Quarshie and Downs are promising.
  8. Decent loan fee, wages off the books, and he'd still be our player so could come back if we get promoted next year. As long as we're able to replace him (probably with another loan) then it makes sense for all parties really.
  9. It's an absolute beauty...apart from the lack of stripes on the back again. Why?!
  10. The trouble is, even players like those you mention cost relatively big money these days. Why is it on this forum that if people have never heard of someone, it must mean they're crap and Saints are being 'clever'? What do people think scouts are for? Clubs like Saints absolutely have to be clever in the transfer market. I know nothing about this guy and if he signs and turns out to be crap then fair enough. But we had the same crap when Fernandes was linked last year. Were we trying to be 'clever' then? Besides, most of the bigger deals happen at the end of the window. I'm sure we'll sign one or two more known quantities then, but we already have plenty in our ranks.
  11. Scary, yet not at all surprising.
  12. Yes please. Have a mate who's a Celtic fan and has been raving about him for the last two years.
  13. Not really arguing, just saying I don't think Sargent is realistic. Got the £20M figure from here. Sainz one I'd have liked but again realistically out of our reach. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx23d1dn38qo
  14. Norwich want around £20M for Sargent and he has Premier League interest. Signing proven Championship goalscorers when you're in the Championship is very difficult, besides which we already have a few in our ranks. Whoever we sign will be a gamble but Downs looks like a good profile.
  15. Sorry, couldn't resist. 😉
  16. Nothing but respect for KWP, my favourite player over the last few years. Always played with a smile on his face and gave his all even when everything around him looked hopeless. Quality player. Sad that he's going but he's given us great service. Good luck Kyle!
  17. Don't know why people are so obsessed with age, it really doesn't matter, the important thing is they're good enough. I remember loads of moaning on here when we were linked with Fernandes last summer as he was barely 20 and had only played in Portugal. On the other hand we've signed plenty of older 'experienced' dross. I've no idea if Quarshie and possibly Downs are good enough, but to write them off before they've even kicked a ball just because they're young is ridiculous. Besides that, most of the more 'experienced' signings will happen later in the window.
  18. Too much white and no stripes on the back. Another kit I wont be getting. Shame as other than that I quite like it.
  19. Have you ever been? Stunning and varied scenery, amazing weather, and in my experience the majority of people are very friendly. It has it's problems like anywhere but it pisses all over this country.

We are. Have a look around you. Look at what the most common boys name was last year.
  21. Their loss. It's a fantastic country.
  22. Jonathan Rowe went to Marseille last summer, no chance he'd come here.
  23. Problem with that is, unless he signs a new contract, he will only have a year left next summer which will diminish his value. If he won't sign a new contract, we really need to sell him this summer to maximise his value.
  24. Don't want Keane anywhere near Saints, would rather stick with what we have. There's a reason why he's never been a regular for Everton. He's looked terrible every time I've watched him and scores own goals for fun.
  25. A couple of years old, but this is an interesting watch if you want to know more about his background.
