  1. what odds on him being our new manager?
  2. Point 1: Cortese does not pick the team or the tactics. In Adkins interview with Solent after the game he said "we're going to play 433" he didn't say "we have to play 433" Completely different. Point 2: As has been said before by some on here, if Adkins was not in full control of the team, what type of professional would carry on in his job and not do something about it? And also, if NC is picking the team/tactics, Adkins is redundant, so do you not think NC would have got rid of him by now? Point 3: In regards to transfers, NC, like any other chairman in the world of football, has the power to complete/veto any deal. Cortese does the negotiating, we know that. Any transfer between any football clubs in world football need the chairmans seal of approval first. Point 4: Adkins has spoke, quite openly, about what he calls the 'Transfer Team' which includes himself, NC, Les Reed, and probably Crosby and a few scouts, who get together and talk about who they think the club should try and sign (and probably sell). Adkins clearly does have a say in who we sign. Point 5: Football is a results-driven industry, and on the pitch results have not been good enough, the performance of individual players and tactical mistakes are down to Adkins. Next we'll be getting people saying NC phoned NA during the Man Utd game and told him to take off our best 3 players! Everyone a the club is party responsible for our poor start to the season, including both NC and NA, but the later more so
  3. Smashing bloke, would be really sad to see him go as he's worked wonders for us, but I think the PL is a step too far, too soon for him (and some of the players). Suicidal tactical decisions have cost us far too many points this year
  4. for footballing reasons, and footballing reasons only, I'd say Redknapp. It wouldn't surprise me if NC did appoint him, he's not really the type to think about whether people may get upset. An Italian manager would be good, one that knows how to organise a defence. Quite a few good names being thrown around on here, the likes of Karl Robinson however, not for us, we need a proven top level manager. Anyway, we still have a manager at the moment
  5. A draw again would be a great result. We have enough going forward, even with injuries, to cause them enough problems. I think we'll score at least 1 tomorrow, but game will be decided on how well our defense plays.
  6. couldn't give a sh*t what the reaction is, I don't need my ego fed. I would like to hear Jay's response though
  7. How can you sleep at night knowing a club has paid out nearly £8m for you and your only return is 2 goals (1 VERY lucky penalty) against a struggling championship team's reserves?
  8. My nomination would be either Delgado (who never really scored btw), Skacel, and a newcomer Rodriguez
  9. We never had a "sell-on fee" it was just a few more bonuses when he reaches 50 PL games etc
  10. Looks like we could be getting 2 regular season games @ Wembley next year. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000080982/article/nfl-to-announce-minnesota-vikings-game-in-london-in-2013
  11. Bet David James feels a bit silly now
  12. I just worry that we'll try and push through youngsters which aren't good enough instead of signing players who are
  13. Not every game
  14. Left footers definitely help, they help to give more balance to a team. A right footed player will automatically look to go right, and defenders know this. If you have a left footer who will go the other way, can open up new opportunities. Left footed players tend to be more creative too
  15. probably suits both Japanese TV and Brazilian TV
  16. would he have actually scored though? Just because he's a striker, doesn't mean he's guaranteed to score goals against poor teams.
  17. Pedersen at Blackburn was right footed but his Dad told him he wouldn't make it pro unless he became left footed. His left foot is now his strongest foot
  18. Lambert is one-footed. He may have scored a goal v Palace with his left foot but most touches are with his right. I wouldn't say we have one player who looks completely comfortable kicking with either foot. Lallana/Cork/Morgan are probably our best. One reason why Hammond isn't with us anymore. We do have some players on our books who don't look like they are either footed
  19. What planet do some Saints fans live on? Rangers are one of the biggest clubs in European, if not world football. Saints ARE a small team compared to them. Just because they now play in the 3rd division and we play in the top league doesn't wipe out 100 years of history. One club has 114 major domestic honours, the other has 2.
  20. Results on the pitch will have more of an impact, hence why the pressure already on him
  21. He needs to be relieved of duties as a captain before anythig else. He neve has been captain potential and never will. Great player, but not a captain. It was a nice touch to give him the armband for the city game, but it's not helping the team at all.
  22. Looking at stats, we're on course to get 20-22 points this season, which will probably see us relegated. If we'd have held on to the points in winning positions at home so far this year, we would be 11th
  23. Not saying we didn't need to improve it, but why spend 75% of transfer fees on strongest area?
  24. No we did not make the correct choices. Adkins had a fixation with JRod and £7m could have been used to sure up the defence. We scored more goals than any other team last season, which tends to suggest there isn't too much wrong with our strikers, yet we spent £22m improving the attacking parts of our team, and £2.8m + compo on 4 defensive players. What's the famous phrase, something about paying peanuts and getting monkeys...
