List of players the experts of Saintsweb at some stage have written off
beatlesaint replied to ToreSF's topic in The Saints
Its a chat forum, people express their opinions about players. Some are proved right, some are proved wrong. I defy anyone to honestly say they have not come away from a match and made the off the cuff comment that "_____ is bloody rubbish". Its forgotten by the next game. This is exactly the same as that, except its written down and other people instead of just the person you were talking to, see it and add a comment, usually on here telling you you are a moron for having an opinion about player X that they dont share. Every player who has ever worn a Saints shirt will have been slagged off at some point. The serial offenders are nine times out of ten the players that are, in the context of the rest or majority of the team they play or played in, not as good. Simple as that. -
You really sure about that ?

I dont always agree with manji but in this instance he is right and you are wromg. Lowe was part of the problem but Lowe to be fair didn't realise he was bringing in a manager who probably only took the job to spite Mandric and openly had admitted he realised after just a week he had made a mistake coming here. Redcrapp did not give a toss while he was here. The stories of one of his staff coming out of St Mary's drunk after a match are well known as is the fact that before that Man Utd game that saw us go down with a whimper old 'arry didn t have a bloody clue what to do or who to pick - Kevin Phillips on the bench so Ormerod could play !!! Seriously ? The bloke always has someone else to blame when things dont go his way. Listening to some of the bull he has come out with the last few weeks is identical to the excuses he made whilst at Southampton.....the only difference is he doesn't refer to QPR as "they" like he did us !
-
Poor old Dave cant really be that out of touch......can he ? Which one or combination of the following would he like us to applaud him for - 1 Being manager when we were relegated from the Premiership 2 Always referring to the club as "they" like he was never part of it 3 Later admitting he realised he had made a mistake after one week by joining Saints 4 Not having his heart or head in the job 5 Leaving us to go back to Portsmuff 6 Calum Davenport and Oliver Bernard 7 Taking the **** out of a jury/the country by claimimng he is some sort of retard in order to escape his, ahem, tax evasion charges As Huffton so rightly says old dave is going to be disappointed next week !
-
Wether we are in The Premiership or The Championship I hope he is definitely NOT part of the squad next season never mind the team.
-
Here Here ! All this fine as back up talk is rubbish......he is **** !
-
Oh i think MP would possibly have noticed today. If he is as sharp as people say he is it wont have gone un-noticed. I only hope there was a very good reason for Shaw coming off - injury being the only one I can think of, and if so then pray it isnt serious.
-
Some people get upset if you highlight just how **** Fox is.......he must be the unluckiest player we have ever had then if you want to be generous !
-
Think you have just solved the puzzle there !
-
yes please

Tend to agree, that break last week probably didnt do us any favours. I always hate the "we have had two good weeks on the training ground" statement which usually means we go all to hell. Some of the "City effect" is bound to have worn off. As long as we beat that saggy chopped tax evader next week. One win from these two games will be ok especially as results went for us yesterday.

Be amazed if Reading dont win. Probably leave it until the 93rd minute but they will win.

Lee Barnard for Oldham v Everton tonight
beatlesaint replied to Steeleye Saint's topic in The Saints
I assume you made that statement either through a haze of drink or with tongue firmly in cheek considering both players have appeared in a Saints shirt AFTER their respective "incidents" ? After watching Barnard last night you can clearly see why he is surplus to reqirements. Even if the worst happened and we get relegated he would still not be a top half Championship striker IMHO. When will he learn that you cannot bundle into a defender and not conceed a free kick ffs ? -
If we get to the Champions League in a few years time Fiona Phillips might remember where she is from
-
I noticed that as Matt, Thommo and Charlie clapped Jeff and Hartlepool
-
Lets see how Mayuka performs under MP before we start writing him off shall we ? Considering how one or two players have upped their game considerably (Davis, Guly v Everton) since the new manager arrived maybe given a chance this guy will too !

I wondered that having read Rickie's interview in the programme on Saturday. He was really gutted about being left on the bench first match of the season. It puzzled me then and still puzzles me now. As much as I was a fan of NA there is no getting away from the fact some of his selections and treatment of Rickie this season bordered on weird.
-
He can play deeper, in other words midfield, no problem. His touch, vision and range of passing is incredible. He is so much more than a big bruising centre forward. You watch Andy Carroll today and watch the video of Rickie last night. Its as different as night and day yet Carroll has played for England. Crazy.

For those that say "Spurs were a mid table team back then" etc, doesn't matter. We absolutely ran that game from start to finish and murdered them live on TV. It was a superb performance. Yesterday, for me, just beat that because of the intensity.
-
as do Villa with Arsenal and Man City up next. I think we will finish above West Ham. There, I've said it
-
The booking of Lambert was ridiculous, compounded when he didnt book Toure 5 mins later for a bad challenge.
-
Serious post or just wind up I dont know but what I do know is that if we do go down then I wont be as devastated as i was back in 2005. After seeing life outside the Premiership it no longer holds any fears for me.

Wigan 2-2 SAINTS /// Post-Match Reactions
beatlesaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
QPR draw all these games - thought they were dead certs to win today - and people say they are on a good run. We draw these games and its not good enough, 1 win in the last 9 etc etc. I would rather be us than QPR, Villa or Wigan. -
Totally agree.
