Well if they **** this up I just don’t know where they can turn. The supporters, the majority at least, are happy with him, the players seem to think he’s the bees knees.....even Ralph has a nickname for one of his assistants ! its a touch worrying as to why this hasn’t been done and dusted as yet....if at all !
-
A prime example of Ralph acknowledging things need to be done quickly due to the transfer window shutting 9 August..... 10 days and counting since the last match of the season.....these lawyers are fkin slow. It’s not Brexit ffs
-
Tonight or tomorrow evening I would guess. Saints like an evening announcement !
-
Agree with all that

I keep seeing this criticism of Hughes last set of transfers at Stoke but do we know they were solely his choices or do they operate a board/selection panel like we appear to ?

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal

A good World Cup will see him gone......a bad one and he probably stays -
well he did pretty well in saving us this season and by getting them to play a style of football much more watchable than the previous two managers so I’m not sure what you base that logic on. If you told me six months ago I would be happy with Hughes as manager I would have laughed at you but fairs fair, he came in, did what very few expected and kept us up. For that alone he deserves a chance.

which is pretty much what Jeremy Wilson has said in The Telegraph not an hour ago

must be bloody annoying to have a bull**** post dis-proved by the club’s favourite insider journalist within 13 minutes

They will in China

aside of your flippant, sarcastic response the fact is that Bertrand has been good enough to play for England all season bar the last friendly when he was injured. He hasnt let them down - didnt he score in one game ? - yet now he isnt good enough to be in the squad. Southgate said the decisions have been made over the long run not just the past few weeks. In the case of Bertrand Out - Rose In that is obviously bull **** !
-
you are a bit of a strange one aren’t you ?
-
He's far from clueless. Not many Chairman will come out at the end of the season and admit to making mistakes etc. For once its a good interview. Feel a bit sorry for him really, when everything was roses in the garden it was Reed who couldn't wait to get in front the cameras. When its gone all to **** Ralph has to step up to the microphone !

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
beatlesaint replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Surprised they aren’t after Pep, Klopp or Pochettino ! -
hope so, and that shouldn’t be a problem. Pelle, Tadic and Classie were obviously Koeman signings. Pied and Boufal were Puel signings and the non scoring centre forward from Argentina was Pellegrino’s wonderful call
-
This doesn’t quite fit with the Reed is going in the summer rumours which seem to be taken as gospel.
-
Totally agree. The way he threw the young keeper Lewis under the bus in that game was also shameful. I often wondered if that was the moment he lost a lot of the senior players tbh.

Manolo Gabbiadini: Joins Sampdoria - Official

Think Bertrand’s slight injury put paid to him coming on. I hope he stays but doubt he will. -
He wouldn’t attend matches if this were true surely
-
I have to agree. Every manager since Adkins gave him his debut has picked him then after a while dropped him again. Puel was the one who stuck with him longest. JWP really is an enigma. He can look quite good but most of the time you barely notice he’s playing or remember his contribution to a game. Apart from the infamous dead ball specialist tag I’m still not sure what he contributes or what position suits him best. After six seasons he should by now have formed an identity within the team
-
He was the worst manager I can recall in 42 years of supporting The Saints. Worse than Wigley, Portaloo, Wotte, Branfoot......

lazy journalism. Let’s link Liverpool with a Southampton player, there’s history there after all.
