  1. This exactly. We're all sad that Adkins has gone, and I wish him all the best and thank him for what he has done for us. But, He's not the bee's knees. No guarantee that we'd stay up and I think NC is more responsible for getting us where we are now than Adkins. We have to look forwards, not backwards. Timing is not perfect, but we've just managed to get one of the highest rated managers in Europe with ambition. To become successful you have to take risks. You get nowhere standing still.
  2. take it yourself and tweet/email it to them. Modern technology and all that. Make sure you stand next to the parking machine at the ground too, just so they know
  3. unfortunately, there is no room for sentiment in football nowadays. It's the same kind of thing with Sharp/KD. Both played big parts in us getting where we are now, as has Adkins, but are they the right people to take us to the next step? And as for your comment, if you aren't going to support the team (11 players and manager no matter who they are) then don't bother turning up anyway.
  4. Same original source that called the Benitez to Chelsea deal a good 3 days before the British media picked up on it. Make of that what you will! Will be sad to see Adkins go, but like in all businesses, especially football, if there is the option for a better person to do a job, then the opportunity has to be taken. It'll be a gamble, but as I seem to remember the same type of reaction from the fans when we sacked Pardew and many questioning why such a big gamble was taken to install Adkins. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Maybe having a more continental manager would help us to secure more lucrative continental players which we seem to be after (Astori/Coutinho etc - the latter having played under Pochettino IIRC) and will suit the players we have better. Ramirez for example, he hasn't exactly set the world alight, is this due Adkins style of management/play? who knows. If this deal does happen, I will be sad to see Adkins go, as I think most of the fanbase would. My biggest concern isn't Pochettino, it's the fan reaction. What we mustn't start doing is voive any frustration onto the new manager and/or the team. Not his fault he's been offered a job. I no doubt some will take it out on him, and they'll most probably be the ones who have screamed at those who have stated they do not believe Adkins is up for the job. But that's life. Will it be the end of the world if Adkins goes, No. Will it be the end of the world if Poichettino comes in, No. Let's get behind the team and leave the running of the club to those who's job it is to do so. If they think it's the best thing to do for the football club then so be it.
  5. Good luck to him, some game time will do him the world of good. Not always the most talented, but I liked his work rate. In his own way he indirectly helped us to get promoted last season
  6. still unattached. Looked good in a couple of games, but if he was good enough, would he be left without a club for so long? Also declaring that you've always been a fan of Liverpool whilst on loan at Everton doesn't really go down too well
  7. I still stick by my OP
  8. in answer to the OP, yes I would welcome RDM. I'd support any manager
  9. If Halsey did give it for the incident between Guzan and Puncheon, it's another shocker he's had, Guzan clearly gets the ball
  10. It's unacceptable for any player to cheat/dive. Not being at the game an just checking updates on my phone, I was buzzing when seeing the final result. I still am delighted, but after seeing the highlights, it's left a sour taste in my mouth. Villa had more than enough chances to win the game, but was it a penalty, never in a million years. Anyone who genuinely thinks it was either hasn't seen it, or is just a moron. I wonder if the same fickle fans that boo'd Guly for not always setting the world alight, will now boo Rodriguez for blatant cheating?
  11. he's 19 and played nearly 30 games for Real Madrid's first team. Hardly what I'd call a career on the "downhill"
  12. 1 win in 8 and still hasn't fixed our achilles heels: not holding onto leads and poor tactics. Defeats to Villa & Chelsea and I think NA will be gone
  13. They'll beat us on saturday
  14. That's the problem we have. Instead of building a squad which can keep us up, we spent too much money on players who aren't overwhelmingly good. (compare us to West Ham) our bench is extremely weak
  15. we're planning for the premier league next season, not the championship. If we were, Sharp/Harding/Hammond would still be with us
  16. I don't get the big fuss about Butland? seen him play 4/5 times this year, looks over-rated and very raw. the last thing we need is an inexperienced goal-keeper who's prone to making mistakes - we already have one
  17. update, Sharp just confirmed no deal done
  18. may be a deal that'll see him transferred permanently in July. Anyway, seems like a nice guy, but he isn't good enough for where we are now, or where we want to be
  19. familiar face at 1:22
  20. he couldn't even get in their team...
  21. At the moment, he's the best choice we have for the GK spot. I've said it for a while now. Davis sadly isn't good enough, and PG the same, the latter needs a loan spell to learn his trade a bit more. He had an awful first 10 minutes, but that was just rustiness, his distribution from hand was superb, not from foot though (Seems to be a recurring theme with us having goalie's who can't kick!). Give him a few games and I think we'll be ok. I thought he did well to recover from his early mistakes, especially in front of his beloved Chappel. Would KD or Gazza had the mental ability to recover from those and produce a half-decent display?
  22. Yeah, Sporting Fareham FC
  23. I feel there will be anarchy if he goes for £5m.
