The prize money is actually unfairly balanced in favour of the women now because they play less tennis to earn the same amount of money as the men. As for Murray I don't hate him so much even he is a complete drama queen. He was also witness to the effects of the '96 Dunblane massacre and anyone remotely in the vicinity of such an event could have been traumatised for a very, very long time. To go through that and achieve what he has is testament to him. His problem is he's a PR nightmare and he just isn't at the level of Federer/Nadal/Djokovic to win a Grand Slam, even if he is a better player than pretty much anyone else. He is consistently getting to SFs, he just doesn't have what it takes to topple the best of the best at the moment. It's more of a combination of the media's obsession with him and the world of the middle class Wimbledon crowd's nauseating love-in with him that I can't stand. Sue Barker's first question to Federer after winning yet another Grand Slam was 'what he thought about Andy Murray'. I actually thought that was damn right disrespectful.

Marussia F1 test driver Maria de Villota Crash
JackFrost replied to doubleonothing's topic in Motoring Forum
Yeah I know it was, but why it was parked even remotely near where the car was being tested strikes me as odd. -
I thought Rotten made some very valid points although he came over badly by speaking when he wanted to and pretending Dimbleby wasn't there. He was spot on with some of his comments on fighting the drug war although his reasons for wanting drugs legalised were all over the place. As for Mensch she is an enormous hypocrite but I would

Marussia F1 test driver Maria de Villota Crash

Whilst I don't think anyone knows exactly what was where during the test session it does strike me as odd a lorry would be parked anywhere near where the F1 car was being tested -
Yeah people know their doing it and not all people can get rid of it so you'll just have to put up with it. HTH

Who Is The Worst Company you Have Had The Misfortune To Have To Deal With

The amount of horror stories i've heard involving BT means I advise anyone to avoid them like the plague. One memorable incident was a few years ago when some outage took the phone lines down locally. Once they reconnected and a few random people phoning us up to place orders later, we dialled our own number and discovered that BT had mixed our number up with a local Indian takeaway. It took them over a week to sort it out. The takeaway must have lost quite a bit if business that week -
Well it's either a true story or a complete Turkey

How long since Saints had an England Player and who was it?
JackFrost replied to hamster's topic in The Saints
Yeah he started against Liechtenstein I seem to remember and hit the crossbar with a shot. I think this was 2003-2004 time though -
Indeed, it's a quote taken off the BBC news ticker when the family's reaction was breaking news. I'm surprised the BBC didn't word it differently or use a different quote
-
Not the best quote/choice of words to use: "Family of cricketer Tom Maynard, who died after being hit by a Tube train, say death is 'a devastating blow".

The vast majority of such accidents have been at night and I actually would agree with you that the danger is extremely low during the day time. However the danger is greater in the dark, especially in wet conditions. In one of such accidents where I was involved in the investigation the driver of the car was killed. I had to take the witness statement from the seriously injured passenger who said they'd approached a blind right-hand kink on a 60mph road, a car had come in the opposite direction, flashed them and had temporarily unsighted the driver due to the glare just at the wrong time. There may not have been speed checks on that road at the time but the principle remains the same. Rule 110 of the highway code instructs you not to flash headlights except when you need to indicate your presence for a reason.

Sounds as if you got court out to me

When I worked in traffic, I came across plenty of accidents that were caused by people flashing their headlights unexpectedly and distracting/dazzling other road users. Rule 110 of the highway code is very clear. 'Flashing headlights. Only flash your headlights to let other road users know that you are there. Do not flash your headlights to convey any other message or intimidate other road users.' And if people are having to slow down for speed cameras it usually means their breaking the speed limit in the first place.

Southampton Player Trivia: Anyone know any pointless facts?

Chris Marsden has a bald head. . . -
I believe it falls under the category of "ungentlemanly conduct" in the most bureaucratic parts of FIFA's rulebook.
