We have a fantastic Championship squad but we are playing in the Premiership and the problem that lies with this bring in young and hungry players lies in the fact that if they get off to a decent start the confidence will grow. If things dont go their way that confidence will go very quickly. Looking at the next two fixtures I really worry that if we dont bring in 3 or 4 Premiership class players by Friday then we are going to struggle big time. I am disappointed the signings for the dodgy positions have not been made by now. I trust they will be made in the next few days. If we are buying these young players such as Jay Rod can we at least play the poor sod in his best position to at least give him a fighting chance ?

After the way Fox was exposed time and time again on Sunday its just as well. Now all the Fox fans will crucify me for that I'm sure but before you go too mad just take a look subjectively at him on Saturday at how often he leaves his man completely or gives him acres of space. Teams will soon target that flank when playing against us.

He does have the clubs interests at heart yes, he is stubborn yes, but sometimes to achieve the best interests of the club you have to put your stubborness to one side. And I'm not sure NC will do that.

You missed something today for sure. Worked his socks off today, Gary Neville said on Sky that he was making intellignet runs in behind their centre backs but wasn't being picked out by our players. If you must have a go at him at least pick a game where he is poor, not today !

Yeah exactly, a waste of his talents. My point being we play/practice this new system all pre-season, players dont look entirely comfortable with it and now, on day 1 are we changing it yet again and putting Jay through the iddle for the first time after sticking him out wide up to now ? I'm confused as to why we are playing a system that, as yet, we clearly dont have the players to play it !! thats madness imho.

So Jay been plauing left midfiel/forward all pre-season and what now ? he is up front thru the middle is he.....or is that Guly ?

I would love to know who our first choices were for the right midfield role. I mean you dont leave it until two days before the season starts to put in a bid if this is the player they have always wanted which is what I'm sure we will be told if this comes off. I'm not putting the club down or anything cos I think he would be a great signing, but just saying that you dont wait until now to secure your first choice, and anyone who thinks this is our number 1 target for this position is a little bit too naieve.

Totally agree. The positions that needed strengthening the minute the final whistle went against Coventry still need strengthening 4 days before we play Man City. Thats what I find disappointing. No centre back, no right midfielder/winger.

Well he is a centre forward isn't he ? And we have got one of those who has scored 88 goals in 3 years. So if we dont play them as a partnership what happens ? We play one out of position, or not at all. Either way the system does NOT suit the players we have or have bought, as yet.

No it isnt ground breaking, it didnt need to be, the fact there is only a week to go until kick off is my point exactly. We have had over 3 months to address these issues, actually we have had since last January's transfer window.
