3-0 home win

can we play him? he's more mobile than some of the players we've had
-
I remember saying after the Sheff Weds game I didn't think PG was good enough yet for the Saints team, and I've been proven right. Last night was shocking, and not just the goal. His distribution was poor, and Nick Clegg is has more command than he does. I was sat directly behind him when they had the free kick and the gentleman next to me said "they're going to score this, look at the room he's given them" and they did. You can't even say it was a decently hit shot, it was **** poor. Yet again he's cost us points at home, and those 4 points could be the difference between us surviving and going down. He clearly has potential, and will become a decent keeper one day, but he isn't good enough to be playing PL level at the moment, a spell out on loan is what is needed I think. Yes, he's young, and yes he's still learning, but that's no excuse for last night. One of the first rules goalkeepers are taught is to get your hands under the ball and your body behind it. Boruc made a half-mistake in the spurs 2nd goal (was more defences fault than his) but yet he got abused, and still is getting abuse from "fans, yet Gazzaniga has made 3 shockers in the last 4 games and still gets support. Double Standards?

Wasn't that far off was it

Another 2 points thrown away. If we can't beat teams as poor as Swansea were yesterday at home, then we won't be staying in the league. It's as simple as that. It's alright Nigel telling us there were positives, which there were, but we need points, and we need to be seeing games out like that. For me the negatives out-weighed the positives again. Positives -Shaw, Cork and Puncheon came in and all looked good, hopefully they'll all be given a run in the team. We seemed to defend o.k. yesterday negatives - 2 points thrown away, we created as many chances for Swansea as they did themselves. Lack of leadership on the pitch is worrying, if Lallana spent as much time rallying the players as he did falling over we'd improve. Why were there no attacking subs made? Lambert and Ramirez were **** poor yesterday, yet stayed on the pitch for the whole game - What does Mayuka have to do to get on the pitch? We ran out of ideas (not for the first time this season) and why was every pass made backwards or sideways? The team was set out offensively, but why were the players playing so negatively.

Any chance we could get him back? He did more damage when he came on that our front 3 did all game. Good goal, and yes he did celebrate, but so what? He was respectful, didn't go round giving it the Ricardo Fuller

So, that's now 13 points lost from winning positions

Late goals cost us last season too. I know over the course of a season you're bound to concede some late goals, but our inability to hold onto a lead is worrying. The team have no belief in themselves to go on and see the game out. The one major factor in this, for me, is the Captain. Lallana isn't a captain, nor a leader, and it shows. When Dyer scored yesterday the whole team looked down and looking around for inspiration, what was Lallana doing? Stood near the half way line with his hands on his hips. We've been in a winning position in 6 of our 11 league matches this season, and we've only gone on to win 1. That's shocking, and especially when you look at the manner of throwing away the points too. Are we not training for 90 minute games? I was expecting us to have a right go at Swansea for the last 5-10 minutes, but we didn't, the players looked knackered and out of ideas. Concentration is another key factor, and it's what separates the top players to the o.k. players. We have too many players who lose concentration at key moments, and in this division, you'll get punished for it. I think this does come down to the manager, as well as the players, but mainly Nigel. Whatever happened to the "winning mentality" I don't know, but we seem scared of holding onto a lead. Unless this changes, we'll be going down -
he clearly hasn't been signed for his goal-scoring ability. No goal in any level since 2009

Tomorrow is the type of game that, if we are to have any chance of staying in this league, we need to win. Nothing less. It'll be difficult, let's not get ahead of ourselves, Swansea are a good team, who keep hold of the ball well. I just hope we don't have the same midfield performance as Monday night or we'll get beat. Would like to see a 4321 Xmas tree formation (as has been posted before). Also think that we could see Boruc back in goal. Will also be good to welcome back 2 ex-Saints, hopefully they'll both have shockers if they play

1. Nobody knows why Pardew left Saints, it may have been that he just needed to go. In most jobs people are sacked without knowing who'll replace them 2. Adkins needed to sort out a few details with S****horpe. The whole process was done to try and suit both parties, which it did. 3. As has been said before, it's to stop contractors taking the p*ss. Sometimes things need to be paused, mistakes ironed out, and then restarted. 4. The local media who print a lot of BS, NC stood up to them and showed them who calls the shots. 5. Not all human beings get on, face it. Some ex-pro's do think they can take the **** a bit with free stuff. It's a business we're running, not a charity 6. Why should they be allowed in and be able to print pictures of our games for nothing? It was only blown out of proportion by the sun's childish tantrum 7. Again, we're running a business, not a charity. I've been with my car insurance company for the last 10 years, but if I can get a cheaper quote, i'll change. 8. There still is a community aspect of the club (Saints Foundation etc) and without ML we wouldn't have a club 9. Change can be good, most football supporters are men, pretty women sell things. 10. Les Reed managed Charlton in the Premier League 11. Again, not everyone gets on, it's a business not a charity. He has a job to do, and it's not a popularity contest. Successful businesspeople are ruthless, people don't like it as they want an easy ride. 13. Adkins is responsible for targeting players, NA should have seen we need defenders and put his foot down instead of being a yes man 14. We still play in Red and White. I didn't see many people (yourself included) complaining when we wore the sash kit. Hardly "dropping tradition" is it? Cardiff's owners can be accused of that, but not NC. The reason we are in the position we are is down to Adkins, he's out of his depth. Anyone who thinks NC picks the team/tactics is seriously deluded. NC may not be popular, but he's successful. That's what this industry is about

all this "bury our heads in the sand and hope the problems go away" malarky isn't working.
-
yes, it probably was handball for the first goal, but that's still no excuse for us failing to close down an international striker on the edge of the box. No desire, no fight, no clue.
-
Dear Nigel, Thanks for everything over the past 2 years, what you've done for us is nothing short of incredible and you will always be remembered fondly by us. However, the time has come to go our separate ways, it just isn't working, and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting dimmer and dimmer. All the best.

How many tactical mistakes is Adkins allowed? (Part 2)

out of his depth -
75 minutes gone, we're 2-0 down, and don't look like improving at all and yet Adkins STILL doesn't make a change. I'm sorry, but time to go. It's not working
-
Is there a way in which both teams can get 0 points today? and fwiw, I think QPR will win 2-0, unless Reading get a 5 goal headstart
-
Is there a deal to be done with Blackpool?
supersonic replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Muppet Show
Before anyone says it, no this does not open the door for us to get Tom Ince, we don't need him. Phillips on the other hand... -
Solent, and several Palace fans that I know, seem to think that we can't recall him back. Either way, I'm not really too sure how he would help us. Great in the air, but his lack of ability with a football will stand out a country mile in the PL
-
Didn't we have one of these just a few days ago?

As far as it goes, if Caulker and Lees did something wrong, they deserve to be punished, no matter the circumstances. However, FIFA, UEFA and even the EU with Camoron need to intervene. Serbia is a vile place with disgusting "humans" living there. This is a country who less than 20 years ago went around murdering their own civilians for being Muslim. They still to this day celebrate the Srebrenica genocide and hail it as a "day of national pride and celebration".

Have also been to see Salisbury play this season and they have ex-Saints striker Jamie White up front, banging in goals for fun again this season. He got something like 54 league goals last season for Winchester. He was offered to Basingstoke in the summer, but they turned him down, choosing to sign another ex-Saint Jordace Holder-Spooner. I can't for the life of me think why, and probably is a major factor why they are 2nd bottom of the league. There are some VERY good players down in BSS or even as far down as Wessex prem. Guernsey have a striker (Ross Allen) who's got 20 goals already this season

West Brom are a good side, playing very well. Their home record is decent, our away record is shocking. They'll be too strong for us. 3-0 home win i'm afraid

don't get your hopes up

There's a reason why so many PL teams have turned down Bridge and he's playing in the championship
