Pompey wouldn't mind getting them at FP. Villa aren't out of it yet though. On another subject, apparently someone said on radio solent this morning that half of the staff at Pompey were gonna be laid off tomorrow?

I think alpine makes a valid point. If we want automatic promotion next season we have to learn to play against the poorer teams on pitches that resemble ploughed fields. Next season we cannot drop points against relegation battlers

Can you at least do some research before you post? The Dell had a capacity of over 30,000 until the early 90s, but due to Hillsborough it was only then it went down to around 15,000 after Maggie's rampage round the football grounds. We had a 15,000 capacity for less than a decade until we moved to St Mary's. Enjoy the cup run while it lasts, I'm sure the players will enjoy all the bonuses they'll get for getting Pompey so far in the cup . . . oh
-
I wish Pompey all the best then in the cup
-
Am I right in thinking that when we got to the FA Cup final in 03, the run actually COST the club money overall?
-
Did the Tranmere pitch resemble a ploughed field today by any chance?

Another manager with questionable ambition ?

It's what happens next season that matters -
Jakobsson's main problem was that he couldn't run
-
That was the time when Tahar nearly chopped Dyer in two, that tackle alone made me never forget Tahar. Was Hoddle's first signing here I believe
-
Cedric Baseya, now playing for Le Havre in the French Second Division
-
I don't think we ever saw Alaeddine Yahia play in the first team. If he couldn't displace Jakobsson or Davenport he must have been bad
-
Eyal Berkovic had the game of his life in the 6-3 win against Man U

It wouldn't surprise me if these checks are about as effective as their fit and proper persons test

Cor dear, if you took your head out of your arse for a moment, you'd realise that a lot of people like me and SOG weren't sneering at the possibility of instant success, we were emphasising the need to give AP time in the circumstances that this club were in at the start of the season. Instant success was a long way from being guaranteed, a hell of a long way. Pardew could quite easily have done a Burley, spent millions on poor signings/players where it didn't happen for them and we'd be a lot lower in the league than we are at the moment. Fact is Pardew has done an superb job here, in initially a difficult situation, I wouldn't mind betting you were one of the people calling for his head after the understandably slow start to the season.
-
This season is all about building for next season. Next season 2 out of Norwich, Leeds and Charlton will not be in this division and there's a good chance it'll be all 3. The slow start and the -10 scuppered our chances this season and were always likely to scupper our chances this season. Next season we MUST launch a strong challenge for automatic promotion to the Championship, and be in the top 2 of thereabouts throughout the season especially at the end  This is where AP has to deliver. IF we can sneak into the playoffs this season. It's unlikely but if we did it would be an unbelievable achievement, considering what we were when AP took over.

Judging by that it's people like you who'd be calling for Pardew to be sacked everytime we went 5 games without a win. Pardew has done an excellent job here and instant success was far from being a guarantee. Not referring to you directly here but it continues to amaze me how many people thought anything but a lengthy string of wins and rocketing up the table to the playoffs with Pardew was failure, yet bashed Lowe for his managerial record. I don't agree with SOG on a lot of things but he's got it spot on this time

I've had O2 broadband for 4 months now. Had an initial set up problem (although i think this was down to abnormally bad weather at the time), rang up the customer service at 8am and they'd sorted it by midday. Had no problems since then, apart from the initial hiccup it's been bulletproof reliability, very fast, very friendly and efficient (UK based) customer service. My particular package is a little pricey but the first 3 months were free and usage is unlimited. If you are an O2 mobile customer you can get a superb deal. When recommending broadband providers I have one general rule. . . Avoid BT like the plague.

The sooner the PL have washed their hands of Pompey the better. Pompey are a liability to the PL. Besides if the PL were not to enforce the deduction, it would cause widespread uproar
-
Course they will, the PL want Pompey out of their hands and dump the problem on the FL ASAP
-
Campos to be known as Hispania Racing according to the beeb
-
looking like he's gonna be one of AP's best signings. Like others on here, I'm amazed we got him as he was only playing in the Portuguese Premier Division regularly 3-4 years ago

No they haven't, HMRC want them wound up. The only time I've heard them even hint at admin being a solution was in the court room when the representing QCs have to produce a sensible and logical argument. If the QCs merely said they must be liquidated, admin simply isn't an option for this corrupt, justice dodging football club it would reduce HMRC's chances of winning their case considerably
-
And this time, Pompey can't get out of it by going into administration Is Pompey being wound up on the 15th a realistic scenario?
-
is there any possibility they could be wound up on the 15th, if the administration deal turns out to be dodgy?
-
That's sealed their doom
