unless Griffin and HMRC are hand in glove with each other

Well it took an outrageous fluke/world class piece of improvisation for Brazil to score the first and a world class goal for the second. Credit to DPRK though, a very composed finish from their player. Shame Tsae ot a bit greedy right at the end and wasted a couple of opportunities I think Portugal will overcome DPRK, Ronaldo will dive all over the place and set up/score a goal or two. Can see Ivory Coast struggling though. As soon as Sven's Plan A fails against Korea they will be in trouble.

Jong Tae-Sae plays for Kawasaki Frontale in the Japanese J-League. He's one of only 3 players who are allowed to play outside of North Korea, but h'e sout of our league at this moment I would have thought

Just shows how effective an organised defence can be, regardless of any gulf in class. Considering most of the North Koreans play for teams in the North Korean army, it isn't surprised they are very organised and very disciplined. I only saw them give away what, 1 free kick in the first half? They have one of the best defensive records in the world during qualifying and it isn't surprising me their defending this well. I still believe Brazil will win it but it's going to take 1 or 2 fairly late goals IMO
-
There aren't any North Korean fans there for obvious reasons. China have flown in 1000 Chinese people to cheer the North Koreans on. Just before the game started they were all performing this synchronised clapping routine complete with conductor
-
Now why doesn't that surprise me? LOL
-
as their coach says "we are the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, do not use any other name!" Those hoping for Brazil to light up the tournament by going into double figures tonight will be disappointed to learn that North Korea (oops) had one of the best defensive records in the world during qualification. The South Koreans only won 1 of the 4 games played against them. I'm going for a 4-0 win tonight if Brazil turn up. If Brazil play badly it'll be a narrow 1-0.
-
I think the vuvuzelas are having more of an impact than the tournament organisers realise. They are so loud (can go up to 130 decibels apparently) that the players cannot communicate properly which is resulting in a slow tempo and plenty of mistakes.

Now come on Steve, be fair it was only 31-0 LOL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia_31%E2%80%930_American_Samoa

How long has Bahrain been an island in the Pacific Ocean? Anyway I think your correct in saying the Aussies joined the Asian Confederation because they kept getting knocked out by the 5th placed South American team. Daft for three reasons. 1: They qualified for the 2006 world cup by that very method. 2: The rules have changed now and the top Oceanic team now plays off against an Asian team. 3: Australia isn't in Asia As an aside Leeds and Newcastle are thought to be tracking one of Fiji's top strikers. . .
-
NZ qualified by topping the final Oceanic group which also contained Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. (Fiji actually beat them in one game) They then defeated Bahrain in the Asian/Oceanic two leg play off. That's the problem with the Oceanic section of World Cup qualifying, rugby is very much the no. 1 sport and all the teams are footballing minnows since Australia joined the Asian Confederation. Still fair play, considering most of their squad are semi pro that was an excellent result for them today.

the aesthetic look to the new layout is bleeding awful. It looks like what this forum would have looked like when it was first created. -
I thought we saw the best and worse of Heskey, he was an absolute handful for the USA CBs and gave them a torrid time all night. But we all know what his problem is, he can't hit a barn door with a banjo. He freed up a lot of space (illustrated perfectly with the first goal) but the problem was Rooney was dreadful, so a lot of Heskey's work went unnoticed. I thought barring Gerrard he was our best player.

Like the commentator said, it depends which Algeria turn up against us

I've never understood environmentalists who gleefully throw their weight behind electric cars, forgetting where the power needed to charge them for hours and hours comes from. . . . I can understand cars where the electric motor is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell such as the Honda Clarity, which have a range of 280 miles and take 5 mins to fill up with hydrogen. Once the infrastructure is sorted out and hydrogen filling stations are all over the place (easier said than done I know) I believe that is what will replace the car as we know it,

It's always a very flawed comparison when comparing two people in the same role, where one has been in the job for 10 months and one was in it for 10 years

TBH for me it would depend whether they went towards buying top quality players that ould keep us in the premiership and beyond
