  1. Nail on head
  2. Blabber mouth Luke - sell him !
  3. Random after all this time......but waste of money since you ask
  4. It was and on the evidence of the times I have seen him (all at St Mary's admitted) his distribution has always been very good, especially his throwing.
  5. wind up merchant
  6. Not so sure we wont get a point against Everton, they do draw a lot of games.
  7. If he is out for a while I would rather have Clyne at left back and bring Richardson in at right back. To me Richardson is the lesser of the two evils but I'm sure NA wont see it that way :-D
  8. Unless our medics told a pitch side reporter that is just conjecture surely ?
  9. Why not, people on here have been getting carried away after he had one bad game when he hadn't played for God knows how long so wasn't exactly match sharp !!
  10. I always think back to an interview on Radio Solent around last Christmas/New Year with either the club's accountant or some financial guy connected with the club. He said quite clearly that Saints had spent "nowhere near" what they expected to in order to be where they were (top of The Championship) at that time. That leads me to believe that financially we are more than ok, and as Lighthouse says, if you cannot trust a banker to look after the money you cant trust anyone.
  11. Surprised you haven't been shouted down for that one. I agree with you though, would be ideal short term.
  12. I doubt it. I think all our transfer business will be completed in the last week of January as NC plays hardball with the selling club(s) involved. Its not a criticism, just what I think will happen. Hope I'm wrong.
  13. I would really love to hear an answer to that question from anybody who was involved in bringing him to the club. I would also love to know why he has never really been given a chance. He scared Spurs something stupid when he came on against them and played wide right. Have we seen him wide right since then ? Have we hell.
  14. You have forgotten his other weak spot which is letting in goals at his near post :-)
  15. They are....but they lost at home to WBA who then lost at home to Fulham, and they drew at home to Villa who then beat Liverpool 3-0 who in turn beat QPR 4-0. Freak result hardly means they will be climbing the table anytime soom !
  16. Its hardly disastorous is it ? They are 5 points behind, as good as 6 with GD and there next three fixtures inc Spurs and Man City.
  17. He most certainly is...and some people want to drop him for Jay Rod ? Give me strength.
  18. Thats right, today is the first time in the last 9 games we have let in more than one goal.
  19. He had a definite plan yesterday which involved getting at Sunderland with pace, hence the selection of Mayuka and substitution involving De Ridder. Unfortunately it didnt work tho ! I found it a little strange that Jay Rod had his best game for us against Reading last time out and never got on the pitch yesterday, and that Mayuka who has been warming the bench since he came here suddenly gets a start when in 10 days time he will be off the the ACN. Why oh why Mayuka wasn't tried out wide was beyond me, his best cameo for the club being against Spurs when he ran at them and scared the living daylights out of them from the right wing. Just like the game itself the selections, tactics and general approach all seemed a bit "meh" really.
  20. Bloody hell Reading are awful......oh well I'm sure they will be better Saturday away to Man City :-)
  21. Agreed with everything you said up until the last 15 words or so of your post...
  22. I totally agree. As was stated earlier NA will say he is out on Thursday in his weekly press conference, so why not say in the past week ? If people think keeping it quiet means Sunderland wont know they are seriously deluded. A knock or small injury then fair enough, play the guessing game, but with this, nothing to gain from it at all.
  23. I was there and it was my birthday Still is actually A wonderful memory, and the split second of silence seemed to last a lot longer when the ball hit the net !
  24. Wow, you have a real bee in your bonnet about this one dont you ? Whilst you are correct that the club do love to anounce contract extensions and whilst its true that Puncheon can talk to other clubs in a months time am I not correct in thinking that his contract, despite that, still has 7 months to run ? It doesnt expire on 31 December, it expires on 30 June. He scored the winner yesterday sure, he has looked a decent player in a fair few matches this season yes but he isnt exactly THE man in a one man team is he ? Lets just see what happens with him in the next few months shall we ? Both on and off the pitch that is ! You do have a to slip your usual negative in regularly dont you Duncan ? Shame cos you are obviously an intelligent fella....and yes I did buy your book
