No Cork !

I'm just struggling to see how someone who had info about a former manager moving to Swindon after he had left Southampton can be in a position to get the inside info on what is happening at Southampton nearly 10 years later

This wouldnt be related to the hush hush medical before Osvaldo would it ?

"Gimme Shelter" - any chance for the next few games?
beatlesaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Yes and it even mentions Southampton in the lyrics -
Considering Osvaldo wasn't even the designated penalty taker at his previous club why the hell would he come in and replace the current one who hasn't missed from the spot as yet. Sorry but its a ridiculous question by yet another one of the mischief makers on here

Yep there is no way Rickie will be dropped, he will play deeper or as a partner for Osvaldo (if he comes). The ones under threat would be Jay Rod, Lallana and Gaston. To be honest it wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if they let Gaston go if he signs. I dont dislike him but I just dont see him as an MP type player !

I think you are being a bit harsh on old Woy. He always talks in these semi riddles. I think Rickie will be in the next squad......probably wont play but he will be included even if its just to keep the media off Hodgson's back !

I agree and it wasn't only WBA who exposed Fox. Think back to Match of the Day last season when Hansen drew those bloody huge great squares exposing the space Fox left on his side of the pitch. From what I saw yesterday, positionally, he hasn't learnt at all about positional play when defending. Still he is a great dead ball crosser so that makes it alright for some ! Sorry but I dont't subscribe to this "he isn't as bad as some people say" mantra. He was exposed in the Championship for goodness sake. He has not got any better.

Despite your high level of sarcasm the truth is Shaw does seem to get injured quite a lot and we need a decent left back as cover. We have all known it since Christmas at least !!!

I agree about the Captain bit. He isn't a natural leader by the look of it and the added responsibility may well be hampering him. He isn't one of the players left in the squad who you just know is not Premiership quality - if I mention a couple I'm sure I will be accused of picking scapegoats - he just needs a return to the form he is capable of. Everyone has dips in form, and when you are getting used to a step up in quality and you have had an injury or two its going to take a while. Lets see what he is like by Christmas....but I do wonder, as Sour Mash has suggested, wether he will be in the starting eleven from the first match ?

Think the problem is a lot of people thought he would be a top Premiership player for us and in the two thirds of his first season in the league he did not live up to people's expectations. How dare he take longer than 20 odd games to adjust to the next level up

Baroness Brinton on Saints and Premier League
beatlesaint replied to Toon Saint's topic in The Saints
What a top Baroness this lady is :-) -
I thought that was quite a fair price to be honest, esp as its the only home friendly we have.
