The scenes after that winning goal were epic, never seen anything like it at SMS! Still don't think we'll get top 2 but if you can't enjoy moments like that then football's not for you. Keeps the season alive, what a crazy league this is!

Reading that thread, I had to remind myself that with 4 games to go they are top of the league. It's as bad as this place. A lot of football fans really are entitled morons.
-
Eh? Aribo was brilliant tonight, clear MOTM. THB was good though.

According to Alfie House... Leeds United offered Saints reciprocal pricing at the start of the season but suggested £15, which was deemed unreasonable by the club. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24237786.leeds-united-charging-southampton-fans-47-away-tickets/

Rather Stephens than Manning, no?

Think people are being a bit harsh on Lumley. I think he's been pretty decent in the few appearances he's made, certainly no worse than Baz. Also don't forget he was voted Reading's player of the season last year so he obviously has something about him. Personally as we have little to play for until the playoffs, I'd give Baz some time out and see what Lumley can do for a few games.

I think what you're missing from not being there is that those two blokes had helped get the atmosphere going in the first place, something the jobsworth stewards obviously took offence to. Hence the fully merited reaction to them.

Saints Fan Advisory Board - Got Any Balls ?
LuckyNumber7 replied to SaintsLoyal's topic in The Saints
Absolutely terrible that the club failed to acknowledge in any way the death of Chris Nicholl. No mention at all, not even a picture on the scoreboard during the minutes applause (organised by fans). Combined with the disgusting treatment of those two fans in the Kingsland the club has had a shocker. -
Not much to say on the match itself, not a great performance but had enough chances to win it. We were never comfortable though and desperately needed that second goal. Auto's are gone now, very frustrating. As for the stewards in the Northam/Kingsland corner and especially that ginger woman, you're a fucking disgrace. Same goes for the useless cops who seemingly have nothing better to do than boot out a couple of harmless loyal fans. Pathetic cowards the lot of you, shame on the club.

Hope you enjoy our wonderful weather! 😆

Why are some of our fans so dead set against trying to create a better atmosphere? St Mary's is dull as fuck these days so anything that tries to improve that gets a thumbs up from me. I don't see anything on that link that's embarrassing or any mention of ultras.

Indeed, if the EU were only a trading bloc we'd still be in it.

Gotta feel for one of our old midfield stalwarts. Can you imagine the moaning from the likes of Klopp having to deal with this kind of fixture congestion, even makes our own run in look tame! https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68630567

Had the privilege of meeting him very briefly a few years ago. Knowing who he was and also that he posted on here I'd have loved to have had more of a chat with him but sadly didn't have time. He did seem like a lovely down to earth bloke. Very sad news. RIP.
-
Well he's not really a striker he's a winger, and we have plenty of those. The finances recently released show we did need to sell to some extent at least, and an offer of more than £20M for someone who had proved nothing outside the Championship was probably too good to turn down. That, plus I think it's clear Tella didn't want to hang around in the Championship again, especially with a top Bundesliga club in for him.

4-0 wins against Blackburn and Sheff Weds. 5-0 against Swansea... 😉

God the relentless negativity on here from some, even when we win is tiring. I enjoyed today, lots of goals and entertainment again as is becoming the norm, no-one can say we're boring. Aside from the little wobble we played well and could have won by a bigger margin. I would agree that Stephens should be at RB rather than THB but I don't think it made a big impact today and KWP should be back next game anyway. Rothwell deserves more credit than he gets too, another 2 vital goals, first was a good finish in particular. Their defence couldn't handle Sully, if only he could finish. Top 2 still seems unlikely but it's far from over yet. UTS

Wasn't at the game but tbf that safe standing area behind the goal looked half empty. Also that stand was closed for redevelopment for the first few months of the season so I'm guessing there's no ST holders in there. Probably next season that will become there main singing and standing area.

Nothing tbh but they couldn't do a worse job than what Labour are doing right now.
-
Southampton City Council plead poverty but somehow still find millions for ridiculous and unnecessary traffic schemes and 'improvements' that nobody wants and have brought the city to a standstill and made it a nightmare to get anywhere. Can't wait to vote the morons out.
-
So from that it looks like the whole of the Northam will be safe standing rather than just the back half? Excellent.
-
Same with some of the nonsense on here whenever we lose. What I liked after the Hull game was THB going to the fans and giving a chin up gesture, as if to say there's a long way to go don't panic. The players will draw a line and move on. Defeats are part of football and there's often a fine line between winning and losing, but some people seem completely incapable of being rational after a defeat.
-
Generally yes but tbf they were silent for 80 minutes.
-
Getting anywhere yesterday was an absolute nightmare, imagine it'll be just as bad if not worse today. It's staying closed all day today, I've decided to stay home.
-
Just back, disappointing performance especially the first half, but fair play to Hull they were excellent. Might have been a different game if we had scored with that very good chance early on. Aribo was great again after coming on but the damage was already done, can't keep giving teams two goal head starts. Hey ho, Leeds favourites now but let's see how they cope with being out in front. Loved THB's 'chin up' gesture to the fans at the end. Keep the faith, plenty more twists and turns to come, onto Saturday.
