  1. The only one of those points I would even half give a second thought to would be Higginbottom in as cover, but only cover. Im sure half the time, if this is from Solent, its bloody Pompey fans taking the ****, cos if not.....oh dear oh dear.
  2. Yep big game and with Sam's dodgy penalty specialists not playing a great chance to go back to the top. Now the Saints of old would have blown this chance but not this Saints team.......will they ?
  3. I think he will be found lacking if he gets the England job. Wheeler dealers arent particularly suited to international management. He will rely heavily on his coaching staff and I'm sorry but if Kevin Bond ends up sat on the bench at Wembley as Coach to the England team that really will be hard to stomach. Just ask any ex Saints players who worked with him, any fans who saw him stagger out of St Marys after games worse for alcohol, and if you dont believe them take a wander down to Dean Court and ask any of them about his leadership and/or coaching qualities.
  4. Good shout, bloody sure he would go for it.....then he can take over Spurs when Bagpuss takes over England after the Euros.
  5. Coming away from the ground last night a guy in front of me said to his mate "we aren't as good as we think we are". That pretty much sums it up for me (and I'm not talking about last night). We started off like a train and have now levelled out. We are, I think, a good Championship top ten side, maybe a bit more, certainly nothing less than that. We could make the playoffs but I honestly believe that could hinge on the next two home games against Burnley and Derby. If we fail to win either then we will drop like a stone, confidence will become even more fragile than its starting to look now. Hopefully the players will learn from this, if they learn straight away then great it could well be an exciting end to the season. Failing that next season should see a real push for promotion.
  6. Im pretty sure we wouldnt have bothered with him had Puncheon been welcomed back with open arms a week earlier, like you say where and when is he going to play ?
  7. Chaplow is starting.
  8. is Fox only suspended for this game, Solent sounded clueless on Saturday as to what game he would miss ?

    Guly

So do I but back to Guly. He is frustrating at times but can be quite brilliant a moment later too. He's unpredictable, so if he or we dont know what he is going to do next how the hell can the opposition. I like him.....but I was amazed to see him come on last night in those conditions.
  10. I thought he was our best player against Cardiff, yep he does have a lot more to do to make up for his attitude in the last year but he does deserve some credit for the way he has started. I never wanted him back BUT am more than happy for him to prove me wrong.
  11. I agree, hard to judge anyone on yesterdays conditions but against Cardiff I thought he was outstanding. My only concern is that we have seen this before. When he came here he was great for the first 8 games or so then faded badly. I hope it doesnt happen this time for his sake and ours.
  12. Bugger, I didnt realise that, I was hoping this would be a good game for him and Rickie to gel.
  13. I never voted for the ****. Bloody glad i didnt too.
  14. Well they suddenly did it because we need a proven scroer at this level to play alongside Rickie. Lee will not aclimatise straight away. I firmly believe that Lee is a signing more for next season than this. Just think about how long De Ridder was given to bed into the squad and the style of play in England. And he played in Europe, not the J league. Put that little voice to bed, its evil and will hurt you ;-)
  15. Personally I think if peace had broken out between NC and Puncheon a week earlier we wouldn't have bothered with Falque. I also believe the signing of Sharp means that Lee will be given the rest of this season, barring any injuries to Rickie and Billy (that sounds good), to get aclimatised etc. If you think about it Adkins has given De Ridder about 5 months to get used to the English game and he only came from Belgium !! So I would expect to see Lee as an irregular sub depending on who else he wants on the bench. As has been said this 5 sub rule has done us no favours really.
  16. Excellent.....now if we could only get a centre half.......
  17. Signed too late surely.
  18. Brilliant.
  19. As he isnt cup tied I would think his home debut will be next Tuesday against Millwall.
  20. I am awaiting Jordan Sibley tweeting confirmation that I should be heading over to the OS for a bit of sharp transfer news !
  21. They are waiting for Solent's Adam Blackmore to get there !!!
  22. 6.30 I reckon !
  23. No, it means you win £40 :-)
  24. I assume the alternatives now that Collins deal has gone by the way would be centre halves rather than attacking midfielders.
  25. Not cup tied either. :-)
