  1. The trouble is, even players like those you mention cost relatively big money these days. Why is it on this forum that if people have never heard of someone, it must mean they're crap and Saints are being 'clever'? What do people think scouts are for? Clubs like Saints absolutely have to be clever in the transfer market. I know nothing about this guy and if he signs and turns out to be crap then fair enough. But we had the same crap when Fernandes was linked last year. Were we trying to be 'clever' then? Besides, most of the bigger deals happen at the end of the window. I'm sure we'll sign one or two more known quantities then, but we already have plenty in our ranks.
  2. Scary, yet not at all surprising.
  3. Yes please. Have a mate who's a Celtic fan and has been raving about him for the last two years.
  4. Not really arguing, just saying I don't think Sargent is realistic. Got the £20M figure from here. Sainz one I'd have liked but again realistically out of our reach. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx23d1dn38qo
  5. Norwich want around £20M for Sargent and he has Premier League interest. Signing proven Championship goalscorers when you're in the Championship is very difficult, besides which we already have a few in our ranks. Whoever we sign will be a gamble but Downs looks like a good profile.
  6. Sorry, couldn't resist. 😉
  7. Nothing but respect for KWP, my favourite player over the last few years. Always played with a smile on his face and gave his all even when everything around him looked hopeless. Quality player. Sad that he's going but he's given us great service. Good luck Kyle!
  8. Don't know why people are so obsessed with age, it really doesn't matter, the important thing is they're good enough. I remember loads of moaning on here when we were linked with Fernandes last summer as he was barely 20 and had only played in Portugal. On the other hand we've signed plenty of older 'experienced' dross. I've no idea if Quarshie and possibly Downs are good enough, but to write them off before they've even kicked a ball just because they're young is ridiculous. Besides that, most of the more 'experienced' signings will happen later in the window.
  9. Too much white and no stripes on the back. Another kit I wont be getting. Shame as other than that I quite like it.
  10. Have you ever been? Stunning and varied scenery, amazing weather, and in my experience the majority of people are very friendly. It has it's problems like anywhere but it pisses all over this country.

We are. Have a look around you. Look at what the most common boys name was last year.
  12. Their loss. It's a fantastic country.
  13. Jonathan Rowe went to Marseille last summer, no chance he'd come here.
  14. Problem with that is, unless he signs a new contract, he will only have a year left next summer which will diminish his value. If he won't sign a new contract, we really need to sell him this summer to maximise his value.
  15. Don't want Keane anywhere near Saints, would rather stick with what we have. There's a reason why he's never been a regular for Everton. He's looked terrible every time I've watched him and scores own goals for fun.
  16. A couple of years old, but this is an interesting watch if you want to know more about his background.
  17. Very impressed, one of the few positives. Could be a nice bonus for us next season.
  18. Final whistle of the Man City game.
  19. If we don't get Still, there will be plenty of interest from Championship clubs (he turned down Sunderland last year), possibly PL clubs too. He's had several years managing successfully in the French top flight, I don't know how that's comparable to Mad Nate. Still would be a bit of a coup, I think some people need to realise we're no longer a PL club.
  20. Fernandes by a mile. Quality and a great attitude. Rambo second. Can't vote though as the app is shite.
  21. Less than £23 per game, it really isn't that bad. Some people just love to complain for the sake of it. £474 to renew in the Northam, very happy with that.
  22. At last Starmer/Labour seem to be talking tough on immigration, but the proof will be in the pudding. Trouble is, it's shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. The fabric of this country has changed forever over the last 20 odd years and it can't be reversed.
  23. Celebrated like we'd won the cup at full time and don't care if it's tinpot! We've had F all to cheer about this season. Usually would despise the tactics but understand them today, and it worked. We needed a point and we got it. We have so little quality in forward areas. Dias is a prick. Credit where it's due for the team, they all battled really well today when it would have been easy to be on the beach. Bree is not a PL player but had a good game. Sule put a real shift in. Welington was good and should be starting, think he'll be an asset next season. Support was brilliant again, especially considering what we've been served up all season. Happy with that and avoiding the record, now onto next season.
  24. Just like the city council did for the awful new welcome signs. And no, we shouldn't change the badge.
  25. Chakvetadze is a good shout. Sainz is near the top of my list too, been a standout performer for Norwich. Might be too expensive though.
