  1. it's to do with travel, as they obviously have to fly to each away game, the CCL teams are generally situated closer to Gatwick/Heathrow than other leagues
  2. They do play in the Combined Counties League, yes. Not a strange choice at all, he's from Guernsey, his brother, Mark, is the Secretary and Matt himself is the President. Also, he's been training for a half-marathon, so is probably fitter than he's even been, not that he's going to be doing much running when he plays
  3. This. If you appoint a dull manager, expect dull football. This is the weakest England team I've known for a very long time
  4. seriously, get over the whole Redknapp thing.
  5. I don't get why people want Wigan to get points today? I know peopl don't like Redknapp but I'd rather the gap between us and the bottom 3 stayed as it it rather than got smaller!
  6. I thought it was good of the Reading fans to turn up as empty seats and hold a 90 minute silence.
  7. Wins for Chelsea and QPR will all but see us safe
  8. Think Fulham would do well to draw 2 matches at the same time!
  9. As long as either Wigan and Sunderland don't win we're ok. Not too bothered about Newcastle or Fulham. As long as we can stay 6/7 points ahead of Wigan/Sunderland I'll be happy. Sunderland have a tough run in and a dodgy managerial change, whereas Wigan have a VERY winnable FA Cup semi-final next weekend
  10. Lost 2-1 tonight, can still drop 3 points from Games-in-hand to still be top of the league, hopefully Egham drop some more points. Players looked, understandably, knackered tonight. Tomorrow will be interesting. MLT would be good for set pieces
  11. will be a chance for Matt to win some Silverware!
  12. very winnable game, brimming with confidence, could put us 10 points clear of the relegation zone and reach the magic 40 points mark. Even a point at this stage (unless Wigan & Sunderland win tomorrow) wouldn't be a bad result
  13. saving the best until last as they say
  14. if you actually read my post, it was based on the opinions and bed-wetters at the time of some decision on here, not what NA would be doing.
  15. he's now the first ever player-president!
  16. how is it? All are not premier league quality?
  17. It does bring an end to it, also proves NC was correct. Wish him well, but we've moved on up
  18. What a result, apart from the first 20 mins we dominated the game. Could, and probably should of had 4 or 5 but a win is a win. MOTM was JRod for me, really improved under MP, as have the team. Only "negative" was Hooiveld. played ok, but passing was awful, seemed to find Morrison more than Lambert. Only had to out-jump a 4"7 Le Fondre. Shaw also seemed to struggle today. I know he isn't the biggest but I'd like to see him attempt to challenge for headers, it puts us under so much pressue - but he's young and i'm sure he'll improve with experience. Lallana showed his class when he came on a Davies has to be signing of the season. We also need to get Boruc signed up. Thankfully we have someone running the club and not some of the bed-wetters on here, or we'd still be managed by NA, have De Ridder/Gazzanigga/Sharp still playing and probably be in Reading's position. Roll on West Ham!
  19. what a win for Villa this is. hopefully QPr beat wigan tomorrow - I think they'll go. especially with the distraction of a VERY winnable FA Cup semi-final
  20. He's been signed on for a few months now. Keep up lads!
  21. Nicola Cortese Football Genius!
  22. Win next week and I think we can relax. to be fair, as long as we can avoid defeat we'll be fine. We'll beat Stoke and West Ham at home and draw v Reading = 41 points.
  23. And what if he plays for Wales?
  24. well he'll be under an awful lot of pressure next year if they go down. And he's shown he doesn't function that well under pressure
