totally agree with that - he was bloody fantastic for a few weeks before that injury and never really got that form back. Really hard worker, always liked him and I hope this move comes off for him and wish him and his family well, especially in light of the personal tragedy they suffered a couple of months ago.
-
It will be extremely harsh if either of them get dropped and I wouldn't want to pick cos both have been fantastic for us. Look how much we miss either when they are out.

The soundbite that came with my season ticket was talking about "The Southampton Way - we lead and others follow our example" etc etc I'm having trouble linking that with the new kit. We have a shirt that you can buy unbranded for £15-20 online, a shirt that is identical to Bristol City's, a League One club and yet we take the lead whilst others follow ? Really ? If I was Mr Cortese I would be asking Adidas serious questions as to why the club have been conned into launching a kit that most certainly does not "lead the way" !! SFC, Cortese or whoever approved this kit have had the wool well and truly pulled over their eyes. Say what you will about last season's pin stripe effort from Umbro but at least it was unique to Southampton.
-
looking at that pic have they sneeked the end of season DVD out today too ?
-
Sizing is less generous than Umbro ? You must be kidding. Depending on manufacturer i can buy Medium or Large in tops. Umbro's Saints shirts were tight and I had to go for XL......many had the same issue. So what size would we have to buy with this crappy thing then ? Oh, and I agree about the long sleeves !

The best entrance music you've ever heard at a football game
beatlesaint replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
The tune is actually from an old Liverpudlian folk song called Johnny Todd which was used by Z Cars as it was set in a fictional area of Liverpool. I think Everton used it from then on. To get back to topic I always wondered why Arsenal ran out to Elvis singing The Wonder of You a few years back. -
Many years ago Nick Holmes said all the captain had to do was go out, call heads or tails at the toss and choose which way to kick first half. A rather simplistic view maybe but as Weston says a talented team who are being constantly told what to do by MP onthe touchline dont need a captain to du much. Let him carry on, just because he took a while to adapt to the Premiership and a while to get over his injuries, which often seems to happen with him, does not show if he is a good or bad captain or more importantly if it impacts on his game !

The home games through until the start of December look very very winnable !
-
Add the cryptic clue from Saints Paul Watts and I reckon thats right. Albion being the highest ground in England, snow on high lying ground etc etc
-
Forren ?
-
Pleanty of threads started about who was a let down at Saints etc but if ever there was player or manager who exceeded expectations then WGS will take some beating !
-
I reckon you are Seriously though, rather WGS humour than the dour, boring Dave Jones twaddle !
-
No, I think he is a fan who is desperate for his club to hit the big time and has been totally shafted by Redknapp to the point he cant see the wood for the trees. Like a frightened rabbit in old arry's headlights.
-
If I was Fernandes I would call the old ****s bluff. Let him walk, no pay off then and he can get a decent manager in who is willing to build them up into a decent side unlike Arry who will just apply a quick fix and hope it works.
-
Why ? Beatts didn't tweet it, Sharp did !
-
The only way Kenwright would employ 'arry is as Fagin in one of his theatre productions !!
-
I agree with the Cork one, had he been fit at the start I think we would have scraped a few draws in games we lost. And to be honest it doesn't take a genius to work out we are better with Shaw at left back than Fox playing, well wherever the mood takes him really

So do you mean more plush seats to the right of the Director's box in the Itchen and a bigger commentary area at the back of The Kingsland ?
-
Bigger and better contract, more money, bigger house. The End.

He has been steadily planting every excuse he can think of not to stay since he finished planting every excuse he could think of as to why they wouldn't stay up. I'm just pleased that more and more football fans and journalists are having their eyes open to what sort of man he really is. If, and its a big IF, he is there in August he sure as hell wont be by Christmas unless the Chairman rolls over and gives him all the money he has left.....poor unsuspecting sap !

Can Someone Explain The Financial Fair Play Rules - And How It Impacts Us
beatlesaint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
No idea. I thought i heard during commentary on a Sky game during the week that the matter was heading for the Courts and might not come to anything in the end......or did i dream that ? -
RIP little man, thoughts with Richard and his family. What a lovely touch by Rickie with the t-shirt tribute.
-
He has committed himself to Southampton, the only way he will not be here is if NC decides to sell him. He said in January his future was here, nothing will have changed that, we haven't been relegated. The sooner we get to 12 July and he signs that contract the better and people on here can relax about it, just like they have about Morgan.........
-
In fairness to them it could be that Fox is just slow to catch on as per his usual playing style Interesting to read he hopes they are both here for a long time to come as I seriously wonder if Mr Fox himself will be. I'm hoping we can wave him goodbye in a few short weeks !!

Lots and lots, you wait and see
