I'll tell you why I think it is - history ! History has for so so long with us dictated that if we go 1 up we tend to sit back and eventually give it away. After watching the Saints for years and seeing it so many times people naturally get a bit twitchy and tend to panic. Now had we done it at 2 or 3 goals up I think people would have been more controlled and appreciative of what was happening but at 1-0 there is always at the back of your mind the fear of the old Southampton way coming back and biting us on the ass ! Thats my opinion anyway.

Its a nice record to have, so well done Kelvin, but he isnt anywhere near the same league as Shilts was. I wonder if he would have been anywhere near this record if he had had Richardson in front of him at right back for most games this season instead of Butterfield. Richardson was dreadful today.

I remember the last promotion season very well, especially a game against Blackburn near the end of the season where we thumped them 5-0. I was 11 back then so didnt worry so much about all the things that could go wrong like I am doing now !!!

To be fair he did seem quite a way out, had he been too far out and Jaidi hit the ball back harder it could have been past him. Davis has been shaky at times, near post goals anyone ?, but I think the blame there lies with the defender not the keeper.

Surely not ! I thought the way they were carrying on it was only Adkins who had dared to suggest that ! The biggest favour they could have done Huddersfield passed them by today. They similarities between this and the Bournemouth build up is amazing They both got overly excited with themselves They both created a rivalry that doesnt really exist. Thats true, it is, but who is going to stop it ? The referee ? Remember the refs at this level barely understand what constitutes a foul or an offside, they aren't ever going to come to terms with subtle little things like the multiball system :-)

It is Matt, he told us what game he was watching on Sky Soccer Saturday before the show even started and he told us he was co commentating on Chelsea's game tonight, again well before the show started. If it isnt Matt its someone who is psychic !!

The more and more I look at this stat the more and more I wonder.....WTF ? If you include the Cup tie where he came off the bench and scored he has played in 5 wins and 5 defeats so that says... what ? You might as well say that stat shows that Saints were crap until mid September cos 6 of those games only take us up to 15 September and of the next 4 we have won 3 !!

I would leave him out against Brighton and play him against Hartlepool if it was down to me, which it isn't.....and if he is fit of course ! I think a lot of the team selection for the Brighton game will depend on events on Friday regarding Huddersfield.

Apparently he told Hospitality people today that he hopes to be back for the last 2 or 3, so a fortnight when we play Brentford I reckon.
