  1. Love the sash kits! Imo our best home shirt for a few years, although I prefer the third kit. For the first time I'm tempted to get both.
  2. Well done everyone involved, very proud of my club.
  3. Completely agree with this, it's a myth that SMS has never had a good atmosphere. I've been a ST holder since leaving The Dell and there have been plenty of games where SMS has been rocking, sadly they have been few and far between in recent years. The feeling of apathy at home games these days is very tangible which is sad. Saturday was a lot better though, I can only hope that continues.
  4. If we lose all of our remaining games then yes we'll go down. But we won't.
  5. Christ there are some ridiculous over reactions on here. First half we were well in it until the sending off which completely changed the dynamic of the game and Newcastle did throw a lot at us for the last 15 before half time. However I can barely remember them having a chance in the second half, our players gave everything they had and we were only undone by a silly lapse in concentration from Valery, who that mistake aside had a decent game I thought. He is still young and was making his comeback after several months out, cut him a bit of slack. Seems like Cedric has suddenly become a world beater since leaving when in reality he was pretty poor for most of his time here and often slated on this forum. The way we battled in the second half I think a point would have been justified, it certainly wasn't a disgrace like some are claiming. A disappointing result but we should still be fine, just need to pick up a few more points here and there. Biggest positive I took away was the sense of camaraderie between the fans and players which seems to have been missing for a long time. Providing we're not playing behind closed doors that level of support needs to continue.
  6. FFS, we had an off day yesterday, with a few key players missing, it happens. That aside I think we have shown plenty of fight over the last few months and even if we failed to win another game all season we would still likely stay up as long as we picked up a few draws along the way. Some people on this forum seem incapable of handling defeat.
  7. They didn't have that tune and neither did Papa Waigo, he's trolling. Papa Waigo, he's always offside....
  8. Another fine example of the 'tolerant' left.
  9. I'm a leave voter and never wanted Ralph sacked. He's a good manager who was going through a tough time. I'm chuffed to bits at the turn around. Ralph is a good fit for us.
  10. I'm generally what most would consider a happy clapper and am against booing your own players and team, but even I snapped yesterday and found myself booing at times (which I'm not proud of). Had a season ticket since we moved to SMS but I dread going to game these days, there is no enjoyment to be had at all. I really hate the vast majority of this team, how they constantly bottle it and have made us a laughing stock and find it very hard to muster up the enthusiasm to give them support anymore. Our home record over the last few years is diabolical. However credit where it's due for turning it around yesterday and I had genuinely forgotten how it felt to walk out of SMS with a smile on my face after a win. As this is the Ralph thread, he is not the problem and changing him would make little difference imo. Unfortunately it's going to take a long time to fix the shambles of a squad we have now, and that's not to mention the ownership issues.
  11. Like many of our players he seems to think he's way better than he actually is. He's been here for nearly four years and has been mostly poor in that time and if it's true he left before the end then that's very arrogant and disrespectful. Let's not forget he 'earning' tens of thousands of pounds a week. I would be happy not to see him in a Saints shirt again.
  12. It's about the journey not the destination. I don't think Shanghai Saint is alone in thinking the Premier League isn't much fun.
  13. Totally this. It was the fans that were left in the stadium uniting and showing some defiance and pride in our club, not the the players on the pitch. As proven by the frosty reception given to the players when they tried to go round applauding the fans afterwards. In fact there were plenty of songs about past players. As fans we will always be here, the shower of ****e representing us on Friday are only passing through. Don't confuse pride in the club with support for the players.
  14. Very saddened to hear this news, he stepped in in our hour of need because he genuinely cared and without him we may very well not have a club to support. Never really got the credit he deserved in a very turbulent time for Saints. R.I.P Leon.
  15. Great post, spot on! I really don't understand the posts on here trying to play it down, it's bizarre. When I heard who we had been drawn against I got such a rush of adrenaline and been buzzing ever since, nothing is better than beating that lot to the east. Who cares what division they're in ffs!
  16. Ralph is absolutely the best thing about this club at the moment. Such a shame that he is having to work with both hands tied behind his back. I dread the day he leave.
  17. What a huge disappointment he has been. I was genuinely excited when we signed him but he doesn't even look like a footballer, literally no redeeming features. Certainly battling with Carillo for our worst ever signing. Hopefully he can do enough up there to earn a permanent transfer somewhere next summer.
  18. Good for him.
  19. I can only assume you're not from Southampton as you don't appear to get the rivalry. It matters not a jot what league they are in, all that matters is it's Portsmouth against Southampton and for me and I suspect many others it is the biggest game of the season. Games like this are what supporting Saints is all about, and 'winning in itself' means everything. Very strange post.
  20. I thought he was good personally, reminds me a bit of Troy Deeney.
  21. Despite the usual £££s spent, West Ham have looked as useless as ever. Albeit against a very good team.
  22. Never seen Danso play but I signed him for Saints on Fifa and he was pretty good! Young, strong and pacey. No idea what he's like in real life but in Ralph we trust.
  23. No ill feeling from me, he's clearly not good enough for this level any more but scored some important goals in his time here and will always remember the 'Park Life' rant last season. Now it appears we've got our money back. Personally don't give a toss about the stuff he's put on social media, seen much worse. Just hope we still have time to get someone in now. Thanks and good luck Charlie.
  24. I've never been his biggest fan as a player but he improved leaps and bounds last season, and also appears to have a great attitude which is refreshing. Well done to Nathan for the strides he's made and good news for the club, although as said above the timing feels like a bit of a distraction from the probable lack of incomings today.
  25. Rogic is a good player, certainly much better than Armstrong. My main reservation over him is he struggles to play 90 minutes. Also it's now on the BBC that Turnbull has rejected Celtic's offer. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48643240
